We love this pizza so much. We live out of state but come to the area each year. Our tradition is to come the night before we leave for home. We get a cheese and pep to eat there and a whole pie to go to eat the next day on the long drive home. It doesn't look like anything super special, but don't let that fool you. The crust is perfectly crunchy on the bottom with a few bubbles on the top. I'd say we fight over the bubble pieces but everyone knows Mom gets first dibs. The sauce isn't sweet but it is wonderfully seasoned. Don't get me started on the cheese and pepperoni. It's so good. We also enjoy the antipasto salad as a side to the pie. Ordered by phone Wait time 20 min which was fantastic. Easy pickup at counter. We ordered the white pie and small garden salad and we were bickering over the last piece. This pizza had major parmesan and garlic flavor. It seemed like the crust was dusted in some sort of buttery garlic, herb, and cheese blend, which, while annoying on my fingers, brought a lot of flavor to the party. The bottom of the pizza was also dusted with semolina which brought even more toasty flavor and a classic NY pizzeria texture. In general, the crust on this pizza was the most like actual bread, not yoga mat-y white bread; the outer crust really reminded me of a good crusty loaf. All said and done, this is definitely the pizza I'll be ordering from here on out--especially since I can get it fairly quickly and it's close to our rental. The perfect beach pizza joint! The whole place smells amazing as soon as you walk in. The staff is extremely (and genuinely) friendly and the pizza comes out quickly. If you've never been to the Crystal Coast region of NC for the beach and you're accustomed to how things operate in NJ or MD this is like another planet. Not a lot of nearby dining options and things even in season are very slow which means that no one keeps late hours. We were staying in Pine Knoll Shores and wanted pizza. GrubHub has nothing. Door Dash has a few limited options but most of them are coming from over in Morehead City which equals longer waits and higher fees. No thanks. Door Dash referenced Roma as an option but said that delivery was not possible since it was too close to their closing time. Mind you it was only 8:20. I called the store and they had no problem taking the order. Fifteen minutes later, I'm there and everything is ready. Surreal that the lights are off on the dining room side and everyone is waiting on me so that they can close up for the night at 9. I hate to harp but I'm just so use to pizza places in beach towns staying open in season until at least until 11 if not several hours later. I digress. Why the two star knock off? This pizza lacked a lot of flavor and to me tasted like the epitome of "A-OK". While it certainly wasn't bad, it's also not worth $15. It truly is no different from the local place I frequent at home which is selling two similar eight slice larges for $18. I get it that it's beach pricing but still, too much. The one noteworthy addition to my experience when I picked up the food was the great conversation I had with the two women working. Very hospitable to take the time to explain some things about the area and how things have gone since Hurricane Florence. They were were first rate. Friendly and efficient at Roma no doubt but the pizza was very average and the prices are on the high side which to me puts it right at three stars. read more

Tried this place tonight on a whim. The food was good. The service was good too. My wife and I had pizza. The crust is a medium crust and chewy. The cheese was too quality and stringy. The restrooms where closed which I thought was really odd even under these crazy restrictions by the state. I've never been in a restaurant that closed off the restrooms. The pizza has a very crispy crunch, not bad if you want a slice and a beer to go. They cut the pizza in half which I prefer it to be left alone. We had eaten at on the rocks last night and they all wore masks there. I would rather eat at a place that follows state and federal guidelines for food safety. The good The pizza! This is New York style pizza with a crispy and flavorful crust. The cheese was not overly greasy which is a sign that use quality ingredients. Just the right amount of sauce and everything working together to make a delightful balance. The staff was friendly engaging and energetic. And though it was quite busy they treated customers like they were genuinely glad to see them, and although it's in a touristy spot they didn't condescend like sometimes happens. The bad The staff takes no COVID precautions. No gloves, masks, or efforts to sanitize high contact areas with the public.
