This is s a disgraceful 'business' practice - and shame on this strip mall that's considered one of DC's first neighborhood shopping centers (opened in 1930) for allowing customers to get ripped off in such ugly fashion.

That seems high to me given that metered parking nearby is $2.30/hour. I pulled out right away, but fear I may be charged anyway since the lot is completely automated. There is a sign with the rates when you pull in, but it is hard to have time to read it when turning in across the sidewalk off of Connecticut Avenue. Beware! I was really lucky and found free parking on the street nearby.

The Van Ness Square guard patrols through the garage, and employees leaving after-hours frequently encounter cops idling within a block of the area. A handful of spots available above-ground, which is slightly more ideal than the awkward zigzag you make for the underground entrance, and the 180-degree turn you have to make for the underground exit (thus the low rating). I'm really glad I drive my tiny Yaris because I see lots of people do 8-point turns to maneuver into the exit lane, and dozens of other cars have left scrapes and paint chips behind at both gates.

I wish they could walk me to the shelf I needed, and not just point in general direction, the obviously want enough. But one of the library visitors was happy to help. Very quiet library. Lots of places to choose. And staff that could be little better.

The stores here aren't as exciting as they used to be. Whole Foods is a reason to come to this area (they also validate for discounted parking). There are also some nice restaurants such as Capital Grille (fully validate), PF Changs (no validation) and Maggianos (across the street). Bloomingdales is near PF Changs. There are other high end retail stores on the block. The parking garage at Wisconsin Place is approximately $3/hour. Look for street parking first (not just because it is cheaper). The garage is usually quite full so you'll need an extra 15 minutes just to circle and circle inside the garage. Take a picture of the level you parked your car to increase the chances of finding it again. Take your parking ticket with you since you can pay at the automated pay stations near the elevators.

There is one positive review of the LOCATION of the embassy that has nothing to do with the quality of service. This one positive review is strategically placed there to skew the overall rating based on actual honest reviews. Notice that it has pictures as well because that is viewed favorably by the Yelp algorithm, how sneaky! The truth is every transaction I have had with the consulate has been a frustrating experience. I rarely get a reply to my questions by email, and the few times I did, all I got was a link to some instructions on the consulate web site that clearly indicate the who ever replied to my email did not even read it or understood my question. I find this to be extremely incompetent and unprofessional behavior. I wish the Egyptian government would do something to remedy the horrible image that this consulate is projecting internationally. The station itself is about as clean as you can expect for a busy commuter hub, and I've always found it well-maintained. There are plenty of bus options right outside, which makes transfers pretty easy. When school's in session, it does get more crowded with students, but it's still manageable. I guess the customer who rides metro regular really gets screwed as driving downtown is horrific by itself. The ads all tell us the train is easier with the endless delays, filthy cars and lack of any management in stations. I did pick up an idea if you don't want to pay. I watched this one go by while the dude in the little hut is playing in his phone. A woman has a small child plus a stroller. She sends the kid through the end turnstile which opens when the kid touches the card to the card reader. She walks on through with the stroller and pays nothing (aside from the kid). It's genius. Maybe Elmo is available to be hired.
