Booked an appointment same day and accidentally put it in my calendar for the wrong time so I missed my appointment. I called to attempt to resolve the situation and the first person I spoke with said I would not be charged but he couldn't actually resolve it so I needed to call back later. Called later and the woman I spoke to refused to allow me to speak with a manager and only told me that the owner is very strict on this and so she would be immediately charging my card for missing the appointment. I asked 3 times to speak with a manager and she refused to allow me to speak with anyone else and didn't even listen to my explanation of what had occurred. Horrible customer service. read more

Pedro the new guy cut my hair. Literally his first day. Real sweet guy, and a good burst fade - Pedro knows what he's doing. Toward the end of the cut some manger comes up to me named Trevor, tells me if Pedro even touches my beard with clippers that my haircut will go from 50.00 to 100.00. I didn't want hot towel, shampoo products or anything. I tried explaining to Trevor I just wanted Pedro to hit my sides with a buzzer to make the haircut look complete. He didn't care, said "that's not the way we do things around here." I get that Trevor has a job to do, but man you don't have to be so abrasive. Also I'm not spending an extra 50.00 for a 2 min pass with a buzzer. I have been looking for new barbers and could have been an awesome return customer, but b/c of Trevor I'm not coming back. Totally impressed by this speakeasy barbershop. Initially came here after my barber of 7+ years, who I've followed around to 4 barber shops, decided to leave the barber game. And after my first visit with Trevor and his crew, I knew this was going to be my new spot. Making an appointment is easy and convenient on the square app. Select your head (haircut) or face (shave), your barber, and what timeslot. From the outside, it's very unassuming. Just a simple door and of course the spiraling blue and red barber poll. But when you walk inside, it feels like you've stumbled into a secret club lounge. The decor is eclectic- mixing taxidermy, gatsby, and industrial vibes all around. Enjoy a beer or water while you wait, but please, no cell phone use. Self care is not just for the ladies and for me, getting my haircut here is a great experience. The barbers really take their time consulting on the type of cut you want and what looks best. Currently I'm going for a low skin fade, higher on the sides, with a slight undercut and side part. The shampoo and hot towel service is so relaxing and the products feel and smell great on my hair. Wow! One of the best haircut experiences in my life. I was traveling through on business. When I called, Katie was able to fit me in. When I arrived, I was promptly and warmly greeted, and offered a cold beverage; beer or water. I opted for water because I was driving and on business. Samir took his time cutting my hair, making great conversation in the process. Then I was treated to a hot towel on my face while he shampooed and conditioned my hair. It seems many places today have bypassed the old style services, NOT Atomic. They are bringing a great service, with many great touches. Thank you to the entire staff, you are masters of your craft. Right when I walked in, this place looked like my kind of place! Very cool, classy look, old school vibe. Felt very safe with masks and requiring a hand wash before sitting in the barber chair. Don't bring a Kindle book here and expect to be left alone while you read in silence. I went with my husband to this place for him to get a haircut. I sat and began to read. A young lady came over and spoke to a couple near me, about their No cell phone policy as they were browsing their's. I figured I was fine since my cell phone was in my pocket. To my surprise she also told me I had to put my device away. I reminded her this was just an e-reader, and that I was reading my book. She insisted I put my book away, and I refused. About ten or fifteen minutes later I was approached by this man with hair locks, who told me I had to put my book away. I insisted I was just reading a book. He lectured me about people not being allowed to use devices in church or at doctor's offices. He then said to me: "we can do this the easy way or we can do this the easy way". His demeanor and manner of speech told me this was a threat, so I put the book away. On the way out, I did not even look at him. He asked me to look at a sign they had at the front desk that said "unplugged". I told him it was enough already, and left the establishment. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

