    A wonderful place to relax. My family loves to take in the fun in the sun at the boardwalk.

The clams casinos were the BEST we have ever had. My husband had the Grouper special. My friend and I had the eggplant parm and her husband had the chicken parm. All portions were HUGE. That's something you don't see today. We are from the North where we have great Italian food, but let me say EVERYTHING we ate was better than anything we've had there. My husband never takes home anything he doesn't finish, but he did take home his dinner this time. The portion was too much to finish and too good to leave. Our server was incredible. At the end of our dinner we found out she was Carlos's wife. Both of them came to the table and we talked. They are absolutely the friendliest owners we've met. They showed us pictures of their HUMONGOUS dogs. The atmosphere was perfect with Italian music playing in the background. Not so loud you couldn't hear each other talk. The entire night from start to finish was PERFECT. I strongly recommend people from New Bern to give Casa San Carlos a try. It does take a bit to get there from New Bern, but it is well worth the drive. You WON'T be sorry!!

The chicken was extremely thin with very heavy breading and honestly tasted like a frozen chicken patty. The red sauce lacked flavor, and the side pasta was unusual--small round noodles that reminded me of canned SpaghettiOs, with water sitting at the bottom of the bowl. We were expecting something more traditional like linguine. My husband ordered the shrimp Parmesan and had a very similar experience with heavy breading, bland sauce, and the same pasta side. My husband is a retired Marine Corps food service officer, so we do appreciate good Italian cooking, and this meal simply didn't meet expectations. Our friend ordered the veal piccata and expected it to be breaded, but it was not and the dish was quite different from what she anticipated. She also received the same pasta side. Her husband ordered the baked ziti, which he said was just okay. On a positive note, our waitress Holly was very kind and attentive. Overall, none of us left particularly impressed. With the prices being on the higher side, we were expecting a much better meal. We won't return.

Brennan Standing directly in front of the Carteret County Courthouse, these displays remind visitors and employees (and judges!) of the founding documents that set up the rule of law in the United States of America. Unveiled in 2024 and near the Veterans Memorial, the Beaufort display is designed to be both educational and inspirational. Local leaders praised the installation for its potential to deepen civic understanding, especially among students. These are full-scale replicas of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. And while they might be hard to read in this specific setting (online is awesome), they remain the most important documents, an "experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people" (so said George Washington). The three from North Carolina who signed the United States Constitution in 1787 are highlighted - William Blount, Richard Dobbs Spaight and Hugh Williamson.     Not accommodating for all vehicles. Our group chartered a bus to get the group there on October…read more4th, 2025. A total of 51 ladies in this church group. No place to park the bus. Really? We existed on the side of the main road and got off the bus as quickly as possible. When the bus returned we were told we had to move. Four police officers walked by, and one officer made her concern know insisting that we move because one lane will not be closed. There were still two lanes and the traffic kept moving. It was enough road for the outer lane to shift over and the enter lane to shift over with no backed up or stalled traffic. The traffic never stop. We moved but had to fine a way to pick up three other passengers, so the driver circled the block on the left side and we were able to wait at the stop light until they crossed the street to get on the bus. There were no vehicles behind us at the stop light as we waited for them. We then left NC Seafood Festival with a mindset of not returning at all. We had a parking problem in 2024, our bus found parking at the Police station, sad. There was another bus and they had the same problem, no where to park. This year , 2025 the same problem, no where to park the bus. The Seafood Festival does not accommodate all groups. Only if you are driving a smaller vehicle is accommodating. The officer was not friendly or understanding even though she may have been doing her job. Well, the other three officers response was like it was no problem because they could see that we were leaving. If this event is for the public and open to all, then please accommodate all, small vehicles or large like a chartered bus. No plans to return.

Although it rained earlier in the day before we arrived, it was not raining while we were there. Sunday the 4th 2015. To us it was perfect not many people decide to go out in the rain. The food... ugh fried everything. I even went into a few restourants and NO ONE had raw oysters on the half shell. Seafood festival without raw oysters? Needless to say we walked out spending nothing on food, thank god i would have gained 20 pounds just holding the food. We bought postcards from a local store and called it a day after being there for 30 minutes.
