Marshall, my barber, was fantastic. Great haircut, super quick (but not rushed), and it was perfect on the first try! Far too often, with other barbers, I get home and find uneven patches around my head. Many of them just can't blend or cut evenly with scissors. It's become a huge challenge that requires me to fix it myself or return to the shop. This is why I've only been to a handful of people throughout my life, switching stylists only if they retire or move. Just as I hoped, Marshall showed his skill with scissors, clippers and any tool he used. He cut to the length I wanted while also making sure the form worked with the lay of my hair and shape of my head. Bold bearded folks steer clear. Came in with a full beard and asked to get setup with their best barber that's great with beards. It's been a struggle to find a true "beardsmith" since recently moving out here. All I wanted was a light trim with a clean up of the edges... I left with a butchered beard and a cheek lines so low it'll take months to regrow. I felt that I gave him good directions on what I wanted, to include what previous barbers had done wrong. My son (8 years old) has had several people cut his hair throughout his life with zero complaints.. many places, many stylists both males and females... never an issue until a terrible experience a couple months ago. He came out with tears in his eyes after a haircut from a man (Kyle/Keven?) at the Floyd's Mills location. He said it hurt so bad the entire time and after we got home I noticed several nicks all over his neck. This situation was even more upsetting considering I specifically requested (and was booked with) one of the former ladies who's cut his hair there in the past and for whatever reason (without my permission) they put my child with this man who ended up actually hurting him. Fast forward a couple of months to his next haircut. I booked it at the Floyd's 99 Fairbanks location to avoid the traumatic experience my son had last time. When I called, I made sure to ask if he could be with someone who could be gentle so he could feel comfortable receiving a haircut again. The woman told me that Brianna could do that so I scheduled the appointment with her. After we got to my car after his haircut with Brianna, to my horror, he showed me his sore ear and the half inch cut on the back of it. How could this have happened? He is a polite, well behaved boy who holds very still during haircuts. This is a place that specifically promotes a "Kids haircut" yet my son keeps getting mutilated. It's terrible and traumatizing for a child. I'm so infuriated with both of these places and considering taking legal action. This is not right. read more

