**Dined in early Spring**…read more From the moment I stepped onto the patio, I knew I was in for a treat--at least atmospherically. The outdoor seating area is genuinely one of the most refreshing spaces I've encountered in a while, striking a rare balance between urban energy and the calm of a tucked-away garden. String lights, greenery, and the gentle hum of city life in the background create a setting that feels both lively and serene, perfect for a long, unhurried sit. The service matched the setting in quality. Our server was attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick to anticipate what we needed before we had to ask. Water glasses were refilled promptly, course timing was well-paced, and the overall vibe from the staff was warm and professional. Honestly, the hospitality alone could justify a return visit. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite rise to meet the rest of the experience. Nothing we ordered was bad, but nothing stood out either. Dishes were competently prepared and reasonably flavorful, but they lacked the spark or creativity that would make them memorable. It was the kind of meal where you finish eating and have a hard time recalling specific details the next day--solid, safe, but ultimately forgettable [as evidenced by how late I'm writing this review. I kept looking at the food in my phone--what I ordered and where]. If you're an AF person.....just get NA beer. Everything else tastes like juice. That said, A. Kitchen and Bar is worth a visit, especially if you're prioritizing ambiance and service over a culinary showstopper. The patio alone makes it a great spot for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet evening out. If the kitchen can match the energy of the space and the care of the staff, this could easily become a neighborhood favorite rather than just a pleasant option.

If you're looking for a spot that provides walkable access to central areas, great food options, inclusive hangouts and a bustling environment full of both tourists and locals, consider adding this spot to your list. Coming from a humid city built for cars, I love a good walk through the city. A stay at this hotel puts you in walking distance of the main strip of Adam's Morgan, 14th, Howard University and more. If you love Michelin star rated spots, walk to Lapis. Want stellar coffee, walk to SoleLuna, into vintage markets, walk out of the front door on the weekend where tons of vintage sellers post up offering everything from clothing to time pieces to those passing by. A renovated church, the hotel itself is an architectural wonder offering unique room sizes, museum worthy entries and plenty of space for events, markets, popups and parties. I wish I could stay in our room specifically every stay in DC. The dual lobby concept is a little confusing, but not confusing enough to discourage a future stay, especially given that the art exhibit popup on the check-in floor features gender fluid portraits. The food is more expensive than I'd like personally, but pretty tasty, and fur friends are welcome to stay and bask in the beauty alongside their owners (can you tell I'm a sucker for a dog friendly upscale hotel). I booked this room at a discounted price with my company benefits. If you're able to book at a discounted rate, I'd highly recommend giving them a try!

The Line bills itself as a hip, urban hotel (rent a record! Look at this vintage furniture!) when…read morein actuality, it is woefully understaffed -- and, in a record heatwave, fell short of basic amenities, like air conditioning, which forced borderline unsafe conditions on me and other guests in town for a wedding in June. I checked in during Washington D.C.'s record June heat wave to find a massive line (like others have mentioned with their stays) and the air conditioning broken -- and it stayed broken for my entire two-night stay. I was never notified in advance. The first night, I asked for a fan and was told there were none -- end of story. (I had first called the front desk, and no one answered; this would become an ongoing issue over the weekend. No one answers the phone when you try calling from the room.) Over the course of Saturday I visited the front desk five times trying to get this resolved (7am, 9:15am, 10:30am, 4pm, and 5:15pm) -- on top of asking Friday night as well. Mind you, we're here for a wedding and the last thing we want to be doing is trying to get just a sufficient room during a heatwave. A manager promised one night comped and that an engineer would fix the thermostat. Neither promise held. I left for the wedding and came back at 11pm to the same conditions. A broken AC in a D.C. heat wave isn't a minor hiccup; it's a safety issue. At checkout I asked for a full refund and was told someone would reach out. That was over a month ago. I've emailed the hotel twice, escalated to corporate ownership, and called Priceline three times. Not one response. If the experience itself didn't earn one star, the complete stonewalling afterward did.

Dacha is a semi-outdoor beer garden across from Nat's Park and a short walk from Audi Field, making it the perfect storm to collect a massive crowd before a game. We arrived shortly before happy hour ended, about two hours before a Friday night Spirit game and were able to get a table. Dacha did fill up quickly, but with plenty of seating and an open section with standing tables in the center, there was still room to move around. With the glass walls surrounding us, we felt like we were in a garden. The noise level, while high, was not as bad as Solace, and we were still actually able to hear each other. Our server did not check on us as time went by, but she did bring us waters as soon as we were seated, which really exceeds my expectations for a beer garden. Our food and drinks arrived quickly and were super tasty. Both the flagship lager and IPA were drinks I'd order again, and as a vinho verde admirer, I appreciated having that as an option on the HH menu. While the skinny burger is delicious, the real star of the HH menu is the fried pickles, homemade and flavorful and piping hot. I'm eager to go back for another pregame and try the HH cocktail, perhaps sampling something from the regular menu as well.

This is a beach theme bar, with a ton of things going on. They had vendors, and one was selling Venus fly traps of all things. There's plenty of beer to be consumed. They have a nice taproom with seating, and plenty of seats and tables out on the "beach." This is a great place for a young adult date, not to mention a family spot. Dogs are welcome, and I saw a decent amount of kids running around. They didn't broadcast live sports during my visit. I did see people eating, but couldn't really tell where the food was coming from. I didn't want to venture around because I don't see well, and the grounds are composed of pea rocks. I did see rooftop seating, but I'm not sure what's up there. This place is next to a Sheetz gas station, and if worse comes to worse, you can literally walk there and buy food and no one would know your'e gone because it's so close. The parking here is bad. Real bad. There is an adjacent small strip small with parking, and a catering hall with a huge parking lot. I opted for the catering hall, but walking to this venue was tricky, because there isn't a sidewalk. This place has casual charm.
