Hygienists are very friendly and go the extra mile to ensure comfort during procedures. Many hygienists I've had at other offices did not offer to apply numbing gel to sensitive gums during routine cleanings or put notes in my file to ensure other hygienists don't use the ultrasonic scaler on certain areas where roots are exposed. The hygienists at Healthy Smiles did. Dr Tam is great at what he does as well. He warned ahead of time that a tooth needing a very large filling could require a crown if the limited area of healthy tooth structure remaining were to crack. Dr Tam was able to maintain the integrity of the tooth while completing the large filling. Another tooth that already needed a crown was at risk of needing a complete extraction and subsequent implant. Dr Tam salvaged that tooth as well. He has a very calm manner and explains procedures well. The only hiccup I've experienced was an insurance billing issue resulting from my previous dentist waiting months to submit a claim and causing a miscalculation of my total annual benefits remaining. This resulted in my out-of-pocket expenses exceeding what the Healthy Smiles staff quoted me by about $100. After discovering the issue, the staff worked with me and decided to comp the $100. Great customer service all around at this place. I highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the market for a new dentist.

After 10 month since last cleaning I was encouraged my gums were in good shape. However, my teeth are not such good news. Getting not good news in the empathetic way Dr Bonci delivered it made it easy to digest and accept. I had planned to go to Tufts Medical School for 5-6 implants because of cost. After today's experience I feel more confident that never there is a way through this. I'm staying here and though I may only get 2-3 implants I want this work done by Dr Bonci. Atlantic Dental (AD) REQUIRES annual bitewing xrays. The office manager claims ADA requires it. The ADA DOESN'T require it. They recommend that if your teeth are not high risk, one set every two to three years is sufficient. Regardless of whether the insurance pays or the patient, requiring this annually seems, to me, to be a significant boost to their bottom line. The ADA also points out the need to minimize exposure to ionizing radiation. In my opinion, AD has lost their sensitivity to radiation exposure and the need keep it As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).

He stretched my treatment out for years and has cost me over $500,000.00 I am so disappointed with their lack of empathy for my situation.
