TLDR: Large selection of plants and gardening supplies. Free parking. Expensive prices. I really wanted to love this place, but it fell short for me. What really bothered us were the prices. I have been to several garden shops in the area and this is the most expensive. Even their discounted items are still pricy. I ended up not buying anything and visiting a different garden shop. I was able to find most of what I needed here and more but they were not worth the price. I do like how organized the shop is. Having so many plants can't be easy to keep organized and healthy. I like how things are labelled and their large selection. Discount sections are nice and so is the free parking. The center was easy to locate and park. The setting us cool, because it sits along the old railroad post, and if you're lucky, and train may go by. PARKING ======== Can be challenging during lunch and weekends (because of the next door gym) but there is a separate parking lot adjacent to the shop and nursery. SERVICE ======= Sara, one of the staff members, helped me with my landscape vision and plant selections. She was knowledgeable with advice, suggestions, and maintenance. She also seemed passionate and enthusiastic about gardening, which was a pure joy to deal with! The cashiers were also very friendly and helpful. They offered me coupons and vouchers for signing up to their loyalty program. RATING: 5/5 OVERALL ======== We purchased around $300 worth of plants and soil, a bargain, considering how much landscapers are charging these days for just labor (they often forget it's post-pandemic with a looming recession). Their plant prices are higher than any other garden store or nursery in the triangle area, and not by just a $1 or $2.

I visited Logan's last Saturday midday and they were very busy. They are located in Seaboard Station in downtown Raleigh. The parking situation is a little convoluted right now due to the current construction in the area. However, they had staff members directing people where to park. You can purchase your items and then drive into a designated pickup area and have them loaded into your car. It's actually a very efficient system. They offer a wide variety of indoor and outdoor garden plants, vegetables, perennials, annuals and trees. They also have a large selection of planters, pots, decorations, birdhouses and yard supplies. They also sell garden ponds and offer installation services for that. I purchased three hydrangeas, one blackberry plant for the backyard. I also purchased some potting soil and some herbs and onions to start one of the raised beds we have. The staff that assisted were very nice and they helped me load all of the items into my Jeep. If you get hungry from all of the plant shopping they have an on-site cafe that has a pretty good menu consisting of wraps, sandwiches, salads and soup. I just got a "cawfee" and it was fine. I've become a big fan of Logan's. To start I will say they have the most helpful garden shop employees. Every time I've been in recently the employees check in to make sure you are finding everything okay. During COVID they have a special high risk shopping hour from 9am-10pm, for the elderly, immunocompromised, and pregnant ladies. I really appreciate that sentiment and it's super thoughtful of them to do that. I've been in a few times and I'd say 98% of people are wearing masks. They have signs up front strongly suggesting them, but people don't always follow the rules. They've done a great job keeping things well stocked. They have a solid variety and not the same type of stuff you see everywhere. They seem to always be restocking as well since week after week they always have a new variety. Once you load up your cart you see an employee for a ticket. You then bring your ticket inside and they have a great social distance checkout setup. You then pull your car through the gates to load up with all your purchases. During these crazy COVID times I felt very safe shopping there and my patio is so much more colorful with all my Logan's purchases! read more

I LOVE this local garden shop and its convenient location in downtown Raleigh. Plus, there is plenty of free parking! My friend told me that Logan's was actually an old train station turned garden center which I thought was so fun and brings some character to the place. I can't speak to any outdoor plants since it was raining and I didn't get to browse them, but their indoor plant + planter selection was great. I noticed they had some plants that are more difficult to come by at some other local stores or even online, unless you want to pay a ridiculous price. They also have just about every gardening tool or gadget you could possibly need and I found them to be pretty reasonably priced. We walked around for about an hour but I finally decided on a couple things and purchased a variegated rubber tree (which has been on my wishlist for a while!), an oxalis triangularis, and a simple white ceramic 6" cover pot. The staff was super friendly and offered to answer any questions we may have while shopping. I can't wait for spring so I have more excuses to come back and add to my collection!! read more

