I really enjoy this airport. I can't speak for every terminal, but I've visited for Southwest and more recently the American Airlines Terminal B. It was DENSE with shops and food. Clean, nice. Really helpful, friendly staff at the information booth and shops that I visited. I like the way you move around here. Arrivals up top, departures at the bottom, and then departure ground transportation divided between the an inner and outer ring for the various shuttles and bus services. (I had to ask to figure out where to stand, but I liked the layout once I got it.) And the SEPTA comes right up to the terminal. I've gone in and out of here a variety of ways and have been impressed in my experience with the ease for such a large airport. And yeah, plenty of places to eat and shop once you get inside.

Most people are in long sleeves, sweaters, and jackets. I've even seen a couple of folks without them rubbing their arms to generate warmth. I wondered if it was a fluke, and did a quick Google search where I found similar complaints. Then passing by a woman (in a jacket) she said to me (unsolicited) "it's so cold here." Funny enough I was filling my water bottle and guess what? The water was warm!!!! Anyway if you're leaving from, or have a layover at this airport, particularly in warmer months, BE PREPARED!!!

Depending on which way you go you can get over 8 miles in without having to cross streets. Most of the people on the path are very friendly. The path does border a busy street & a police station which only adds to my security.

When we were here in August 2025, it appeared they are expanding as they had temporary walls up. They introduced new chairs as well which appear that they will have power outlets at some point, but currently, charging options are very limited. Once inside, the TSA area for American Airlines has their own escalator up to be screened. After screening, there are plenty of clean spaces to sit and relax before the flight or to go shopping for flight snacks. Three times were for business travel out of Philadelphia International Airport, and one time was for our Honeymoon flight out of Newark Liberty International Airport. All three drivers I encountered were professional, courteous, and EARLY (Harold, Bruce, and Bernard). Their fees are reasonable and their cars are always spotless. Uber plays a large part in my personal life (ooooh, we love Happy Hour!), but there is no way I am trusting an Uber driver to get me to the airport on time. This is about a rebound from a bad experience to a good experience, so that's why I'm giving 5…read morestars. I was flying from Philly to Tucson, with a layover in Midway Chicago. The bad experience was, as I was going to the Terminal E location at Philly Airport, a disembarking staff was doing a scripted conversation with a coworker in which he did most of the talking to her, but appeared to be addressing something very loudly about me: the fact that because I was transgender, there was no bathroom I could use in a conservative place like Arizona. Otherwise, the assigned seats seemed to work in my favor, in that I didn't suffer harassment from people in nearby seats, and the flights were relatively quiet. I actually ended up having the same crew for my second flight, and although the one attendant was naturally a loud talker, the other attendant was really sweet and got me extra tomato juice. On the way back to Philly a few weeks later, I was able to ask for seconds on the Oreo cookies and got two packs. One of the people in front of me was smart to ask for a whole can of tomato juice when they were doing complimentary beverages, because it's the same as the Bloody Mary mix used to mix with alcohol, but not many people in economy have alcohol, and not many people like straight tomato juice. I think I will make a custom of trying to get a whole can of tomato juice, and seeing if there are seconds on juice, too. The second round of drinks for a long flight is water, and the third round is coffee (I disembarked in Philly at about 1:45am, because the flight was delayed from 11:55pm. However, the landing wasn't quite as stacked or rushed as usual, and I kept up my tradition of using the mapping app for the flight, observing how far we'd go into New Jersey before coming about again).
