They are located right on the water and have the shellfish in bins with water to keep them fresh. There is a pricing sheet that clearly lines out the prices of all products. The pricing and shipping were very reasonable. We were able to ship four live lobsters from Maine to Missouri in 2 days! We ordered on a Saturday and they shipped the first business day so they arrived as fresh as possible. We were even able to add a note to be included with the shipment. We were here visiting for a friend's wedding so OF COURSE we had to get some lobster. We ate so much lobster prepared in so many different ways. Ah! So delicious! My father-in-law lives in Missouri and kept "joking" all week that we should send him some lobster since he's soooo land-locked. Well, being the amazing son-in-law that I am we asked the locals for the best recommendation on shipping live lobster and, to a person, they all said Atlantic Edge Lobster. We thought that sounded familiar as we had just gotten off of a cruise in the harbor and remembered seeing Atlantic Edge from the boat. Even the Captain recommended that we stop in. We made our way over and were met with some of the friendliest faces. We told them what we were looking for and they sold us on the right product; not the expensive product. That's how you know you're in a great spot. We were on the verge of over-spending and they walked us back a little and sold us what we actually wanted/needed. Kudos to them. We ended up getting four chick lobsters shipped live, overnight, for $125. Can't beat that price. Can't beat that service. Yup we couldn't leave Boothbay without taking any lobsters. Had to find where we could take some with us. Found this place while driving around. They're located like 6 mins from the Harbor. Its a large warehouse on the docks...fishermen buy their lobster bait here and you can purchase lobsters wholesale and individual. Oh and they also ship to your door but of course this is more $$$. So upon arrival this young guy with blonde hair...and facial hair(not the young kid) was able to assist us. He clearly explained how we can purchase them and pack them so they don't die and arrive alive and kicking. I even asked to see one of them which he then showed me. These are feisty. We came on the morning we were driving back home around 11am. This time there was a young kid there...his 1st day...he seemed nervous. He helped us with getting the lobsters weighed. Then the other guy from the previous day was also helping him out. We bought about 20 Lobsters 1lb and up, 1 lb of Clams, 2 lbs of Mussels, 4 Frozen Crab Cakes and 3 pieces of Haddock. They also sold us the Ice Packs and they packed up the Lobsters for us in our cooler. I mean they know what they're doing here, i would've been lost lol. The 6hr trip back home was a success!!! We made it home and all these babies were alive and kicking. Our friends came to pick some up and everyone got to enjoy. If you have the chance to purchase from them...please do. Lobsters survived the 6 hours drive to NY and we steamed the lobsters 24 hours latere. OMG. It was the best tasting lobster ever. We bought 5 lobsters (1 3/4 lb) for $90. So worth the experience as we are used to the 1 1/4 lb size lobsters available in Chicago. They were so fresh off the boat that we didn't have to salt nor did I dip it into melted butter. read more

as we ventured up and down the coast of boothbay harbor, it was decided Atlantic Edge was priced just right. parking in their own private lot, kim and i ventured inside to gauge what they had available and about potential shipping to family back home. we decided on the 1-1/4 lb lobster that had our names on it. bagged live and ready for travel, we took them back to the cottage and began to prep them for dinner. i ended up napping, only to wake hearing kim laughing, as both gary and andy were not in the kitchen as the boiling water was prepped. something about the end of a lobster's travel without their say... one attempted escape. megan kept her eye on it and played briefly with it before being scooped and placed back into the boiling pot of water. dinner was served. delicious and very flavorful. i ventured back and placed an order for a dozen to be shipped overnight to my family - as they will now experience what i have been enjoying all week long. they, however, will be receiving the 1-1/2lb'ers. i look forward to hearing what they have to say, even though i already know what to expect. i may be calling and having more shipped, if they keep their prices down and steady for those craving Maine's hard-shell lobsters! good customer service (quick and extremely helpful). thanks guys! read more

So this is supposedly the place to buy lobster to take home. They pack it for you and everything. Stopped and bought 8 - 1 1/2 pound lobsters and asked if they would be good to serve for lunch the next day. I was told yes, they would go in with a gel pack and would be fine. I did not see the lobsters before they were packaged but assumed they were good. The next day at lunch we steamed the lobsters--who appeared live but were not moving a whole lot as they were still very cold-- for 12 minutes and served to friends and family. 4 of the 8 were delicious. The other 4 did not even seem to have meat. The tails were more like cottage cheese. It was disgusting and an embarrassment as I had promised delicious fresh lobsters. I called to let Atlantic Edge know, convinced they would make good on it since it had cost me $76 but they said there was nothing they would do. The lobsters were probably dead and they couldn't stand by them or refund me or replace them. This was ridiculous in my opinion-- most of their business is shipping lobsters-- with no guarantee why would anyone go there again? I sure won't and won't leave it as a recommended place for our renters either. Go to Maniac Lobster or Robinson's Wharf instead. read more

I live in Boothbay, so feel a bit sheepish writing this, but Atlantic Edge has lobbies at a good price any time of year and they are one of the few places locally that will cook them in the off-season (once a day, but still they cook!).
