This is hands down the best Guitar Center I've ever been to... and I've been to many over the years. I bought a guitar from a Guitar Center in California that was pictured with a tremolo bar, but it didn't ship with one. The original store said they'd send it, but it never showed up. What truly impressed me was how this location handled it. Holden and Steve were absolutely outstanding. Even though the issue wasn't their fault in the slightest, they were incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely apologetic. They didn't brush me off or make excuses--instead, they went all out, searching high and low through the store to find a tremolo bar that would fit my Jazzmaster. When they ultimately couldn't find a compatible one, they made it right by giving me a $30 store credit to cover the cost. That kind of ownership, effort, and customer care is rare these days. Holden and Steve represent customer service at its absolute best. Because of them, this location has earned my loyalty, and I'll be coming back here for all my future music needs. The name of this place doesn't do it justice as they have so much more than guitars. They have ukuleles, acoustic guitars, classical guitars, slide guitars, travel guitars, used guitars, bass guitars, acoustic bass guitars, 12-string guitars, electro-acoustic guitars, resonator guitars and hollow body guitars. They're the Bubba Gump of Guitars. Wait, those were all guitars. They also have drums (electric and acoustic), keyboard, electric pianos, DJ gear, lighting, sheet music, recording equipment, microphones, monitors, stacks, latin percussion, cables, picks, pedals, synths, sticks, shakers and pretty much anything you can think of for starting that band or recording that one-hit wonder that you keep humming in your head. And if you suck, they have lessons so you won't suck so much. In comparison to the Sam Ash store on East Colonial, this place was hoppin'! It was actually crowded in the store vs. being a ghost town. Now, it could have been the fact it was a Saturday and it was nice out and that more people are out and about, but it was nice to see a business thriving. I will say not one person asked us if we needed help with anything. It was hard to figure out who was working and who was browsing. It was easy to browse as each section was sectioned off nicely and separate from the rest. It looks small but when you consider all of the different theme rooms, it's quite large. It's like a B&B with different rooms, but instead of Victorian vs. Modern European themes, it's recording vs drumming. The highlight for me was a random dude who came up to me and said "I though you were buddy of mine" which is usually something you don't do when you mistake someone for someone else, but he shook my hand and laughed about how he had such an awesome looking buddy. The point is, music brings people together. This place is like the Cheesecake Factory of music, they have pretty much whatever you want, except those Nashville Hot Nuggets which they got rid of. But it's always a good place to stop and browse. So is the Cheesecake Factory, which is next door. Walk around the bend and browse here if you're waiting on a table there. read more

I've always been a big fan of Guitar Center. I have been a patron of this company for years. In my experience, the staff have been respectful, friendly, and helpful. If your just learning, there are always deals on books, used equipment, and start up packages. Guitar Center also provides lessons if you so desire. If you are and intermediate or professional player, Guitar Center has what you need and if they dont, they will get it in about 7-10 days. Today we stopped in after lunch to check out their Holiday specials. It's been a while since my last big purchase; yet, I am looking at picking up a Fender P-Bass sometime soon. I'm still on the fence because of the price tag; however, I could feel and hear the difference in quality between the Fender P-Bass and it's competitors. I guess I will sleep on it some more before taking the plunge. If you have never been to this store before, definitely stop in and check them out. There is something for everyone even if you do not play an instrument. read more

This is a small store but it has a very good selection of everything. The acoustic room is pretty cool with a huge collection and they have a separate Taylor room with good stuff. The electric guitars are on display and you grab the one you like, pay, and take it home. Also, lots of different brands like G&L, Kramer, Jackson, Schecter, and the usual brands. The used guitars actually have their own room and they sure have nice stuff there, including nice amps. The amp selection is also really good, this store maximizes square footage and they have great selections. read more

This particular Guitar Center is located in the outdoor shopping mall Winter Park Village. It is over on the side by the Joseph A. Banks and the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. They have a great selection of musical instruments, everything from guitars to drums to keyboards and even sound equipment. They also have everything for musician types, not only in accessories and music books, but stuff like T-shirts, hats, socks, wallets, all emblazoned with instruments or music company logos. They even had a spatula shaped like a guitar. The prices are competitive and they have instruments in all price ranges and offer both new and used equipment. They also do musical instruction in a grouping of little soundproof cubicles. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They have been extremely helpful everytime that I have made a purchase here. This has become my go to music store in the Orlando area. It is a large store with an amazing selection of instruments and their team has always been professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend them and I give them five stars. read more

