The staff were definitely ready to go but they never showed it, said anything or rushed me out. So nice friendly and answered all questions. If I could give Atlantic strings violin shop 10 stars I would. I can't express my gratitude and appreciation for the time they spent with me. I was there over an hour, I had come in because my bridge was attached to my violin... Maybe varnish was not dry before putting on the bridge at another shop??? They were so knowledgeable and were able to get the sound of my violin back to where it needed to be. While I was there, I was able to play a couple of their beautiful violins... From the time you walk into this store, you know that you will be well taken care of by people who truly know what they are doing and enjoy what they do. I came in looking to upgrade my son's violin to something nicer. His first one was a very low end instrument and it was time to upgrade. We were greeted both by the lady behind the counter and quickly afterwards by Ryan. He asked all the necessary questions - what size, price point, do you have the old one to trade in - and gathered information from both myself and my son. He brought us 3 violins, which he told me were around my price point but wanted him to do a blind testing to see which one he liked the best without the pressure of price. I really liked that. While he tested each one, which had been expertly tuned by Ryan, the Luthers were upstairs examining his old violin. Without a doubt, it was a true moment of the violin picking the violinist. The second one was his choice, and the whole process took us about 30 minutes to complete. I accepted their offer for the old one, put it towards the balance of the new one, and we were quickly on our way to lessons with a new instrument. To Ryan and the rest of the team, thank you. I cannot begin to describe the multitude of emotions I felt walking into this quaint and lovely little shop. So many vivid memories of when I was in Orchestra. The smell of the wood, the instruments organized so perfectly on the walls, it brought back so many lovely memories I almost cried. I had to wait a little bit as there were quite a number of people there but to me that was ok because it was very encouraging to see that the love for classical music has not died away and that it is still very much alive. It honestly made me feel guilty for having let so much time pass and not having played a single note myself. Thus the reason why I was here. I entrusted these fine people with the violin of my youth, hoping that they'd be able to get it back to a playable state and I'm happy to say that they did just that. Not only is it back to playable, but it turned out to cost much less than I anticipated which I'm thankful for. If ever I need rosin, a shoulder rest, or any other accessory, instead of ordering on amazon or online I'll just come here to support them. Atlantic Strings Violin Shop is a small but quaint shop filled with violins and cellos on Mills Avenue located just as stone's throw from East Colonial Drive. The store is owned by luthiers and area musicians. It is very apparent that they love both music and the instruments that create music, they are also a beautiful addition to the community that they serve. Best violin shop in Orlando. We have at least two great shops, Muni Strings in Winter Park and Atlantic Strings. My bridge came off (Flew off actually) causing my sound post to come loose. Muni appeared to be closed (summer vacation?) so I took it to Atlantic Strings. They put everything back together as I waited for a very reasonable price. Last year we took our Daughter-in-Laws violin there for more extensive repairs (took 2 days) which turned out great, she has played it since several times with the Advent Health Orchestra. While I waited for my violin repairs, I was shown a few next-level violins which sounded incredible. Can't wait to improve enough to justify such a violin. Anyway, were fortunate to have such a great violin resource in the area. read more

My friend and I had no intention of buying any violin or cello, but we just wanted to see the beautiful curated collection of string instruments for sale. The associate or owner, not sure which, was still wonderful in still spending time to show us the violins and cellos. We could tell he had a lot of knowledge, enthusiasm and pride for the shop. If you or someone you know is interested in buying a string instrument, go shop here. There's even tiny violins for little kids. I could tell the customers around were happy to be at the store because the associates provide a family-oriented customer service. They really take time to get to know any customer that walks into the shop. They also support local businesses and artists via their bulletin board of advertisements by the front door. I think the shop is also nicer and more personable than a major chain musical instrument store. Our first time visiting this store. I now know why my sons teacher recommends this place. It was worth the 2 hour drive. They are honest, very friendly, welcoming and patient while my selective son tried out many bows. I would have lost my patience but Nicole was so helpful and gave my son her attention and she guided him to what he wanted and is extremely happy. This will be our place to go when we are ready to purchase his own Viola. We also interacted with another staff (don't remember her name) at Florida All-States in Tampa and she was super nice and very knowledgeable and helped guide us with our decision on our future purchase of a viola. read more

Allen and his crew did a fantastic job of restoring our fairly old violin (built around 1798 in one of the pre-Germany states), which needed a lot of work. The before/after change is hard to fathom. Before, the appearance and sound were so-so at best. After his repairs it is beautiful, has great tone, and terrific projection. He fixed the contour of the top (it had sagged considerably), patched cracks (beautifully I might add), and replaced some items that had worn out. We had a great experience with Allen and Co. and would definitely use Atlantic Strings in the future if needed. FWIW, we used the Orlando shop. read more

Did lots of research for an upgrade violin for my daughter ($ 4 figures). I drove two hours to get there and it was worth it! They have everything from beginning to ones pros use! Elizabeth was incredibly helpful and patient (we took over an hour trying violins- then left and tried another nearby shop-then came back and took another half hour). They talked to my teen daughter like a real person and worked to understand exactly what sound she wanted. My daughter is very advanced and I know nothing about violins and they still made us both feel great about our decision. They gave me a good deal and I think I got great value.
