I went here based off a suggestion from my coworker. The staff is amazing. They called me by name the first time I stepped in (i.e. attention to detail), I never waited for more than 5 minutes after arriving, and Dr. Hoang and everyone else patiently answered all my questions and never rushed through my dozen fillings, crown, and cleaning procedures. I also always got the same staff and that familiarity helped a ton. I hate going to the doctor's office but NEVER felt that way about Broadway Dental. I am finally moving on from this Dental office. I have had 2 bad experiences in quick succession that have pushed me to write this review. I have no issues with the dental work provided, but with their processes. 1). I got a bill from them because they scheduled my cleaning inside of 6 months, which is what my dental insurance pays for. I have had multiple conversations with their front of office to work with my insurance coverage timing so that i would not receive a bill. Such a simple task should be well within their capability but they failed. 2). I went online to their website and scheduled an appointment. After picking my date and time, I assumed that the slot would be held for me. This was not the case. What is not said on their website is that you will receive a confirmation email holding your time before it is entered into their own scheduling software. I spent an hour of my day taking time off of work to drive there only to be turned away because their online scheduling process is dated, archaic, and nonsensical. Now the good. The staff is friendly, the hygienists competent, and Dr. Hoang compassionate and friendly. I hope the office gets their act together so that no other happy patients don't experience this and are compelled to leave for another dentist. read more

Dr. Hoang evaluated a chipped tooth that was 70% intact and told me I needed a crown. I went to another dentist for a second opinion, within a hour he evaluated and filled the tooth. He saved my tooth for a very reasonable price. It looks perfect! Prior Dr. Hoang did crown a tooth that was also more than 50% intact. I regret not getting a second opinion. I think another dentist would of been able to fix the tooth, without getting a crown. read more

I get anxious going to the dentist, however the entire staff at BDC is extremely warm and welcoming. The appointments run on time, Dr. Hoang and his dental assistants and front office work very well together. They communicate well as a team and I appreciate it that I don't have to explain everything to each person I come into contact with, they all know what is going on. It was a nice surprise to have Tracy at the front desk in the loop with what procedure I was going to have and when I was going to have it. (Special circumstances because of some issues I have with my jaw and the fact that I am pregnant). They are in-network with my insurance and pay special attention to billing so that the patient's portion is as low as possible. Of course, dental work isn't cheap and that's not what I'm saying. The point is that you feel like you are receiving quality care and there is no fear that you are being over-charged. Highly recommended. read more

Always have a great experience (or as much as one can expect from the dentist) here. Audrey who's the hygienist is super personable and does a great job within in pain infliction. The orthodontist is really patient as well and they have state of the art equipment, always nice to know you won't get an infection from dirty tools. The front desk staff, especially Tracy, are really on top of things and easy to reschedule with and answers questions in a manner that tells you they enjoy and care about providing top notch customer service. According to Yelp 5 stars means "as good as it gets" and for a girl who's always dreaded the dentist, my 5 stars really does mean that; Dr Hoang and his practice is as good as it gets. They have enough flexibility to accommodate the busiest schedules, the entire staff is conscientious, professional and friendly. I went in a few days ago for a cleaning then went back today to get an old filling repaired -- they were efficient, but not at the expense of my comfort. I brought my ipod to play today and both Dr Hoang and his assistant (who's name I'm forgetting!!) took extra time to make sure it was working properly before starting any work on my mouth. They were constantly attending to my comfort, even while doing the work necessary to take care of my teeth. My least favorite part about going to the dentist is having to make conversation while someone's incessantly picking at my teeth. Broadway Dental offers cheaper rates to the non-insured, has an awesome referral program and wonderful people! Dr. Hoang and his assistant are absolutely marvelous. They have worked together for years and years and have a lovely attitude about your dental hygeine... I didn't feel judged for one filthy second. A huge plus about these peeps is that they whiten your teeth... for FREE. Like they actually make a plaster of your mouth, hand you specially formatted mouth trays, and send you on home at no additional cost. If you wanna google the bleaching gel it's called Opalescence, and I can vouch for the pearly results :) read more

