    Energy Docs

My wife and I are so glad that we decided to use Energy Docs as our contractor. During the summer…read moreour AC was constantly running and struggled to keep the inside below 80 degrees. Our ducting was also beginning to tear and break apart, so we kept finding pieces of ducting in our air registers. We called several contractors and eventually decided to have Energy Docs come see our home. Mike and his crew came and did some tests to see how our home was actually performing. After the test, he gave us a report that gave incredibly detailed information. We saw how much airflow we were losing from the house itself, how much airflow we were losing through our ducting, we even saw thermal imaging of where heat was entering our house through the walls and recessed lighting. He gave us estimates as to how much the project would cost, and how much we could expect to save. We were able to use the REU Home Performance Program which returned roughly half the project cost in rebates! During the project, the entire Energy Docs crew was nothing less than excellent. They started our project in early August, and spent the next two weeks baking in our attic. They would work until it was too hot to handle the materials anymore. With these conditions, they were still friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. They finished the project on time, and even slightly under budget. When they were done, they cleaned up after themselves and even did some repair work that made the house look even better. Two weeks after the project has been finished, it is a night and day difference in our home. There are no more temperature differences in the various rooms. Our house sits at a comfortable 75 degrees. My wife and I have been so relieved that the project went according to play and there were no horror stories. If you need any work done to your home, go see Mike and his crew. We will always recommend them, and will return should we need anymore improvements. Great job Energy Docs crew!

Our home is now comfortable and extremely efficient. His knowledge is beyond incredible. Mike is extremely punctual and knows his products! The whole HVAC system (including heat pump, ducting etc.) has made such a difference. Thank you Mike. We subsequently had Energy Docs (Mike Macfarland) install a state of the art solar system. Again, we cannot say enough about the savings we see with the new system. It is truly a pleasure to have someone so knowledgeable and trustworthy working on our home. We praise his skills and highly recommend Energy Doc.

Forgive the long windedness of this review....This company is a joke!!…read more They don't give a flying **** about their customers. Worked with RWI for weatherizing my home for a Energy Program. The first issue started with the two guys that showed up. They changed out some lighting in the bathroom, weatherized the front door and then came the tests. The one guy, was all to eager to find anything wrong with my heater, water heater or oven. Once he was able to find or potentially make up an issue (with my water heater), which I am still unclear to what the issue is, He was like a child on Christmas morning, calling up my electrical company to come out to shut off my hot water that night. Mind you, explaining absolutely nothing about why they are shutting it off, no information about what the next steps would be once my water heater was turned off or what would be the steps to get it fixed. Finally after asking multiple questions and receiving no answers, his co-worker sort of explained what I could expect. Which was the absolute opposite of what happened. PG&E comes out, turns off the water, provides me with service paperwork. Next day, call RWI to follow up, since mind you, I still have received no concrete information on next steps. To find out the PG&E guy didn't enter his notes of the service call in the system, and supposedly RWI can't proceed until they notes are entered. I offer to scan and send over my copy of my service notice, I received and asked if there is any contact information they could provide so I can talk to someone at PG&E or Energy Program to get this resolved. I am told no, there is no escalation process and to give it two days and call back. No big deal. Call back two days later, still no notes. I offer to scan and send the service notice over again and again ask if there is someone else I can speak with from PG&E or the EAP. I'm told no, but send the paperwork it have. Sent those notes over to the reception person who tells me they are emailing their boss to escalate the issue. Hear nothing for the rest of week. Call back the next week a few different days, still no notes, no movement on my repair and I am given a bunch of excuses that bosses were in meetings, people were on vacation, basically no-one did anything that week with my paperwork. Now 3 weeks in, I call back, still no one has looked at my paperwork, I am told the "BIG" Boss was in the day I called, and it will again get escalated, which I had to insist and persist that someone get back to me that day. Here's how they resolved it... they provided me with a PHONE NUMBER to call the Energy Assistance Program to follow up myself because supposedly they couldn't get any movement on the paperwork. Seriously a phone number?!!! 3 weeks and 7 calls later, and the best you can do is give me a phone number...wow thanks for that.... Pretty sure I asked for that 3 weeks ago... Asked and received written confirmation with RWI that someone had actually called them and spoke to the EAP about my issue prior to my follow up call. Call the EAP to find out NO-ONE from RWI had contacted them, and my documents had never been forwarded. Funny enough, they were not even aware of the issue. So RWI flat out lied and basically left me stranded without hot water for 3 weeks, to then give me a phone number (something that could have been resolved the first day I called) Here's how I perceived the entire interaction, no-one from RWI management felt that following up on their customer's paperwork or reading an two sentence email was time worthy. No-one from RWI management cares an iota about the living conditions they leave their customers in. No-one from RWI management will do anything to help their customers, yet will string them along for weeks to then lob the responsibility over the fence for their customers to follow up on. Then to add insult to injury, come to find out there is no guarantee the EAP will even fix my water heater or it could be months of a wait because I now have 3 weeks worth of people ahead of me. So now I am searching contractor to come out and fix my water heater which is going to cost me hundreds if not more. Something that would have been nice to know prior to RWI even coming out. I feel badly for families who might not have the means to hire an additional contractor and are the mercy of companies like this. That could care less who they inconvenienced as long as they get paid. This entire experience with the company and their egregious display of indifference and lack empathy has been horrific. Do yourself a solid, steer clear of this company and don't give them your business. You will be saving yourself the massive headache.
