The customer service at Henry's was fantastic! My husband and I went in looking for a waterproof camera and Marco Gallo greeted us within a few minutes of entering the store. He then showed us all the options available and talked with us about the differences between them and really helped us decide which camera would suit our needs and budget the best. He even let us hold and take photos with the cameras so we could compare the feel and controls of each (you can't even pick up a camera at most larger stores, they are usually locked onto the counter). Once we decided on our camera Marco showed us a quick "how to" including how to properly maintain a waterproof camera, how to choose a photo setting, how to use the panoramic mode, and how to turn off the GPS to save your battery power. I have shopped around and have had pictures developed at Blacks and Superstore but always prefer the value and quality I receive at Wal-Mart. Pictures can be ordered online at http://www.walmartphotocentre.ca/ and are usually ready in a couple hours for pick up. Upon ordering the photos, you have the option of glossy or matte (for which I always prefer matte) and whether or not you'd like your photos to include a border or not. The only problem I sometimes incur is upon pickup. Since the Kodak kiosks were added inside the photo-lab (allowing people to instantly develop their own photos), the staff are often busy assisting the customers at the kiosks and more often than not, there may be a bit of a wait before you receive your photos.

It always entailed nit-picky specifics and the older gentleman at the counter was always so happy to help. He repeatedly went out of his way to make sure everything was just right and his extra efforts made my load just a little bit lighter. The quality is great and prices are as cheap as they come. When I got them I thought the colours seemed really, really washed out, and black sections of the photo weren't black, they were a dark gray. I wrote it off thinking it was the image itself and I'd have to do some colour correction, but when I reviewed the photos they looked fine, and when I had the same prints done elsewhere, the colours were rich and the dark areas were perfect. I don't know if they're just using sub-par printers, they were running out of ink, or if they were printing at a low saturation to save ink/ money, but I would not pay for prints from here again.

I drink a lot of coffee and I liked this coffee. Freshly made and hot. I don't typically drink lattes but I've had two here, that in itself says something. Today's croissant was soft and flaky. I typically avoid croissants because i typically get disappointed Ted, but this one has me looking forward to tomorrow. The blueberry muffin yesterday was very good and just the right size, not too big or too small. I could have had a few more blueberries but they can all have a few more blueberries. Probably just the luck of the draw. All that being said, the best part is the atmosphere. The interior is rustic and inviting almost asking you to stay and do some work while traveling. Outside, I found a nice shady spot and enjoyed the waterfront and the people walking by. The staff was friendly and helpful and obviously made a good latte. I would suggest to visit the daily grind when you're in Halifax.
