They have a paper sign in the window that says they are closed on Mondays.

Second time and the food is still delicious. We are also very pleased with the portion sizes. Thankful they have a family meal and Hawaiian drinks.

This place is tucked in a corner by trees that blocked the sign from multiple angles. I had to call and ask for directions from the parking lot and the guy was nice. The Hawaiian BBQ was pretty salty, but everything else was great! The cabbage, rice, broccoli, and macaroni salad balanced it into a great-tasting plate. I wish there were more Hawaiian places here but am kind of content with the Hawaiian restaurants in GA so far.

So exciting to have a good Hawaiian BBQ spot close to home. Service was great, Food was . You can miss the restaurant as they currently are in the process of changing their sign over but it is the old Sweet Fresh location. Seating is fairly limited and not great for large parties but we noticed that a lot of the business was to-go orders (they are on DoorDash ). Food portion was perfect for the price.

Relatively limited menu but everything they do is great with generous portions. Will definitely go again if I'm ever in the area.

The ramen soaked up all the flavor, and the chicken stayed crispy while being coated in the sauce. It had the perfect balance of creaminess and spice without being overwhelming. We have eaten at the Suwanee/Johns Creek location so many times. I've taken my family when they're visiting from out of town. This location is inside the forum, and it's in a cool little "food hall" where there are many offerings of different cultures, cuisines, and options. However, we wanted to avoid the mess on Medlock Bridge Rd so we chose to go from Duluth down to the Forum/Politan Row. Parking is always hit or miss in the lot there, but it's free. There is a bar in the middle of the hall if you're so inclined to indulge. Really cozy and I imagine it's busy when there's a giant lunch rush or dinner rush. We went around 3. Josh was at the counter, talking us through the food. We have eaten so many times here but it never hurts to hear someone talk about the offerings. You can't get Mala flavor here, or buldak (I think) versus the other locations. My buddy is an honorary Korean. He loves Korean food, all kinds- and he wanted to try the K fries, along with the kimchi fried rice. We always order just wings so that the fry time is shorter than a full chicken. So we ordered the chef special- spicy. Food came out about 12-15 minutes later, and it was picture perfect! We never had the fries before and let me tell you they are so crispy even with the toppings. As you continue to eat these toppings still work their way down to the lower level. But for those who don't like Kimchi, get a side of plain fries- they're that good! The kimchi fried rice is always spectacular. Beautiful fried egg on top, with a runny yolk that will mix in with the temperature and spicy hot fried rice. It's never a bad idea to get this with your wings. Also, you have the option to get the chicken not tossed and sauced- can dip into sauce if you want to maintain crunch and texture. But, fully sauced still delivers with flavor and somehow even after 20 minutes of eating the wings were still hot in the middle. We know that the spice level runs hotter than you think, and Josh warned us about that too- but we went with the spicy wings. It's so hot out, we were tired from working out, and now we were sniffling and drinking lots of water! Next time, we will go medium. I haven't learned my lesson bc once I ordered medium for my nieces and nephews and they were mowing the food down but the spice was painful for them (12, 10, and 6 at the time). Josh was telling us that sometimes you can order chicken fried rice instead of the Kimchi fried rice for a change in spice level- made sense. He's a good dude. Easy to talk with and knows his stuff. I'll be back here, we decided next time to mix up some of the different foods from the many stands and just go for a big potluck with friends next time. But we will center it around Kimchi Red! We had a TON of leftovers, and Josh gave us boxes lined with parchment paper (beautiful touch) so we could split everything and have an entire meal once again in the coming days. A giant "THANK YOU" to Josh and the kitchen team here at Kimchi Red Politan Row in the Forum. It's great to see Korean culture and good grow in popularity and places and people like this team here help that positive momentum! Support small businesses! See my photos with the review!

The food truck arrived and they set up quickly and efficiently. Yes, you could smell the wonderful grill going and the food did not disappoint. Edee himself, was out at our event and he was kind, pleasant and efficient. (BTW, thank you for your service ~ Semper Fi!). His crew "D" and Tammy were pleasant and just wonderful to work with. I hadn't been on Harbins Road in…read morequite some time, so it took me a little by surprise to see the once abandoned building that used to be a 1950's gas station open as a minimart. What surprised me even more was the trailer parked on the side selling BBQ! But the biggest surprise was experienced by my wife who knows how crazy picky I am about BBQ. "Seriously, you're going to turn the car around to try BBQ at a place you haven't yelped?" she asked. YUP!!!! The time was almost 7pm, which would have made this dark if we hadn't just went through a 'Spring Forward' weekend. The owner immediately apologized and informed me he was out of ribs, but allowed me to sample his pulled pork and chopped chicken. After looking over his menu board my eyes were drawn in by the words RIB TIPS. "I can't believe you have rib tips on your menu!" I exclaimed. "We sure do, where are you from?" he asked. "Chicago, where rib tips are a staple item on all true BBQ restaurant menus." Ironically one of his regular customers (who also happened to be from Chicago) walked up during this exchange and joined in with a little spirited banter of her own. We compared notes of our favorite Chicago BBQ restaurants and found we were in complete agreement. So why did I say I knew I was going to like this place even before I tasted the food? Well, before handing me a generous portion of sample meats, he insisted I try them WITHOUT the sauce. How did he know I prefer to taste BBQ that way? That is practically my BBQ pledge of honor: ----- I pledge allegiance, to the taste, of pork spare ribs everywhere! And to the smoky goodness, for which they stand, unsauced, with tenderness, and well-seasoned flavor for all! ----- Satisfied with the flavor, it was only then he revealed to me there were just a few tips remaining from earlier in the day. He removed them from hiding in a thermal container wrapped snuggly in Reynold's aluminum foil. I took them home along with homemade mac n' cheese and baked beans as my sides. I reheated them in the microwave for 2 minutes on 40% power. The rib tips and sides were so much better than I expected. So good in fact that I returned the following day for more of the same. I was also pleased this time he did have ribs available. One bite and his ribs had me feeling like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hevpHGPxRfU FINAL THOUGHTS I took a chance on a small business and scored a delightfully tasty surprise! The chopped chicken and pulled pork here are good, but the ribs and rib tips are my recommendation! The mac n' cheese is old school, kinda like my mom makes but with less seasoning. The baked beans have a cinnamon flavor that I've never experienced before, but really enjoyed. The owner assured me his meats are always ready by noon (Thursday through Sunday) and he remains until he sells out. If you are in the area and crave good BBQ, it would be worth your while to stop. I typically don't write reviews on roadside businesses because they tend to be fly by night establishments. Here one day and gone the next. But here's to hoping that the power of yelp will bring him enough business to stay put! 2016/62