Just got my first ever electric guitar from them! And I wouldn't have been able to do it on my own without help from Allen, he was incredibly helpful! I am an absolute beginner, I've only ever had a violin that i never got to actually play as a kid- and a cheap amazon guitar that i didn't know how to tune and never got lessons for- so I didn't even know how to properly hold a guitar, or even figure out what was comfortable for me! But he helped out with that immediately, and was very sweet! He played the guitar for me since I also, don't know how to play guitar properly! I got to hear the different sort of sounds and vibes i like in music... Fell in love with the guitar, full sound and feel... With his help I knew it was for sure what I wanted to play! I explained to him what sort of set up i was going for and he helped grab me all the things i would need in order to have it connect to my computer and also have a mic that i can sing into! On Thursday evening, I visited the Guitar Center in Winter Park around 8 PM. The store was quite busy, but I was on a mission to fulfill one of my wife's birthday wishes with karaoke equipment. After a week of searching, I went to this store and encountered Gabriel, who went above and beyond to help me. Despite being busy with other tasks, Gabriel was welcoming and eager to help from the moment we met. He answered all my questions in detail and went the extra mile to advise me on the best equipment, covering everything from pricing and condition to various styles, configurations, and sound quality. I don't typically write reviews, but Gabriel's dedication--especially as the store was nearing closing time--was truly impressive and deserves recognition. His willingness to help, despite the late hour and his own responsibilities, shows how exceptional the service is at this Guitar Center. I ended up going over my budget but and was able to get premium quality products. Most importantly, my wife had a fantastic time singing karaoke on her birthday! Terrible service. Kyler manager for lack of a better word. Never followed up. Just wanted to get an offer on my 1990 Firebird. No email, no reply. Tried calling the store to speak to him and as usual the employees play the part that their too busy. After finally getting Kyler on the phone his response was sorry the pictures I took of your guitar never got sent ? From there I kindly said okay here's my number please let me know what's going on. No call, No email. He pulled the old check your spam lol. A 30 min drive to and from. What a waste of my time. I'm beginning to understand why people are going to Guitar Center less and less it's just much more convenient to order through Amazon or elsewhere. My name is Seraphina, I'm a multi-instrumentalist working on a solo project, I'm a 30 year veteran player, I've purchased upwards of $50,000 worth of equipment from Guitar Center, I've toured all over the place, as a queer transgender woman, I get no respect when I walk into this store anymore...it gets worse every time I visit... nothing stocked, the sticks were a mess... looked At drums and cymbals, not one person asked me if I was interested in demoing something, went to guitars, guy is stocking guitars, walks past me 10 times, never asked if I wanted to demo a product, guitar or amplifier... my budget was $1000 today.. I got no help.. We called before making the 45 minute trip to purchase a guitar, strings and a case, only to be turned away because I brought my little service dog. It was 88 degrees so she did not have her Service Dog Vest on. I offered to go back to the car to put it in her. That wasn't good enough. We were there less than 2 minutes. Will never shop again at the Lee Rd & 17-92 location. I purchased a rain stick online at their store. The next day I went back to there store to get a ocean drum and got rudely kicked out for walking through an unlocked door 3 min before opening. There are so many nice ways to speak to a customer but these little men don't know how. One little man just moved here from out of state, he needs to check his big ego before I do. I'm writing this for a friend of mine that brought his guitar in on Thursday 9-22-22. He wanted it set up and even supplied the strings and a note in the case just to be sure that everything went according to his requests. They told him they'd call him when it was finished and said probably by Sunday. Ok cool. He called today (Saturday 9-24-22) and they said "Oh,I'm sorry I forgot to call you" it was ready yesterday.(strike 1) So he goes down there and they tell him it gonna be 100.00$ ! A standard setup on a guitar is around 60.00$. They never called him to tell him about the price difference. (Strike 2). So he asked why the price difference? He said he had to do extra adjustments to the guitar,but yet failed to inform my friend of the extra work. (Unprofessional) My friend says whatever,just want my guitar. Low and behold he opens up the guitar case and the luthier put the wrong gauge strings on it,despite having the strings and a note in the case requesting he use them.. (strike 3). Bottom line,make sure you communicate your requests with the luthier that's doing the work. There's obviously a problem with this location and the communication with customers as the 2 1/2 star rating will confirm! read more

