ATLAS TREE SERVICE IS *EXCELLENT*! We had been delaying having several large trees removed from our property--partly due to the exorbitant costs we were being quoted, and partly due to the enormity of the project and concern for potential damage to landscaping on our (and our neighbors') property. The job was also complicated and worrisome because the trees were among ConEd electrical lines. By chance, we had seen an Atlas Tree Service truck while driving. A quick Google search showed a 4.9 (out of 5) star rating with over 200 reviews. We called Antonio (the owner) who came over promptly. He provided a quote and to our delight, his prices were more than reasonable (by a large margin). After a week's worth of work which included trimming all the smaller trees on our property in addition to removing very large trees. Antonio and his crew left without a trace that they were here. His guys (and daughter!) were meticulous in their efforts, hard-working, efficient, professional, and pleasant. Antonio is an honorable man who is extremely experienced, easy, and pleasant to do business with. To summarize, we cannot say enough good things about Atlas Tree Services. read more

Atlas Tree removal came into our neighborhood on a Saturday morning. The job was to remove three healthy trees over 80 years old. The police confirmed the owner - new to the neighborhood - did not have a permit to remove the trees. The owner did have a permit to remove a small tree in the front yard with a 12-inch diameter. Atlas removed that earlier in the week. before. Their workers blocked our driveway with one of their trucks. When we asked them to move so we could go out, Atlas employees refused to move the car. Only after we said we would call the police, did they move their truck. It's unfortunate the neighbors did not call the police as they would have saved three healthy trees and the homeowners a fine from the city. We had no peaceful Saturday as the chipper ran all day. We had a large tree in our yard which we needed removed. Of the 4 estimates we received; Atlas was by far the least expensive. I was skeptical about hiring them due to the old saying "you get what you pay for," but this did not apply. Their crew showed up on time, removed the tree quickly and efficiently; removed all the branches, tree, debris and left our yard in great shape. Note that the tree was in an area that was not accessible by vehicles or large equipment, but they still got the job done. Great job at nearly 1/2 the price quoted by some others! read more

Fast, efficient, polite!!! These guys were absolutely amazing. Another company told me the tree would take 5 days to remove, and probably require a crane. Antonio & his guys from Atlas did it in one day (no crane) - and my yard was cleaner than when they got there. AND - they did it within days of my call - when I know they were busy with all the work from Isaiais!!! True gentlemen - and fascinating to watch them work. These guys were wonderful! They saw my cracked tree and came right away. They have the largest crane in the area (and are getting another so they can manage more jobs) and watching them navigate my steeply-peeked roofline while also not hitting the low-hanging power line was a thing of beauty. Antonio (the owner) has been incredibly helpful and accommodating. Nobody wants to cut down three gorgeous old oak trees, even if they are all cracked and sick and threatening the neighbors' house (and my own!). He's saving me a few choice cross sections to be turned into tables at some future date. Also, their bid was lower than the only competitor who showed up to give us a bid (I called a bunch of places), and the friend who recommended them said they came in low for her, too. Was optimistic when they responded immediately to my call for an estimate and gave me a date and time that someone would be coming to the house for the estimate--I needed 10 sickly hemlock trees removed and one magnolia tree pruned. When Antonio Jr. arrived he stated I would be receiving an estimate later that same day (they would drop it off at the house). Nothing was dropped off that afternoon or evening. When I reached out the next day (via text message) simply asking when I might expect to be receiving the estimate, I did not get any reply. It's been more than a week since they came out and still no estimate. I ended up hiring a different company for the job. read more

There are four things one should expect when you contract any company: they will value your time, they will keep their promises, they will offer quality service relative to their price and they will return your phone calls. Atlas Tree didn't show up when they promised. They reneged on their contract and they have not returned multiple phone calls as to when they might show up. Don't waste your time - call one of the multitude of other tree services. I'm now contracted with Double Tree. read more