I love shopping here for all of my plant needs! This shop is conveniently located downtown and has plenty of parking. There's plants inside and outside sure to meet all your needs. You're bound to spend an hour here just roaming through all the plants. The customer service is A1 here as the staff are always ready and willing to help and answer any questions you may have. They typically carry a wide variety of plants and they are affordable. Major plus! They also have various planters and pots and other supplies for purchase. BUYER BEWARE! I bought a 6" Peace Lilly houseplant. It kept wilting. FIgured out it was pot bound. I tried to return it but they have a no-returns policy on houseplants EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW THE PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE. Not only that, they kept selling other pot-bound Peace Lillies after I told them about the problem TWICE! They make a good show about being customer friendly, but apparently not when it costs them money. read more

It's been seven months since my last visit. The house plants bought earlier in the year are prospering so I went to buy some larger pots to match the five previously bought. Logan's is a huge garden shop with a lot of variety of plants to choose from. They also have a good selection of seeds. The prices are on the pricier side, but still reasonable. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and they take care of the plants really well. I came here on a busy weekend, but with how large the space is, and most of it being outdoors, social distancing was doable. The biggest problem for me was checking out - there are multiple places to check out, but with how busy it was, and how close each checkout station was, it was near impossible to maintain any sort of distance while checking out. Their prices on ceramic pots are absolutely ridiculous. Looked at a 14" tall ceramic outdoor pot marked 75% off yesterday from the regular price of $149! Asked why it was so expensive and got the story of shipping has gotten so high due to Covid pandemic and logistics impact on shipping. It's been 2.5 years since Covid ended and 1.5 years since China got back to somewhat normal. Ridiculous story. read more

Plus it is at Seaboard Station - a Lovely neighborhood in Raleigh that I do not visit enough. They had pretty much every plant you could ever expect here... There was some kind of a hybrid of "elephant ear"that was this wonderful shade of pink that I had in my garden last year, and I didn't know what it was called and I couldn't find it... I wander about Logan's to stay connected with nature. No kidding. In the spring... remind yourself of the herbs and edible delights, the shade loving natural stepping stones of furry and tactile delights. Get a sense of the kind of plants that might look good in your own yard as soon as you take them home. Logan's has mature plants on offer which you might not find at other nurseries. Giving you an edge of instant gratification. Inside they have....wait for it.... INDOOR PLANTS. Yeah, I know, mind blowing right? But the cool thing about their indoor section. Is they have their plants categorized by light needs... moderate, bright light etc. So you can buy with more confidence. Now mind you...their prices are a bit higher than say, Krogers, or Walmart plants, but you can tell that they are well cared for....fed to grow and pretty awesome looking. I don't think you can beat the variety. It is also really nice to check out the killer amount of special homes for plants in the back near the railroad tracks (AKA pots). They have scads of awesome ones from all shapes and sizes. And if you visit in the winter...when you are done, go have a bowl of soup in the cafe. read more

The staff is SUPER knowledgeable and all your gardening needs can be met from tools, seeds, soil, pest control and more. Lots of pots, planters and yard art are also for sale. Prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Large selection of Annuals, perennials and indoor plants. It's a beautiful space evidenced by the pictures posted. Check out is simple as collect your purchases in one place, an employee writes you a ticket, you pay and drive in to load up. So thankful they are opened during COVID19 with additional curbside pickup included. We can all get our green thumbs digging in the dirt--horticultural therapy! read more

Plant selection is okay, but other products are overpriced. I bought a bag of espoma soil. It's $2 more than my local greenhouse and doesn't have a date on the bag. I hadn't been to Logan's in over ten years, but luckily it hasn't changed much! Outstanding varieties of perennials, annuals, roses, hanging plants, indoor tropicals, water plants, trees, seeds and gardening tools...knickknacks, tchotchkes, you name it! The only thing I didn't see was carnivorous plants but maybe I missed them. Will be going again in the Summer. read more

Logan's is a bit of paradise. When we moved to Durham, we had to leave behind some of our favorite plants, and we were in the market for some new green buddies. Logan's was the perfect place to go. It was cool enough outside that we mostly checked out the indoor nursery which had an amazing selection- succulents, cacti, stunning orchids, and tons of seasonal plants (it was the start of the holiday amaryllis season, for example). I came home with seven new plants, and two months later, they are healthy and thriving. The staff was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable - these are the kind of folks you can ask about, say, pesky white spots on the underside of leaves and they can diagnose it. read more