Purchased audio equipment that did not work out of the box, Cloudlifter. As a first time buyer this was a crazy experience to purchase some thing at such a high price and it not work out of the box. unfortunately I took too long to contact Guitar Center and they were no help to me sense I purchased two months prior. I was provided a phone number that only goes to a voicemail for help from the manufacture. Lesson learned test your equipment and probably just go to sweet water instead of here. read more

Update... still zero stars! Still a total dump with nobody working. Came all the way out here out of desperation... nobody to help order a part. Surprised I was actually able to talk to a manager and he couldn't help order the part... useless. Fire the guy and close the store. I was willing to purchase a used part, but they wanted "Full Price" and weren't willing to bargain on the price. Why would I buy the used part at the same price as a new part? Stay away! I went in last week looking to amp up my home studio. Gavin suggested a KRK subwoofer , he told me that this is going to top off my studio. He explained the coverage plan, so I am good for 3 yeas if anything were to happen. I didn't want it initially as I never buy protection plans but figured $79.00 was better than having to replace the whole unit out of pocket. He was super helpful and friendly. I know my way around a kitchen and around a plate of food, not a store like this......So here goes.... My boyfriend happens to be the musician so this place is probably like Toys R Us to him....lol. While im stuck at the door looking in awe (and just as lost as a duck) , he is already face first in some musical equipment. They seem to have everything he wants and needs here. Plenty of space in this place for guitars, drums, keyboards, and everything else to fill a musicians sole desire. I think its pretty cool that they buy your used equipment and you can trade it in for something new. The staff is friendly and hop through hoops to help you out. Sometimes I wish they would notice you a little faster though... I cant say whether the prices of the stuff here are reasonable or not. I can say that I don't expect this type of stuff to be drive-thru cheap. People use this stuff in professional settings so it has to cost something. If you are looking for ANYthing musically related (mics, sound boards, speakers, programs, instructional videos, posters and more) this is you place. read more

Probably the worst Guitar Center location I've visited. Service was inattentive, the store looked like it had been hit by a tornado (items strewn about everywhere), and a room full of broken keyboards. I waited 20 minutes for the keyboard department salesperson to get off of the phone, and when he did, he was unable and unwilling to hook up a Yamaha keyboard for me to demo. I wasted an hour of my day coming to this location, and I surely won't be giving them my business when I purchase. Shop online at Sweetwater instead. read more

Holding on to $700 and refusing to refund me. 1. I did an online order, on a Friday, of a product that was in stock at the Winter Park location. 2. They're usually quick about fulfilling this, so I called after the order sat for a day with no progress. 3. They said they physically dropped the item, but were able to get another one in from the OBT location for Tuesday the following week. 4. I asked them to cancel, since I needed the item before Tuesday (which is why I ordered one in stock). They said cool, they'd get on that. 5. Later, I receive a shipping notification from Kansas state, of all places, estimated to be delivered on the next Thursday. This wasn't even the transfer from OBT that they recommended (which, again I declined). I never ordered an item to be shipped, and this shipment was done without my permission. They claim they can't refund me until the item that I never requested to be shipped slowly makes its way to Florida. So, yeah, they're holding $700 hostage. read more

Today I went to buy some books of Ukulele and Piano for me and my daughter, but at the time of paying, my credit card was declined (I found it strange because my limit on this card is 20k), so I tried the other card my AMEX business (which has no limit, I can spend what I want on this card) and to my surprise it was declined too) I really do not know what happened, what they did wrong in the system, I noticed that the cashier did not know much what he did. Of course my cards had more than enough money to buy half of the store, they simply said that it was not his fault that they could not do anything to help me and they looked at me reprovingly as if it were my mistake, it is worth mentioning that before going to Guitar Center in Winter Park I had lunch at the Cheesecake factory and paid with one of these cards without the slightest problem. read more

For our daughter's birthday, my wife and I wanted to buy her a new electric bass. Happy to say, "Mission Accomplished" with minor effort. We had narrowed the selection down to a few brands, styles, and colors, which she tried out. Because of a special event related to lessons, there were a lot of folks to help; but, I ended up with the ladder, getting the instruments down and putting them up for the most part. She brought along her best friend, who engrossed himself in the guitar and drum sections; but, also helped with a few selections. Jonesy wasn't in; but, the manager that helped us assured us he would get credit for the sale, for having helped us out so much previously. We picked up a tuner and a new strap, so she's all set for Jazz Band if she makes it past the audition. Having the new bass will help; she's already practicing! read more