As a woman, who has very rarely trimmed my ends. It takes a lot to decide to trust someone to cut my hair successfully! I am experiencing alopecia on the sides of my head, which requires a highly skilled barber to give me a phenomenal undercut fade to look my best and feel amazing! Trevor (Chili Sauce) is that barber! This place is the bees knees. I made an appointment with the owner for my boyfriend to get a beard and neck trim. You walk an in and don't even have to wait long to get checked in and they offer water, beer, and something else. We took the beer, so I didn't pay attention to whatever else they were offering. The owner immediately took my boyfriend back to the barber chair and worked his magic as I sat on the couch and watched some basketball on TV. (They have bowls of matches, pins, and condoms on the table and by the front door) - not to mention- the bathroom is really cool This place has the SICKEST FADES I have ever seen! They seriously kill it. My boyfriend is one of those tough dudes who doesn't say much about anything. Yet, when we walked out after he was done, he was all smiles and felt really pampered - between the hot towels and beard product they use, the causal beer they keep handing you, and the special atmosphere the place has...... its the perfect place to take your man to to get pampered. In a beautiful cozy tucked in corner, in winter park it was an awesome atmosphere walking in, but had to give it a three star for a simple reason three barbers three clients, empty barber shop! I walk in and one of the barbers was done! Client gets up so he can check out I asked for a haircut as a walk-in and the barber says to me if I have an appointment I said no I am just walking in, website does say walk in accepted... And that they are all booked for the day that everyone has a new client walking in and sat outside for a good 30-35 minutes and all I see is the barber sitting on his chair waiting and could have had me buzzed and gone in 20 minutes! Scheduling an appointment was easy and communicating with him prior to the appointment was likewise. Trevor knows his stuff...he literally walked me through everything he was doing through the cut, and gave me some tips on how to better care for my beard, and how I should plan on growing/trimming it in the future. Let's start off with this isn't a fake review. I'm from South Florida and used to make the drive back home to get my haircut (only one person had cut my hair for the last 7 years). That all changed today after sitting in Clarissa's chair. She was beyond amazing! She's talented with her craft, super personable, and just amazing! The vibe of the shop was great as well. I showed her a couple of pics of what I wanted and she walked me through the entire process of what needed to happen to get me there. She took her time, but we quick (if that makes sense). BY FAR the best experience I've had in a barber chair (yes, she's a legit barber that can style not just a stylist). It's a barber shop, not a place for your kids first haircut. So, I'll start with the good. Katie was amazing. Very chill. I'm not a huge talker when I'm getting my hair cut and she picked up on that real quick and didn't force convo. She also gave me one of the cleanest skin fades I've ever had and did the same for my wife. If this was just a review of Katie it would be a full five stars. Unfortunately, the bad is really bad. First, I found this place because it came up in a search for "woman-friendly barbers," and the yelp answer about having women clients convinced me, so you'd think they wouldn't be misgendering women with short hair. Alas...having women as clients doesn't necessarily mean a place is woman-friendly. Expect a lot of bro banter, it is what it is. That wasn't really an issue, but the racism definitely was. It started with shit talking about South American countries and then mocking regional Spanish accents. I wonder if that would have happened if they knew my wife was raised in Colombia and Spanish was her first language. I'm guessing not based on the absolutely vile comment directed at a totally innocent postal worker just doing his job outside the shop. One of the barbers, I didn't get his name but talked about being Filipino, implied some sort of connection between his locs and his personality and called him "island boy." Beyond to ridiculous amount of cognitive dissonance that must occur for a self-proclaimed Filipino to call and random Black man "island boy," the weird conversation focused on nationality vs ethnicity with nary a hint of nuance made it abundantly clear that this is a place for white and white-aligned people only. The only person who spoke up in all of this was Katie and they quickly dismissed her objection to the conversation. I cannot justifiably recommend this place to anybody. I guess if you are a racist white person or a self-hating POC, you might have a good experience. Katie, if you move to another shop, let it be known. I would love to give you more of my money, but I will not return to this place which fucking sucks because a barber shop filled with profanity and beer is right up my alley. Oh well. read more

First off....NO CELLS PHONES! Personally, I feel it's a great policy. I actually had a conversation with the barbers Gilbert, Trevor, and Jordan, along with some of the other clients in the shop. With my phone off, I was able to have a connection with those around me; something that seems to have been forgotten as our world has become more centered on our electronic devices. Second...My haircut came out great. Before we started, Gilbert stood there and listened to what I actually wanted. He didn't try to push his own agenda like other chain barber shops, he just did as I asked and it came out the way I wanted it. I appreciate the fact that none of the barbers tried to push products that I didn't want just to make extra profit. These men actually care about their clients needs. Coming to this shop was absolutely worth the time and it's definitely money well spent. read more

Let me start with the good. Its a really nice place with an awesome location. However, when I called to make an appointment they failed to tell me they had scheduled my haircut with their apprentice. I showed him a picture of what I wanted. Things started going south quickly when he came in with the clippers and shaved my head to the scalp from ear to ear, leaving me half bald. After an hour and a half, I had the worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life! I looked like a mangy dog at best. I understand that he is an apprentice, and he was a really nice guy, but I should have been notified of this before he started cutting my hair. I paid and left, but the more I saw my hair, the more upset I got! I drove to a different barber and $65 and 3 hours later (total) I have a great haircut! The second place I went to thought I had cut my hair myself...it was that bad! I decided to call them back (Atomic Barbers) and tell them what happened hoping they would try to make things right and I could at least get an apology or my money back. Drew answered the phone and I got a half-hearted apology and he never offered to give me my money back. I had to bring it up and he refused, giving me like an, "oh well, too bad for you" attitude. This place really sold me because the staff is amazing and talented. The atmosphere is great too. I like the fact that there is a no cell phone policy. The decor was like no other shop I've see, but it gave off an awesome vibe. Jordan was great, he cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. My new place for life. I just had my first hair cut @Atomic and holy hell. This place is bad-of-ass. It's the man cave of your dreams. As soon as you walk in you know you've arrived in a special place. The walls are covered with cool stuff everywhere. The place is filled with music that actually really good. You can tell the playlist was made by someone who loves music. Great vibe. The hair cut itself was on point. They start you off with a hot towel on your face while they wash your and then take you over to the retro barber chair. The people there were just a blast to hang out with. It was fun. Everyone was talking and just having a good time. My hair came out prefect and the staff were super friendly. I was surprised that the prices aren't higher. I really enjoyed this barber shop. The prices are high, but for a good reason. It's almost like a male pampering session. I got the beard shave and haircut and it came out great. They really want you to have a great experience and offer you a cold beer during your cut. Their is a no cell phone policy which initially I found weird, but I completely understood why.
