The big storm last week did major damage to the large tree in my backyard. I called a company with which I had done business in the past & was told that due to a backlog, they would be unable to even send someone for an estimate until the third week of September, & the work would not be done until six to eight weeks later. On the recommendation of a friend, I contacted Owens Bros on August 31, and Dennis Owens came to my home the next morning. Dennis's inspection was thorough & his estimate was reasonable for the amount of work which needed to be done. The entire tree, which was taller than my house, had sustained a great deal of damage & would need to be removed completely. In order to avoid further damage to the tree & possible accident due to additional storms or hurricanes, we agreed that Dennis & his crew would return today at 7 to do the work.(Three days after first contact, instead of having to wait three weeks for inspection.) Dennis arrived before 7AM with the big truck & the chipper, his team arrived shortly after, and as soon as they found a large spot near my house (today was alternate side parking on my side of the street), immediately got to work. The team worked non-stop until finishing around 10AM, with Dennis on site the entire time. When the tree was completely down, the team cleaned up all debris, including the sawdust on my garage roof & whatever leaves, etc , that remained on my property & that of my neighbor. The backyard & my neighbor's property were cleaned so well, that except for the now-missing tree, one would never guess that so much work had been done. Dennis was very helpful in dealing with my home insurance adjuster, providing everything he required, & friendly, professional and helpful at all times, & his team was very skillful. They came quickly and swiftly shortly after my request for an evaluation visit. Their crew of professional arborist experts executed and finished the pruning of 2 huge trees and the disposal of branches and wood debris In no time. They have the tools, the equipment (a huge truck with shredder) and years of experience and know how on how to get the job done in the middle of Manhattan's traffic and bustling streets where time is money and efficiency the key to success. An old tree fell on our driveway this morning after a very windy night. We called Owens Bros Tree Svce first thing this morning thinking that it would be days before someone could come out. To our surprise, Todd called us back immediately and they were here in less than an hour. The entire process took less than an hour (thanks to their efficient and energetic approach to the job) and our driveway is now spotless! Our Tree Guy Steve wasincredibly friendly and respectful of our property and even gave us suggestions on the care of other trees in our yard. Their quote was totally reasonable and a great value to us. As a bonus, they even helped us get rid of an old tree that had fallen over last year that we were procrastinating on getting removed. Owens Bro. tree service did an outstanding job on a last minute project that I presented. They were cutting a tree for my neighbor across the street, I went over and spoke with Dennis to present my problem. A 50 foot dead oak tree in the backyard hanging over the patio. He gave me an estimate which I accepted to my surprise he stated his guys would start upon completion of the neighbors tree. Within what seemed like minutes 5 guys were in my yard moving tables, chairs, grills and anything else in the way to prepare for taking down this tree. Very professional and neat, they even cut and stacked the wood I requested to save for burning in the fireplace in the fall. First time using this company.They did significant trimming to 3 trees, removed invasive vines from 1, removed a stump and pruned 2 large shrubs to my specs in the back. I also managed to get my gutters cleaned out. The work and clean-up was done very quickly and efficiently with an excellent balance of Steve's recommendations and my aesthetic preferences. Steve and his crew of excellent workers were great to work with, knowledgeable and accommodating. The price was very reasonable for the scope of work. So we bought a new house in a particularly wooded part of Lower Westchester County. Only problem was, our backyard had so many trees it wasn't a backyard, it was more like a forest.I hired Owens Bros recently, and my trees look beautiful! They pruned and beautified a couple of enormous Cedars that were looking pretty embarrassing beforehand. I can't believe the transformation! I needed a tree removed from my backyard that was causing major damage to the property dividing fence. I called and spoke to Dennis on Monday morning, we arranged for a meeting time for a free estimate. True to his word, he was at my house on time. I've used Owens Brothers Tree Service for years. A few years ago my Marine Locust was looking very poor. Dennis and his guys came over and did fantastic work--the tree looks better than ever. They are so efficient and professional, managing to make everything look easy despite the challenges of a very large tree on a very small lot with difficult access, power lines, and houses very close by. Dennis and his men did an amazing job cleaning up several bushes and trees that had been left neglected for many years. The juniper bushes were neatly trimmed and transformed into beautifully-looking shapes. I asked for one bush to be completely cut down and the remaining stump was so low to the ground I wouldn't have known it was ever there. The trees were pruned and have never looked healthier. Called at about 10am. Had already called two other tree removal companies. Dennis not only had someone answer the phone but came at noon to give the estimate. Instead of one tree we had two cut down. Not an easy job in tight spaces in a residential area. Once we agreed on a price (not cheap) the job was completed in hours. These guys broke their butts from prep to finally. Dennis and his team arrived at my home in Riverdale/Fieldston Historic district after a severe thunderstorm that damaged a major limb or an old and enormous Hickory tree.
