Monday it was my Retinal Specialist, Dr. Schwartz, and today it was my eye surgeon, Dr. Belson. When Dr. Schwartz pronounces me STABLE for another 6 months and Dr. Belson says that with even my eye issues stacked against me, I see almost 20/20 corrected, I am one HAPPY old woman!! Unfortunately, you can't ignore vision problems but I am cared for by the best, so I know that if something weird pops up, my eye care team which also includes Dr. Taylor, my optometrist, we can address it. Having had multiple outpatient procedures at multiple different facilities who have not required "imprisonment", I am amazed at the lack of considerat I on for my time. In some of my prior experiences, I even had different people drop me off and pick me up!!!!! In addition, the waiting room temperature is unbearable. My former eye doctor didn't have notes from the fall so I contacted Delaware Eye Clinics. My appointment was Friday. I walked in and the office was very crowded. Patients started to be called back. I waited for maybe a half hour to start my appointment, but that's not unusual for other doctors I see. Then I was called back and I started my testing and all the initial health questions were asked since I guess I was a new patient. Then I met Dr. Smith and we discussed my concerns with my left eye. He was thorough in my testing and discussed everything he saw. He showed me the pictures of my eye. He made me feel very relaxed. I now have a new eye doctor.

I was fortunate to have contacted Heather Seiver who was instrumental in getting me an appointment. On that very first appointment I met very professional individuals at this office who made it easy to decide and move forward. I had my first right eye surgery on 4/19/23 and the next today 5/3/2023. Both surgeries went very well. In a few more days I'll know more but it appears I may not need my bi-focal glasses anymore. I decided to go with the Multi-Focal lenses although they have more advance light adjustable lenses too. During my first visit and subsequently I also met Amber a Lead technician here for 19+ years who explained the various lenses as part of my early education. I highly recommend this practice especially Dr. Smith. Everyone is highly trained, very professional and totally dedicated to making patients feel at ease.
