It's a very fun and safe environment for our kids and makes our summers days more fun! Our 3 year old enjoys the playground and the lagoon too. You have to PAY FOR PARKING but that's pretty normal for Newport Beach. We usually find parking very easily near here. I enjoy walking through this park near the marina in Newport Beach. Parking can be a hassle in Newport Beach and I always get lucky and find a spot near this park. Marina Park is a community and sailing center. It is a great spot for kids to play or for walking your dog because of its large grassy area. I enjoy looking at all of the boats docked in the marina when I walk through the park. There is a mini decorative lighthouse in the park that has restrooms and a tube slide for kids to slide down. Marina Park offers many amenities like kayak and stand-up paddle boarding rentals. There is a playground, basketball court and an outdoor fitness area. Lighthouse Bayside Café is a restaurant in the park that has great views of the marina. There is a on-site pay lot for parking at Marina Park or park at a nearby street meter. This is one of the best kid friendly beaches because the beach faces the harbor so there aren't any waves. You can also do a short walk (literally across the street) to get to the "real beach". There is a great play structure for kids with a lighthouse and big slide. There is also a restaurant here called The Lighthouse that has great views and good food. If you come here during Christmas time this is a great location to watch the boat parade if you're lucky enough to find parking! read more

We hung out here during Memorial Day and it was great. The playground is well kept so the kids had a blast. Even the bathroom was not overly gross which was a plus. The best thing was that the beach is also right there so you can enjoy the beach and park all in one. Kids loved playing in the water as well as watching the boats come by. Finding parking wasn't terrible as there's always people coming and going. There is a no waves bay/beach area and playground and of course the infamous lighthouse slide! There is no better park in the OC. It has a beach, in has a playground, it has a park, a restaurant, a par course, and to cap it all off it has a freaking Lighthouse! What more are you going to ask for? I breezed in on Sunday morning. I found comfortable chairs by the Lighthouse Cafe. I read my book, I would have smoked a ciggy if I had one. The park is really nice, it sits right next to the docks. If you want to deal with the waves but u still want be in area we're you can swim this is just right. Plus it's great for the kids, with "light house" that has slide. You can enjoy the park/ beach all in one. There's also a life guard on that side of the beach. The only down side is that there are lots of boats so it's hard to enjoy paddle boarding or kayaking. Also parking is a drag since the lots have a maximum of 4 hours. read more

Marina Park in Newport Beach, CA, is a summer kid's dream for playtime. As a parent, I most appreciate this park because it is clean, safe, and well-maintained. Kids will love the idea of their own temporary lighthouse with a slide. At the bottom of the slide, poured rubber surfacing will catch your child. Lot and street parking is a close walk away. The lots charge is $2.80 per hour or $28.15 per day for automobiles. This area can get congested, but the times I've been here with my most recent visit being in February 2022 I have went home more refreshed and relaxed. Clean restrooms and picnic tables are nearby. The area is nice. The bay view is pleasing. The waters are calm. The boats. The sun. The beach. I love it all - and all year long. read more

Excellent for practicing open water swim for beginners. + There is a safety line to divide the swimming area from the boat area. + The parking kiosk also takes G Pay. Neat! + Plenty of free room to host a picnic or party. + And free public workout equipment! + And it seems you can rent kayaks or SUP by the Lighthouse Cafe. Non-likes: - The parking kiosk cheats your $$!! My parking was supposed to cost $6.20. After I put in $6 cash and a quarter, it said I owed 20 cents left. What?! Then the machine just blipped back to the start menu. Without granting my parking. WHAT?! So we had to pay another $6.20 by credit card. The machine doesn't give you enough time to think on how to resolve that 20 cent debt deceit, then keeps your money! - Towards lunchtime, I paid another $6.20 parking, this time via G Pay, planning to have lunch at the Lighthouse Café. Then we changed our mind about lunch, but couldn't get a refund on that $6.20 spent on G Pay... They should offer refunds within a reasonable grace period. In total, that machine "took" $12.40 from us. - The immediate restroom there lacks paper towels. Gotta walk for a few min if you wanna use the nice restroom. Neutral: . Great park for families. Perfect place to launch your kayak or paddleboard. Water is calm. You do need to be careful of boats. There is significant boat traffic and some are pretty big. I parked for an hour and it cost me $3.50. Plenty of beach to relax. It is a good place for little kids to experience the ocean without all the big waves. Come out and enjoy the outside! read more