I was excited to try Broadway Dental Care because of it's proximity to my house and they fact they take my insurance. My hygiene appointment was great, and Dr. Hoang is very friendly. I like the fact that they "hire" Benson High School interns for them to gain experience. When Dr. Hoang said I had a cavity (and I've had many in my life), I was feeling uncertain as to that diagnosis. I went to another dentist and had him exam my teeth, and he said "No, you don't have a cavity.". I was so anxious, that this other dentist took a radiograph and pointed out the region where the cavity was supposedly there, and there was an old filling, but no decay. I don't think Dr. Hoang was trying to "upsell" me on a new filling, perhaps he just didn't read the radiograph correctly. Because of this, I would not recommend this clinic. read more

Great clinic, very personable hygienists and Dr Hoang is super nice and always makes us laugh when we are in there. They let you choose which hygienist you want to see and they are all awesome staff - really funny and knowledgeable with none of that "tsk tsk" that you get at some places if your teeth aren't in tip-top order. Mine were definitely not at my first visit and they got everything scraped and cleaned without gouging my wallet or suggesting advanced unnecessary procedures. Along with that, when my wife had been postponing going in because of a back injury making normal dentist chairs very uncomfortable, they said they had a way they could do her cleaning with bolsters and such to keep her pain-free, and they were right - nice touch, folks! To make it 5 stars, I'd love to see them transition away from those "gift bags" of toothpaste and floss that are more packaging than content and also have more natural/eco-friendly options in it like Tom's (which has both fluoride and fluoride-free options). We simply decline the bags as we use toothbrushes with refillable heads at home and healthier, more sustainable brands of toothpaste & floss. read more

I second what Alondra said. Dr. Huong and his staff give you OPTIONS; he is conservative in his approach, and will never do a procedure just to stiff you. He is friendly, incredibly patient, and personable. I have severe dry mouth due to medications I take, which causes most of my dental problems, and he was very helpful in suggesting OTC and RX solutions. And his staff is fabulous, too. I wish I could remember what his hygienist's name is (Audrey?) , but she is so much fun! It is almost like having your hair done and chatting with your stylist. But with rivets of water pouring in your mouth. Nonetheless, excellent. The dental assistant was a sweet woman, too. There was a billing mistake (I have really crappy insurance) and my insurance wouldn't cover a procedure that the front staff (also incredible!) said they would--but they did not bill me for it. I have a disability that makes it really difficult for me to get to appointments, and rescheduled multiple times, but Tracey et al. were SO understanding--never made me feel guilty or anything. I need to book another appointment for a cleaning--there are externals involved, but as far as going to Broadway Dental, I have no issues whatsoever. Fabulous people, who seem to really care. And it is VERY easy to get in; they are accommodating of your schedule and your needs. Sometimes, when you have special needs you are treated like a pariah, a "difficult patient," despite your best efforts and attempts to placate the staff. It can make you feel really bad. But Broadway Dental has never, ever condescended to me, or in any way treated me differently than another patient. I applaud them for their service to the disabled community. I was searching for a dentist that provided affordable dental care for uninsured patients like me, and I came across this dentist and let me tell you, they're phenomenal! I don't mind going to the dentist because of needles and pain in my teeth and gums, but because it's painful for my pocket and I avoided the dentist for years! I was afraid that they were going to judge about it but they were very understanding and it made me feel good! The X-rays and dental cleanup that they provided were detailed and throughout. My teeth feels squeaky clean, and also, they detected that I have periodontal disease and stressed out I had to take care of it ASAP before my premolars could fall out. They gave me a good estimate on how much I would pay and they seemed to care about the well being of my teeth rather to milk out my money. I work an irregular schedule and don't have set days off. The folks at Broadway Dental have been able to squeeze me in every time I've called. That aside, the whole staff from the front desk, to the hygienists, to the dentist are caring, considerate, and good at what they do. I don't have insurance and need a lot of dental work/repairs and they've been informative and helpful with my situation. They gave me itemized prices before they proceed with anything and help prioritize problems. They're prices are totally reasonable (even for the uninsured) and the quality and care received is above par. The front office staff is well informed and just lovely. I get anxiety going to the dentist and feel totally comfortable at Broadway Dental and would highly recommend this office to friends and family. read more