Just got into houseplants this year and when I tell you this place is awesome! Located in seaboard station in downtown Raleigh, their greenhouse is a dream! They have so many plants, ones that you've been looking for along with some new beauties you didn't know you needed to add to your collection! Their indoor greenhouse for their houseplants is full of tons of plants and they are priced great as well. Their offerings were l great and I found many of the plants on my list that I wanted and ones that I didn't know I needed! They also have a good selection of planters so you can always find a new planter to go with your newly purchased plant is needed. So glad I found this all-in-one plant nursery! It is nicely situated in downtown Raleigh close to the freeway. Their plants are healthy and beautifully organized on their lot, arranged by type. Inside, I found a wonderful variety of plants ranging from small succulents to large 9 foot fiddle leaf fig trees. There is also a great section for home decor. Outside, they have fruit trees and flowering plants. It's a wonderland for all plant lovers and home decorators! Their staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. There's ample parking all around. I love that they are located in a shopping area with restaurants so you can spend all day here. If you are in the market for any houseplants or gardening supplies this is a great place to check out. The big box gardening stores are a good place to start but if you want to find a great variety of high quality, reasonably priced plants as well as people who love plants and want to share their knowledge with you, go to Logan's in downtown Raleigh. I wanted to like this store, I really did. On my first visit I picked up a flashlight, and was asked if I wanted a "Loyalty Card" -- I laughed to myself, since it's tough to show 'loyalty' to a place you've been to Once. On my way home, I decided I didn't need the flashlight I'd purchased, so I returned the next morning with my receipt to ask for a refund. No refund. Why not? Because we're about to have a hurricane, and Emergency Supplies are non-refundable. I mean, sure, I understand that -- but we haven't HAD the emergency, and a warning from the cashier about "no refunds on emergency products" would have been thoughtful. But hey, no problem; if it's worth $16.99 (plus tax) to insure you've lost a customer forever: Mission Accomplished. It's really sad, though; I wanted to like this store. We visited Logan's in search of some large planters for the back patio. This center has a huge variety of planters available for every style, size, and shape you could be looking for. Their prices (for the planters) are very reasonable when compared with other local greenhouses/garden centers that we visited prior to Logan's. They have a huge assortment of plants, and everything looked amazingly well tended. The staff were ready and willing to assist in answering questions or helping to ring your order. Somewhere I once read a quote along the lines of: "Plant your own garden instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers." I am doing just that, and Logan's is a great place to start. A couple weeks ago I was in Hawaii and I brought a pineapple back to Raleigh, and decided to grow myself a new pineapple from the "recycled" pineapple top. I started out by putting it in water. Roots started to grow after about a week. It was time. My little pina has graduated to potting soil. The friendly staff at Logan's helped me find the kind of soil I needed, as well as a pretty pot in which to plant it. I also left with some beautiful pumpkins and gourds. Pineapple doesn't exactly scream "autumn", so I found the fall squash impossibly beautiful and appropriate for this harvest season. I can't wait to go back again and find more seasonal trinkets. There is something very cheerful and uplifting about having plants/flowers/fruit that you have harvested yourself. I went in one day to look for some herbs to start growing off my apartment balcony. It's so big and overwhelming when you first walk in, but there are always super nice workers available at every corner. All the workers I have encountered there are knowledgeable and nice! The store is sectioned off to types of plants from flowers to herbs to indoor. They have everything you could possibly need. Pots, soil, seed, and accessories! They even have little knick-knacks sold indoors and even a little cafe! You could just tell that they know what they're doing and grounded in the community. First time at Logan for their future gardeners class held for young kids ages four and up. NEW SERIES :Seeding ! The class started at 9 am and it was big turnout..so much so staff had to find more chairs for adults/their kids. Staff answered questions such as : How do tiny seeds become great big plants? What do seeds need to grow? At this class the little ones learned all about seeds and how to grow them. My 4 yr old got to plant Swiss chard and take home her very own started seed with a coloring book ! $5 per child covers all materials. Parents got a 5 dollar off coupon to use and discount to dine at Seaboard Cafe but it expires same day. After we explored the greenhouse and took a look at the many plants available. I resisted,at first, because I thought that it might just be a trendy thing. I got it and love it! I make Jasmine tea in the morning and carry it with me for the day. It stays hot!
