I was hesitant, but once me and Teddy, my dog, got inside. We came across several other pet owners. That's pretty cool! Teddy and I walked the length of the mall while my partner did her shopping. This is one of those high-end malls! But they also had some very good food vendors in the hallways where I got the majority of my snacks and I even got some snacks for Teddy. I was hoping the cute little dog park on the outside would be available to us, but it didn't open until 2:00 p.m. And we were at the mall fairly early. It was a great visit because most of the employees were dog friendly! I'll definitely have to make a trip back to this mall without a dog.

Aventura Mall will always have a special place in my heart…read more Growing up in Miami Beach we often would take the S bus down to Aventura and just hang out. Back then, the S Bus would drop you off at the entrance of the food court and the mall was just 2 floors but look at Aventura Mall now! Completely unrecognizable to the Mall I remember as a teen. Especially since it seems like the average stores I remember are gone and it's all Prada, Gucci, and luxe stores now, but I'm not gonna knock it too much as I took full advantage and stocked up on my Nespresso pods while I was here. At least they still have JC Penny's. I was able to find a Miami Hurricanes shirt to bring back to my dad as a gift. They also have a Joe and the Juice store which I always stop by when I'm here and get a green tonic from them. I have to admit; I like how they revamped the food court so that its modern and has a wide variety of options. They even have a ramen kiosk! We also stopped by the new Eataly store, how can you not right? We didn't eat anything there, but I took advantage and bought some items they had priced on sale. In all honesty, I could see myself coming to Aventura often if I still lived in South Florida. I've always it made it a point to come here when I do visit and will probably continue to do so in the future.

It's well kept now, clean, vibrant and packed with diners and shoppers in the evenings due to live music in the main courtyard. Great mix of international cuisine. One would think that with all of the added residential buildings it would allow the retail shops and eateries to thrive but what we witnessed today was anything but that. Most of the retail businesses that were here one year ago are long gone and almost all of the restaurants were completely empty. Meter parking is tight but plentiful weekdays. After long walking in the heat, we managed to find a few interesting retro shops and great pizza.

Lots of businesses were permanently closed but was told the City of Hollywood is upgrading the west side of Harrison Street and Hollywood Blvd like the modern east side. I used to work nearby and would walk here everday on my lunch hour for something to do. But there really wasn't much here. Then they began to do a lot of contruction and I switched jobs. now i've been back, it looks really nice. A few resturants added, and a bit more reason to stick around. Mostly I come here for the Winn Dixie. Here's a few tenants: Winn Dixie Supermarket, movie theater, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, and Bermuda Bar & Grill. And a few more but i can't remember the name. Really personable managers Carlos and Willie are making sure the mall is now well kept as far as trash, there's a nice lady in a golf cart with oversize tweezers picking up stuff, nice. ...but don't go on weekends, there's an out of control crowd that rent big party boats, mostly black people for some reason and they come back totally trashed and really misbehave, hey, have to call it like it is! Diners sat at Duffys and other restaurants are exposed to the very worst of drunken behavior by those who are shouting loud for equality, as my Dominican (black) friend remarked as we experienced the worst of food at Duffys, "woah, that's not a good look for our cause''! The Duffys white middle-aged burger eaters are not the type to forgive their already ingrained stereotype and the shitfaced crowd disembarking are just what they want to cement their discriminatory thoughts. Admittedly they are mostly out of town tourists having a good time and don't give a shit how they are being perceived, shame really, all I ask is don't chuck your Hennessy bottles in the mangroves, its so hard to get them out of the tangled roots), oh and just because every other word in a song nowadays is ''fucking'' it doesn't mean you have to repeat them. Oh, and please, if you don't have the body for a thong don't bring it on vacation with you, my God. Try a weekday if you thinking about going to the Intracoastal mall.

We stayed at the Hyatt House before heading out on a cruise from Port Everglades... mainly because of the large amount of things to do nearby... enter Dania Pointe. Breakfast options. Cool places to sit outside and just enjoy the Florida sun. High end shopping to feel like you owned the place!!! Even just a simple strip lined with palm trees for beautiful views.. and selfies!! Dania Point is an oasis! They keep everything spotless. The landscaping is meticulous curated to keep the high end appearance too!

Besides the Walmart market you can find a Chinese restaurant (Hunan Wok), a smoke shop, Premier Cleaners, Age of Aquarius, T-Mobile, Las Americas Bakery, Dollar Tree, TLC Dental and a Star Nails. Plenty of parking in this shopping area.
