Be very careful with this company. Some customer service representatives have been unhelpful, making it very difficult to obtain assistance and information regarding mortgage matters. One of the representatives started hollering and fussing as if she were talking to one of her children. I reported her and asked the loan manager to investigate this matter. This review is in terms of hiring for any future applicants. Please know that it is a waste of time to apply to this establishment. I received a rejection email over six months later. How is that going to be helpful for anyone in need of a job? At that point you might as well not reach out in my opinion. This is a clear sign that either their HR team is incredibly unorganized, does not prioritize applicants, or they took far too long to clear out their applicant pool after starting the hiring process again. Kelly did an excellent job guiding me and my wife through all of the steps that were necessary to making our loan approval and home buying process a success. She was always available via text/phone and was always willing and ready to run Comps on potential home interests..even if the request came at the last minute. What was important to us as new home buyers was that we wanted to find a loan officer who was patient, who was readily available to assist, and who could breakdown all of our loan options in a manner that was easy to understand. Be careful and be aware of the unprofessionalism happening at Atlantic Bay Mortgage. I had a horrible experience working with the team at Atlantic Bay Mortgage company. I started with Mortgage officer George S. and his communication was very poor. He did not explain the differences between various loans FHA/Conventional and interest rates. Instead, he made judgements based on me being referred to him. I had to ask why he chose a particular loan after the fact. I would conclude his only concern is how it benefits him, not his client. Once I submitted documents and was approved for a pre-approval letter, George and I had an agreement regarding how to precede when looking at homes and making offers. On two different occasions he told my realtor something completely different than me which set me back twice in process of looking at properties and making offers. When George and I mutually agreed to no longer work together, I reached out to the manager Bob D. to help me find another mortgage officer within Atlantic Bay. Bob stated he would look into the matter and get back in contact with me before end of day. It was all a lie; Bob didn't get in contact with me at all. I had to call and leave a voicemail. When my realtor called the next day, she was told Bob went out of the country. I received a text from a Jim B. stating he was reaching out on behalf of Bob asking me for documents. Very unprofessional to introduce yourself with a text. I called Jim and he told me he does commercial properties and was only instructed to get documents to give to Bob when he returns. That is whenever Bob gets back, maybe within a week. I don't know. I said to him, Bob and I talked about getting me a property specific pre-approval letter. Again, Jim said he was instructed to get documents and will put me in contact with Melissa in legal. Not sure what Melissa in legal has to do with the matter. Never heard from Melissa in legal or Bob. A few days later, I got a letter in mail stating I terminated the application. I'm shocked by the shadiness of how this matter was handled. read more

This company was okay to work with to start. Pretty smooth process of getting the mortgage. The problem is the sold my loan IMMEDIATELY. Within a week of closing I got a letter saying my loan had been sold. Upon doing some research on the new company they are a terrible and predatory company. A mortgage is one of the most important thing in your life. Do yourself a favor and find someone that isn't going to screw you the second you sign the papers. read more

I first did business with Atlantic Bay in early 2016 when I moved to the area. I prefer to do business with a local company. Our realtor was the person who recommended Atlantic Bay the first time. In August, I decided to refinance and reached out to Cara Erickson at the VB office of Atlantic Bay Mortgage. The process was exteremely smooth and efficient. Cara made sure I was well informed at every step. From the initial contact to closing which was only 5 weeks. Cara is a professional and it is obvious that Atlantic Bay fosters and environment of competency and customer satisfaction among their team of mortgage specialists. It's okay to say no to a loan but a company should at least have the common curtesy to pick up a phone and tell you that.

Horrible service. Korge our so called agent lied to us telling us they don't hardly ever sell there loans. Mine was sold the first week after closing. The agent was no help in any of the process. Less than satisfactory customer service. I only used this company because the builder requested that this company be used. I immediately became bombard with several phone calls and text messages regarding submitting a loan application. Once all information was submitted no one reached to confirm receipt of my information. It began awful when upon answering the phone my name was mispronounced. To make matters worse, you promised to do all you could to assist me; then turn around and say unfortunately you cannot help me!! A hard hit on my credit for incompetent customer service. A figured by doing business with this company my loan would eventually be sold to someone else. Word to the wise, choose loan companies wisely. Sad thing for me, I didn't read the reviews prior to involving myself with Atlantic Bay and ended up wasting my time and sharing my information with complete strangers. read more

About the best that I can say is that they spelled our names correctly. Poor communications, inaccuracy, and changes to calculations 24 hours before closing caused stress and haste in what has been smooth and accurate in past closing with banks, credit unions and Quicken loans. Run!! read more

Worst service I have ever received from anyone. You are baited in with figures that change constantly up until even the night before closing. You receive final loan approval with conditions that you meet and they still come back wanting more from you. They run your credit multiple times which hurts your score so you can't just go use someone else. I'm kept being told my payment including taking out some equity would be only 50 more a month than currently paying. After finally receiving closing document to close next day it states my payments will be 600 more a month than I am currently paying. The two agents evidently don't know how to do their job and one is known in the community for having a tempter and being rude. They drag their feet and then blame you for something having to change rather than admit it was on them because you immediately gave them what they requested. BBB has had complaints on this company for shady dealings. Recommend using another company than deal with the drama and anxiety from this place. read more

My fiance and I are purchasing our very first home with our two children. What should have been an exciting new chapter in our lives, turned into one of the worst experiences. Randy our Mortgage Broker was beyond incompetent. He did not explain the process or give appropriate time lines of what we should expect. On top of not understanding the process Randy locked us into a loan with the WRONG ADDRESS 12 days prior to closing. Due to this error he decided to expedite/rush order the appraisal in order to keep our closing date. Just when I think things can not get any worse 1 day prior to closing I receive a email from Randy stating that I don't qualify for the loan anymore. Apparently all my tax returns and pay stubs were not reviewed and he just realized 1 day prior to closing that I make to much money. Randy then gives me a quote for a different loan that ends up being more than the prior loan and over our budget. I called Randy to discuss this matter and you know what Randy did...... HE HUNG UP ON ME! He blamed this entire incidence on everyone else said that he went out of his way to expedite a appraisal after he messed up and then said that he would not write me a DENIAL LETTER. But it gets even better after he hung up on me he called the seller's realtor and told them I wasn't purchasing the house 1 DAY PRIOR TO CLOSING! Everyone knows buying a house is stressful so don't choose someone that has little regard for you or your situation. read more