I walked in ready to try out multiple snares, and I had hoped to find a knowledgeable person in the drum section. I found nobody; instead, I found a bunch of kids and parents banging on stuff. I tried to help myself, but none of the snares on the wall were in tune, and my drum key was in my truck. After hanging around for ten minutes accomplishing nothing, I left. I am just now getting into music (currently working on my Metal/Polka passion project), so I decided to purchase something from here instead of Amazon to avoid having to wait for shipping. I chose to place an online order, arranging to have the item picked up in the store however so I could avoid lengthy interactions with any commission-based, long-hairs who could potentially profit off my ignorance and naïveté. When I arrived and told a man at the front that I had an online order, he gave me a confused look (as if wondering why I was talking to HIM) then asked what I ordered. When I told him it was a keyboard, he pointed over to a section hidden in the back and said, "Then you need to go talk to someone in keyboards?" BOY, WHAT A F***ING IDIOT I AM, HUH? I AM SOOOOOOO SORRY I INCONVENIENCED YOUR POOR, HARD-AT-WORK SELF BY ASKING A SIMPLE QUESTION. The "someone(s) in keyboards" weren't any more helpful. They too seemed confused at the prospect of this new, foreign thing known as an "online order." "Online order? Sounds mysterious!" "I thought that was only the stuff of legends. I didn't think I'd actually live long enough to see one in person!" After retrieving my order from the back, the guy processing the pickup more-or-less lectured me for ordering online and robbing him of "the credit he would've gotten if I had bought in store." Wow. What a class-act! How charming! Gee, I sure do love the transparency of a business where the sales staff don't lie or even try to hide from you the fact that you're just a walking dollar sign to them! Just so happens that Small Fry is taking guitar lessons and needed some gear, at about the same time that the BF has decided that he's going to learn too. Sooo, WTH! I'll join in the fun too... We ALL make the trek down to the Guitar Center. Mostly mirroring what others have to say, that the staff could be a little more attentive, and occasionally a little less hard sell. I could do without the people playing at full volume and without the makeshift indie band screeching in the back room. Guitars are priced from a hundred dollars on up... and up.. and up... However, when you get a musician/salesperson that takes you through what you came for, and then plays for you? Swoon worthy... Even better? Watching my mother take a ukulele lesson from a dude with a mohawk! Parking can be a little tricky in the evening as the valet's from Ruth's Chris like to take up the non-valet spaces. read more

I wanted to give a review to this guitar center over in Winter Park Village only because it's not like the others I've been to. Sure, your layout is generally the same, as the store is divided into rooms organized by instrument, however the selection here is drastically limited compared to other stores and music shops in general claiming the "center" title. One thing that has always stood out at guitar center stores were that the employees were always very helpful, almost to the point of being too helpful in to what they would for you. Here, however, I found the climate to be a bit different. I wondered around the store for a while and while I was looking for a particular part, I couldn't find anyone to help me. I was shuffled around from department to department and when I finally got to where I thought I would get a definitive answer, that answer was "No." Made it a disappointing trip and will probably choose another music store next time. read more

First visit to guitar center....was excited at the potential for some good deals due to the store size, but ended up practically running from the store after a laundry list of disappointments. NUMBER ONE OFFENSE....ABSOLUTELY HORRID CUSTOMER SERVICE... I inquired about negotiating on several used pieces of gear, only to be cut off mid sentence with immediate shaking of the sales associates head and informing me that under no circumstances do they negotiate!?!?! Huh. Preposterous at best, considering their inventory looked worst than even the most average of pawn shops. OFFENSE NUMBER TWO....HOLY PRICE GOUGING BATMAN!! After a basic google search on 5 decent priced items ranging from $500-$1200 each, they were higher on every item. Keep in mind, this only pertains to new items...in addition to these, I also checked 4-5 used items that were the highest used prices I found too! (And this was mot due to the gear being in pristine condition...quite on the contrary in fact, hence desiring to negotiate.) OFFENSE NUMBER THREE...considering their strict corporate policy of non-negotiation, one would expect their gear selection to be of pristine condition...one new higher end guitar had two pieces of the head stock broken off and glued back on and was still at suggested retail pricing. Half a dozen other guitars were very scratched, rusted strings, even missing parts like knobs and such, total lack of daily inventory management and maintenance, and again, all still priced at suggested retail. Overall a huge disappointment, I went in to purchase an electronic drum set, amp and acoustic guitar for my kids. Found it along with a used Marshall amp head, another acoustic guitar and and electric guitar and wanted to negotiate only to be rudely told under no circumstances do they negotiate.