I have had good experiences at dentists and I have had terrible. Dr. Hoang and his staff are terrific. I was able to get an appointment very quickly and everyone there was awesome- always gentle and really explained everything- I really feel like they actually taught me something about caring for my teeth- something that no other dentist had ever bothered to tell me! And if they had I would probably not be stuck deciding between a filling and a crown now!! So I really appreciate the time they took with me to explain things. Also, as someone else mentioned, they will bleach your teeth free for life (custom trays made for you AND they give you a tube of the whitening stuff every 6 months when you come in for your cleaning/checkup) if you refer someone, otherwise it's $150. So basically I will refer my husband and even though he probably won't refer anyone, it will cost us $75/person to keep our teeth bleached for as long as we go to this dentist. Which will be as long as we live in Portland, that's for sure. Highly recommended!! read more

OK, I'm the first to admit that I'm a total wuss when it comes to the dentist. I have been to several and had yet to feel totally comfortable with a dentist and staff. However, that has now changed. Dr. Hoang and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very talented. I recently had a root canal done, and they made me very comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Audrey gave my Novocaine shots, which I hardly felt at all. She, D'Ann and Trayci all were amazing to work with. I didn't even need to fill the pain prescription they gave me afterwards. Dr. Hoang really impressed me with his work, and his patience with me. I'm not an easy dental patient, but it was hands down the easiest root canal I've ever had. I went to the same dentist since I was a kid and needed to switch when I moved to Portland. I just went here for my first time and had a great experience. They were so detailed in telling me about the health of my teeth and described to me things that my normal dentist seemed to just do behind the scenes. I am a new patient at Broadway Dental Care, but this dentist has been great so far. They are very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. I had pain in my tooth/jaw and wanted it to be checked out, but my schedule is pretty crazy for the next month and they didn't have an opening that worked for my schedule until the end of April. After someone cancelled on an earlier date, the office gave me a call and asked if I wanted to take the cancelled appointment time since they knew I was hoping to get in earlier due to the pain. The front desk receptionist, dentist and my hygienist were all very friendly and professional. The dentist also took his time in answering my questions and going over treatment options with me, which I appreciated since he really helped me understand what my issue was and what the best treatment options there are. I'm embarrassed to say how long how it's been since I've last seen a dentist .... let's just say this appointment was way over due. I kept putting it off because dental health isn't something you think about unless something is hurting. I also don't have insurance and was nervous about the price. After researching several places Broadway Dental was the most reasonable ... but that isn't always a good thing, because you get what you pay for. However, there are always exceptions and some extraordinary finds and Broadway Dental Care is one of those exceptions. From the moment you walk in the staff is sincere and professional, helping with any questions or concerns that you may have. I hate that I didn't grab their names because they were both amazing. After being taken back to the room Andreea was super informative about dental health and didn't make me feel guilty for missing a visit, she just informed me of the best ways to improve my health and made me comfortable while taking the x-rays. After that Leaha my dental hygienist went above and beyond taking extremely great care of me. Leaha was so personal and attentive, it's hard to talk with all those tools in your mouth, but somehow we had a conversation about personal active lifestyle hobbies and before I knew it I felt like I had a brand new mouth. Strongly recommend her and the whole staff, including Sillina the assistant who was so sweet and attentive. Dr. Hoang was so informative and welcoming that I wish I would have faced my fears and came in sooner. This place is amazing. I hated going to the dentist because I always felt guilted and patronized and I just hate that. It actively makes me want to do the opposite of whatever someone says. At Broadway Dental, they never made me feel this way at all. They explained why they were doing and how they knew what they knew about my teeth without even the slightest bit of judgement and without making me feel disrespected.
