I can't tell you how many times I have called to "just ask a question" on an inspection where he wasn't used. ALWAYS helpful and takes the time to explain and problem solve. Wealth of knowledge. As a realtor, we are only as good as the people we surround ourselves with. Thanks to these guys - I am good and always getting better.

Our inspector, Angel, arrived early for the house inspection, throughly explained things to us…read moreduring the inspection, gave us recommendations from his experience throughout, and had the final inspection report back to us in under 24 hours. However, his assessment of the roof and chimney was done via a drone, so the roofer ultimately found more issues than initially thought when they climbed onto the roof to assess. Additionally, there are other limitations to their assessment such as if there's any furniture/belongings blocking items at the time (e.g. the washer could not be assessed because the seller had left clothes in it). Both these things, however, wouldn't be unique to Stone Inspections, but just an issue with the inspection process overall. Josh, as a certified mold assessor, was also able to help ease our concerns about potential mold/mildew. Our radon tests were picked up on Monday, as the lab is closed over the weekend, and brought directly to the lab, so that we were able to get the results later that evening. Lisa, the business manager, was also very responsive and helpful. She was understanding of the tight timeline the sellers were on, and thus, we were on. She was transparent about what availability she had and tried to work with us. She was also able to provide some referrals to contractors so that we could get estimates on repairs/replacements we needed. Everyone at Stone Inspections has been pleasant to work with during my husband and my process to buy our first home. Would recommend & use again should we need another house inspection.

He was pleased…read morewith the results and we thought we would try again as it had been years and we wanted to test the water again for general quality. We called together and were transferred to a man who seemed to be the office expert. He told us that we could run the water for 10 minutes and fill two poland springs bottles with water and bring them for testing. I walked in with the water and there was one gentleman in the office. I told him I wanted to test our well water and presented the poland springs bottles. Here's where things started to get frustrating. He asked what we wanted to test them for- noting that since my bottles were not sanitized the only thing he could test the water for was lead. He was abrasive and rude- didn't offer any solutions and felt overall chauvinist to me. I had to ask repeated questions to get him to give me that paper that told me the factors that people generally test their water for. I told him we had called and he -or someone- had suggested the poland spring water bottle method. He suggested I call my husband. It took me what felt like another two minutes to get the sanitized bottles from him- that he could have just mentioned initially. The whole encounter was demeaning, and completely avoidable if he had just respectfully told me what people usually do and what the next steps might be. Instead he chose to belittle and berate me for not doing it right. Needless to say I will not be going back here.

TLDR: Disappointing Experience with RTK Environmental - Incomplete Mold Testing Led to Major…read moreConsequences After medical testing revealed my wife had dangerously high levels of mold in her system, we hired RTK Environmental with the expectation that they would help us identify the root cause in our home. I communicated clearly and repeatedly that this was a serious health issue, and that we wanted testing to be thorough and comprehensive. While our technician, John, was responsive and pleasant, the testing ultimately fell short in critical ways. RTK missed some of the most significant mold sources in our home--specifically in the basement and garage, which later proved to be major contamination zones. Their clearance testing gave our home a "green light," and we were told it was safe for my wife to return. Unfortunately, she became ill again almost immediately upon reentering the home. After speaking with RTK about this, the owner did come to our home. While more knowledgeable about mold illness, he did admit that they were not on the forefront of this. Even still, during his visit he found more sources of mold than the original tester had. We have now been displaced for five months, including three months post-remediation, during which we worked with another company that took a much more investigative approach. Their testing uncovered severe contamination, including dangerously high levels of Stachybotrys (black mold) and Chaetomium--toxins that were completely missed by RTK's original inspection and clearance process. In hindsight, RTK's attempt to save us a few hundred dollars by discouraging more extensive testing--and their lack of mold-specific expertise and thoroughness--has led to tens of thousands of dollars in additional expenses and months of lost time, stress, and health setbacks. I strongly urge anyone dealing with health-related mold concerns to seek out a company that specializes in source-level testing and takes environmental illness seriously. This experience has been both financially and emotionally devastating for our family.

I would like to begin my review by sharing that this is the second time we have hired Abe Kurek as…read moreour home inspector. I left a glowing review during 2023. You can look it up under my name, Mary Savva. Although we decided against buying the home in 2023, we decided we would absolutely and unwaveringly use Abe as our inspector the next time. Fast forward 3 years later, we recently used Abe in June 2026. We had the pleasure of meeting his son Nick during our 2nd inspection. I really can't say enough about Abe. I find it difficult to top my 2023 review because it was so good. During our second experience with Abe, we had a different realtor. All I have to say is Abe is on your side. The jingle, "Nationwide is on your side" should be Abe's theme song except it would be, "Abe is on your side." I hate to sound cheesy, but when you are a first-time homebuyer, it's hard to relax and trust the process. Abe makes it easier to do that simply because he is loyal to you and only you. It's a huge relief to have someone with so much experience under their belt in your corner. It's also a relief to know you can have the same confidence in his son Nick. When you hire Abe, the relationship doesn't end with the home inspection. He fully prepares you to become a homeowner. He provides lists of referrals and lots of other useful information on his website such as what to look for during the final walk through. He assures you that you can reach out to him at any time- pre and post purchase. You feel like you are more than just a customer, you are now part of a family. Of course, the candy filled goody bag made especially for you helps a lot too during the inspection! Abe and Nick check every nook and cranny (crawlspaces, roofs, attics) They arrived on time and spent over 3 hours combing through the property. Abe uses his drone to check the roof. He even has a "back-up drone" just in case his high-tech drone fails for whatever reason. He is fully prepared for your inspection. He is able to explain complex issues clearly in layman's terms, or in our case, "first time home buyers" terms. He patiently answered our questions. His home inspection report is concise and easy to understand. This cannot be overstated. It includes a "Table of Contents" which makes everything easy to find. The report does not lack detail. It is well organized with very clear pictures. This helped us to negotiate repairs and buy in confidence. One of my best friends is currently house hunting. Her husband is a surgeon. She is worried that he might not be able to attend the home inspection. I immediately referred her to Abe and assured her that she would be in good hands. I explained she would have nothing to worry about if her husband could not attend. I highly recommend Abe & Nick Kurek to anyone buying a home in the area. They are professional, responsive and worth every penny! 5/5 stars.

But…read moreafter one phone call to Abe, I was pretty set and confident on Abe's Home Inspection Services. Over the phone, he was able to answer all of my queries and gave me a quick run-down of all the different services they provide and an accurate quote for an inspection on the house. He was also able to answer all of my "what-if" questions and ease my nerves by giving me a step-by-step on what to expect. Although my window for inspection was only 7 days, he was also able to squeeze me in for an inspection and got me my report within 3 days! I'm super grateful for that. On the day of the inspection, Abe and Nick let me join in on the process and even encouraged me to take my own notes. Every step of the way was a learning process for me and I gained a ton of new knowledge on structural info, safety, energy saving tips and more on the house. Abe gave me a packet and some goodie bags. The retractable tape measure with sticky notes and pen is really cool. He also put in some candy if you're feeling peckish, some hand sanitizer, flashlight and bandaids--all super useful stuff. Folder includes info packets, and even a final walk through checklist. He'd really thought of everything. Overall, I highly recommend Abe. His inspection gave me valuable insight on the house, and most importantly I gained a peace of mind. It's definitely worth the price!