This is a really cool playground right by the ocean. There's a small strip of sand to hang out. The lighthouse is really cool and where the restrooms are. There are a few picnic tables to hang out. The play structures have a rubber surface but a lot of sand. Luckily an outdoor shower is nearby right by the sidewalk and grass - it makes it easy to rinse off. There's also exercise equipment nearby. I believe a few stations must be scattered along the sidewalk. I can't give this place 5 stars because parking is just terrible! It even comes with a colon slide! - Paid Parking is found here, small lot, but still had a few open spaces even on a busy day. - Safe park, while we were there was police causally patrolling and taking action if anything looked out of place. - Clean park, which seemed to be a theme in Newport Beach. - Views from the top of the bathroom are worth the quick stop here. read more

Great beach and park area if you have little ones. The water is calm so they can play in the sand without worrying about the waves. Large grassy areas. There was soccer practice going on in each field while we were there. They have a restaurant and clean indoor restrooms as well. There is a private parking lot and to pay you need to know your license plate number so keep that in mind before heading to the pay station. I think it was somewhere around 3$ and hr. You can also pay/add time through the park mobile app. Definitely recommend this little beach and park area. read more

I love this park, I found it accidentally by being in the area....since then I have been here once more. It is located in Newport Beach on Balboa Peninsula. The park has metered parking that is free after 6:00pm, the restrooms are in the front of the parking lot and have been clean both times I was here. This park is kind of small, with picnic tables...you can sit and watch the marina and the ocean as boats sail in and out. There is green grass, the sand, not to mention the clear clean water from the marina. There is also a restaurant on site with outside dining on the patios. There is a play area for the small kids and a lighthouse for the big kids, the landscape is well manicured surrounding the parking lot, restrooms and the event center up stairs. This is appears to be a very safe park with the Sheriff Harbor Station located right next door. read more

The best park in Newport for a handful of reasons. They never shut down during covid. They have Lighthouse Cafe right next door for your day drinking rituals. The beach at Mothers is only footsteps away and the parking and bathrooms are real easy to locate on each side of the beach and park. Careful with the tricky lurking crowd of ball players at the basketball hoop and the occasional jellyfish in the water during certain tides and you'll be golden. read more

Love taking our kids here since there's a playground right off the beach with calm water. They also love sliding down from the lighthouse.

For the location alone it gets 5 stars. If you get lucky some street parking is free otherwise you pay per hour. The play structures are smaller in person than in pictures, but still fun. The lighthouse view and slide are unique. OC is just more laid back, so people tend to be friendlier in general. On a hot day you get the best of both worlds: a park and the beach. With part of the park along the shore of Newport/Balboa Island you can sit in the sand or water and enjoy it w/o waves. More appropriate for younger kids, but the atmosphere is breathtaking. read more

My cousin rented the 2nd floor event room and grass area for her wedding last weekend. Rental rates can be found on their website and on the reservation form: http://www.newportbeachca.gov/home/showdocument?id=21410. Marina Park is the brand new community park on Balboa Blvd down the street from the Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel. There are a few pay parking lots nearby and metered parking along Balboa. The community park boasts a kids playground (checkout the lighthouse slide), grass area, boardwalk, cafe and sand area leading to the Balboa Bay area with boat slips. It's cheaper to rent the facilities for a private event if you're a Newport Beach resident, but not that much more if you're a non-resident. We had the event room and grass area from 10 am until 11 pm, with the wedding ending at 10:30 pm. We had to set everything up and take everything down. It was hard work but doable if you're on a wedding budget. Members of the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The staff provided us with some signage to direct guests but we also had our own that we put out for the wedding. They have a list of caterers you are allowed to work with and the deposit amount depends on whether you're serving alcohol at your event. You can also rent the parking lot for your guests as well, but if they live nearby, they can UBER or Lyft to the event. The wedding was beautiful and the sunset over the water was perfect. The facilities here are worth a visit if you're looking for an outdoor venue. read more

Came here for the first time to play last week and it was a sweet time. Brought the dog too, and found free parking along the street, instead of paying in the lot. Spent at least an hour here, and there were tons of kids and their parents. People enjoying the yachts and the nice beach nearby too. Can get crowded beyond 10 am. The lighthouse with slide is really awesome, although we didn't actually slide down the slide this most recent time, which means we'll have to go again soon! read more

What an amazing park! Awesome equipment, harbor access/view, public restrooms and big grassy fields. What more could you ask for. At peak times (late am and late pm & weekends) it can get a little busy, but plenty of parking and space. Expect to pay, but super reasonable for ocean parking ($2.50 ish per hour). The kids loved the slides, jungle equipment and sand! Only down side is no swings :(. Highly recommend checking this park out. read more
