No, I will not say they have the best wings. Came in tonight with mister cause he wanted to see if they still had good food. He use to come here back in the day. I got the. Garlicky Honey Peppered wings w/ fried okra. The wings smelled of garlic but for some reason I couldn't taste the garlic as much. I thought it was just me, but Mister said the samething. The wings was bland and I should have ask for them to fry them a little more crispy. The fried okra was good. Misters flounder fish was just OK. Now, will I visit again? Yes... Why are they swimming?? I ordered the 6pc combo hot with lemon pepper sprinkles. Did she think I said hot, wet, and lemon pepper sprinkles, or is this the norm? It's located next door to the farmers market so depending on what side of 78 you are on, you may want to make a note of that. Also, the store itself reminds you of a Jr crickets. They sold the business about a year ago. The new owners are screwing up what was a very good and profitable restaurant. This place was never fancy, and you had to wait awhile for your food. But that was because they were slammed with customers all day. Today I went in and the parking lot was empty, inside was a ghost town and the ladies taking the order were nice, but couldn't understand any special instructions on my split order of wings. Now they charge you extra for more than two dipping sauces with a order of 20 wings. The fries had a weird taste to them, like they were fried in the same oil as fish or something like that. As a long time ATL adoptee, it's important to know where to get your wings. ABW is one of those places. The menu is booming with variety and I try to go out of my norm (10pc wing combo) and add something different (i.e. popcorn shrimp, fried okra, egg roll, hush puppies, etc) to get to taste different things. Wings and fries are always on point, never any complaints on that. I like their popcorn shrimp but I messed around and had them do half buffalo sauce--nah. The sauce wasn't bad but it just wasn't the smartest choice for my taste buds. My hubby loves fried okra and he gave them a stamp of approval on that. Ok service is Atlanta too lol. What I mean is, I don't expect to have super friendly chipper service. You come for what you want and leave. It's not disrespectful or rude, but also very NY in a sense--do what you came to do and be gone. Nothing spectacular or special about the ambience. It's decent to eat in. The worst wings I have ever had. The sweet and sour, spicy wings AKA wings covered in packets of duck sauce and warmed in the microwave. The pictures do no justice to the lack of flavor this entire order had. The onion rings looked like something made from play dough . I saw no onion in any of those fried rings. The hush puppies were as dry as the Sahara! They use to have pieces of corn, cheese, onion etc inside. Now they are dry as a bone. The mushrooms were pure grease. Ordered the philly, wing, fries and drink combo for $18.01 after tax. The philly was delicious, seasoned well, melty cheese. The bun was weak and immediately fell apart but it wasn't a big deal. I got honey lemon pepper for the wings and that sauce was so sweet and a little salty. Ended up dipping the fries into the sauce, yummy. The wings were insy bitsy though, next time I'll just get the philly and fries. The restaurant interior is cute, the display board was startlingly blue, that probably needs to get fixed. I am not sure what it is about Atlanta and chicken wings, but it seems that this is the chicken wing capital of the U.S. There is a spot on every corner. I stopped in this establishment because it was conveniently located in the same strip mall with the grocery store. My mother and nephew remembered eating at this place before and they both seemed to think the food was pretty good. This place had a long line so I soon came to realize this was a good choice. While we stood in line, some people came in and stood in a line for take out orders. They somehow seem to wait just as long as we did. My nephew ordered wings and fries. I opted to order some other than wings because I just did not want wings. So, I decided to try of all things, the philly cheesesteak and onion rings. My mother jumped on the bandwagon and wanted a philly too. I ordered the fried okra for her because I wanted to try them and I figured ordering them for her "looked better". But I knew she would be full with just the sandwich. The Philly was delicious! I would rank it with one of the best I have ever eaten. I battle with if that was because I expected mediocrity. But, I found the bread to be super soft and the steak to be grinded just right. The onion rings were pretty good but the okra was all of that. I've had to been to ABW maybe 20 times in my life so far. This is my local wing place and I have yet to find another establishment that makes wings as good as them. I love the traditional wings but the boneless wings here are the true testament to greatness. Between the size of the boneless wings and the seemingly endless choices of flavors there's something for everyone. I'm a honey barbecue kind of guy and theirs is perfection. It's the perfect amount of sweetness and tanginess without being too overbearing. The staff here is always light hearted and out going . I have had maybe 1 cashier over the couple of years that I've gone here that has not had great customer service. they are always playing any sports events you can think of and want to watch on the many TVs.
