Taking 14 lobsters back to Florida. Nicely packed by the staff
    Rosie R.

This fish market is a gem! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the lobster is absolutely amazing. Every time I'm in Portland I immediately take an uber & my first stop is Harbor Fish Market

This place by far the cleanest and freshest fish market in Maine. The products always fresh and it's the best place for FRESH FOOD!! The service is top notch also!!!

This is probably the best place to get fresh lobster in Portland. You need to book 24h ahead for their cooked and chilled lobster. But it's really worth it. We had the $55 twin lobsters at Luke's and spent $25 on two 1lb lobsters at harbor fish market. IMHO, the habor lobsters tasted better! Highly recommend!

Leftover lobster and scrambled eggs, a perfect breakfast

Four steamed lobsters $56 was the best value in eating in all of downtown Portland. I only wish I had the opportunity to purchase more of the fresh seafood I saw there especially the mix cuts for $6.99 a pound of local seafood. Took these four back to the hotel and went to town. I grabbed a cup of butter to go which is a great option that they offer. I found myself not even needing the butter because the meat was so sweet and flavorful and they were perfectly steamed. So I just drank a cup of butter. If you have the opportunity to take these back to where you eat or even just sit there and eat them on the dock I would highly recommend Harbor Fish Market. There are many other items available for purchase as well.

Fresh fish market! I made sure to make this stop before heading back to Boston! This store has a lot more to offer!

So glad I found this place via Yelp as I would have missed it otherwise as it is tucked away. I got some super fresh cod, and some smoked scallops and shrimp. Cashier helped pack up the seafood in ice. Impressed!

Still moving out of the box in Texas - Christmas.

Amazing seafood and staff! Over the thanksgiving holiday, it was my first time traveling with packed live lobsters. I went from PWM to ORD. Mike reassured me of how long the lobsters would last, the packing, and overall care til cooking. They arrived still moving and my best friend was so surprised, and a bit startled by the live lobsters lol! She loved it! In fact her entire family enjoyed the six I brought them. So I decided to go for it again and bring lobsters to my sister and her family for Christmas from PWM to HOU. I was fretting due to the delayed southwest flight but the eight live lobsters made it safely and still moving! We cooked them up that evening and everyone really enjoyed the novelty of the live fresh Maine lobsters. Mike you are absolutely amazing! Thank you so much! I appreciate everyone at the fish market and Rosemont bakery!

I got two Branzini and some Halibut Bones last weekend, I grilled Branzini with Thai herbs and put some salt on the skins. Eat them with green vegetables and steamed rice noodles. The service is dependent on who is in a good mood or who is love to help out with any race. I actually go to m fish market twice a month.

Harbor Fish Market provides free parking for patrons right out front. They have a selection of fresh oysters, lobster, crab, fish, etc. My husband decided to stop by here looking for lobster. Harbor Fish Market can steam your lobster, for a small fee, but requires a minimum of 24 hours in advance. My husband was annoyed with that and ended up purchasing lobster at another seafood market (Free Range Fish & Lobster). But I do want to mention they do sell lobsters already cooked, but placed on ice. Not sure how long the lobster has been there and how fresh it is though. Anyways, the employees we first interacted with on our first visit was friendly but then not very friendly on our second visit. Prices here do seem pretty affordable here, compared to other seafood markets that I have visited in the New England area.

    Razor clams

Razor clams on the half shell with olive oil, parsley, salt, pepper, and lemon. They were so sweet and clean tasting. Made some razor clam congee too and it was delicious!

They have at least 25 different kinds of shellfish. The lobsters looked delicious. They have seasonings as well as frozen offerings.

The market is located right on the docks. It is a working seafood shop with wet floors and all; wear shoes. You can park right out front free.

There is something deliciously sumptuous about going in to a fish market that doesn't smell like....fish. And here at Harbor, all you get is Ocean scent. When it comes to seafood, this place does it exceptionally well. I mean...do I even need to say it? We noticed Harbor on our first night strolling by the water then planned to get our fill of seafood to bring home with us when we left Portland. All COVID protocols are set: plastic gloves for shellfish self-serve, hand sanitizer by entrance and mask required. We brought 2lbs of Steamers, lb of Lobster meat, Crab meat container and marinated Sardines that were all packaged in an iced foam box to withstand the long drive down. Thank you! Plus folks were helpful to offer cleaning tips for our Steamers. Hubs and I soaked in the sights, timeless ambiance and that fresh ocean scent at Harbor F. Mkt. If super fresh fish and that sea salt smell is what you're after, this place is for you. Plus, what better place to go than a market where the people at the counter have caught and cleaned the fish you'll be enjoying later?

I'm definitely interested in taking a trip here. I must ask, is there ever any Walleye sold here?

Walleye is in the Midwest in the Great Lakes, it's delicious and I miss it but here in Maine we have seafood from the ocean. It would be nice if they could fly some in occasionally as they must do gorvyge real dread wild gulf shrimp!

    Do they ship lobsters overnight?

Yes we do! Visit www.harborfish.com/shop or give us a call at 207-775-0251 x 2.

As a result the uni I received was swimming in brine; I would have preferred the straight-up uni I had before. I got two vegetarian dishes- both were disappointing: the seaweed salad was crunchy, flavorless and the Maine seaweed in vinegar was slimy and otherwise flavorless. I ordered these for Steff- I'm afraid she and other vegetarians would be disappointed. The whole dish of salmon roe on the other hand was fantastic- I was careful not to leave a single egg- so fresh, so sweet- better than the Osetra and Beluga caviar I have had in Manhattan. Robert Deniro, whose diet I have read about consists mainly of caviar, would love this. It would take little effort to come up with more vegetarian dishes.

Usually I'd walk, but I came straight from work so I parked here. It's awesome that they even have free parking unlike many places in Portland. You walk in through door 5, turn right before the stairs. It's no frills. You can order different types of fish, or the sashimi set, plus a couple of add-ons to make your own "sushi." Once you pay, head upstairs to the staff cafeteria (third door on the right). You can use their microwaves to heat up your rice, grab sauces, rice seasonings, etc. There are some bench tables to sit at and enjoy. I am so glad I got to experience this-it was delicious! That being said, I would probably just buy my fish here and take it home next time to roll up my sushi and make it more beautiful. If you are expecting a restaurant with sushi offerings like Yosaku, do NOT be mistaken. This is a fish trading business that happens to sell some DIY lunch items. Still delicious, just come in with the expectation that they are selling and packaging fish, it smells fishy, it is a workplace.

The place looked clean and the guy was nice enought but the lobster was slimy and smelled bad. I knew better but we ate some and we got very sick.