I was a bit nervous going from long to a short style, but I felt it was time. Brandon was seriously amazing! He took his time, little by little, checking to see how I was feeling in regard to the length. I was wanting a cool style for him, rather than just a generic kids cut and Brandon delivered! I loved it and so did my son! I now take him every month for a trim and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Brandon is our guy!He's got the magic touch! I got put with a hair stylist instead that did a lackluster "barber" job (as seen in the photo), probably someone at the hair cutting school or SuperCuts can do a better job. So to say I had an experience here to say the least. I went in Monday morning had had my hair done by a stylist who I previously had a consultation with about what I wanted done to my hair, ombré/baylage. My main focus was to keep it a very natural look and color due to job requirements. My hair already had a grown out partial highlight to it. After 3 and a half hours of sitting mostly in silence while this person did my hair, my hair was finished. Focusing on the color I left pretty happy. Later upon styling my hair I came to realize my hair there was a straight line along my hair where she had added the bleach...which was the majority of my hair. I went in the next day and told the receptionist, Taylor, I came in yesterday and I was unhappy with my hair, due to it looking unprofessional and unnatural. When I showed her and the other two stylists my hair they agreed. They immediately went to work finding out when they can fix my hair. Luis took me and I was lucky he had no appointments that day. He worked on my hair for a solid 8 hours to fix my hair. He talked me through everything he was doing and why. We talked about my experience with the other stylist and he repeatedly apologized that its the experience I had. He went and spoke with his managers was told he can do whatever needed to be done to correct my hair without any charge to me. I was also very happy to hear that he too would be compensated for fixing my hair, considering I spent his whole shift in his chair without being charged. I had a wonderful experience with Luis, he was kind, funny, charismatic and he took care of my hair and fixed it just how I wanted it to be. If it wasn't for the first half of this experience I would give this place 5 stars. I will definitely be back in the future to see Luis, he was amazing! Thank you Luis! Haircut was fine. I input the appointment through the app for a skin fade and shave. What I got was a long haircut full of conspiracy theories about ownership and tips. What I didn't get was my shave, or a proper skin fade with razor at the bottom. Washing and styling apparently out as well. So I went back to work. No shave. Hair cut but not washed and styled. Hair not blown off my collar. Definitely won't come back again. Been a relatively good patron since I moved to Orlando and had only stopped once I found Atomic Barber. I'd rather go back and have the job done directly than schedule my appointments in apps and not get what I ask for ON THE APP. Poorly run, poorly delivered and I now know how terrible the franchisee is to their people. All is the things I didn't want out of a simple hair appointment. I have been to a lot of Floyd's locations around the US. Always had good to really good haircuts. Never had a complaint, still don't. But this is the first time I have lived close enough to one to make it my "local barber". Now been coming to this place for months. Never had a bad cut or a bad stylist. But this trip. I had Melvin work on my hair. And boy, did Melvin wow and impress. He took his time, which I enjoyed since it's not the cheapest cut. But I don't want the cheapest cuts. I want great cuts. It's nice to have a place to go for haircuts that is more catered towards men, but isn't the cheapo "Gimme a Cut" variety - and Floyd's has become this spot for me. Randi cut my hair on my most recent visit, and did an awesome job. She was super friendly, and asked me exactly how I wanted my hair cut. The final result was perfect. I opted for the wash/rinse, and I believe all cuts include a bonus shoulder massage. The price is fair at roughly $20, and they also offer some hair products at reasonable prices. I received Poor customer service from the front desk receptionist(young lady) and the manager, who was not receptive of the complaint/constructive criticism I was offering. Manager confronted the conversation in a hostile manner, without any attempt to remedy the discomfort I experienced as a customer. The receptionist wasn't sure if she could disclose information I initially requested, so she proceeded to hang up. Not only did she hang up twice, she decided to lie to me about her actions. This situation could've been avoidable if employees had the proper customer service skills. Subpar service ! I expected better. I can understand the front desk not being equipped to handle situation . But it's unacceptable for a manager to handle ANY client in the manner that this was handled in. Hanging up is clearly common practice in this business because the manager proceeded to hang up himself when he lost patience, seconds into the call. He didn't even give a chance for me to inquire on the additional haircut services I needed on today. I was able to call another Floyd's and receive what I need as well as book my next appointment. My 6-year-old daughter who identifies as a boy was scheduled to have a haircut today at 1:00 at the Floyd's location and Winter Park on Mills. My wife took him there to have his haircut and the barber that was there refused to cut his hair because the barber said that she was a girl and had girl hair and he could not cut her hair the way that we wanted. For a company that promotes themselves and prides themselves as being culturally open to gay lesbian and transgender people I guess that's only for adults and not children. I'm very disappointed in the establishment and I feel that based on this they should probably remove all their gay lesbian and transgender posters billboards and signages as they are not truly open to everyone. read more

This is the only place in town that I go to for haircuts. I walk in and usually never wait more than 1-3 minutes. I've never had a bad experience there and the products they offer (particularly Refresh) is quite good. They use straight razors on your neckline and offer hair shampoos. Ask for Cameron. He did a fantastic job on my hair and the scalp massage was probably the best I've ever had during the shampoo. You won't be disappointed. The place has great music and cool people working there. I've gotten my haircut at Floyd's on two occasions since November. Both times have been disappointing experiences. The price for a typical haircut suggests a strong level of service and is said to include a shave. Both my haircuts have been entirely lackluster, each barber I've went to has been unfamiliar with the phrase 'keep it natural in the back' and have struggled to properly trim sideburns, and layer hair; let alone offer the shave that was advertised and that I payed for. There are just simple things this barbershop doesn't do that seem strange-- no hairdryer to blow hairs off my collar, no friendly chit chat barbers, etc. In terms of COVID-19 restrictions, Floyd's is doing a good job. I was temperature checked upon entry prior to both appointments and it appeared that everyone was following mask regulations in the establishment. read more

I have to say, I like a straight-razor shave, so this place has been on my radar for a while. This was the first time going in... Although not for a shave but for a haircut. I thought the decor was cool as well as the atmosphere. It is not a barber shop in the classical sense.. You would be hard pressed to see many similarities. More like a salon with some decent marketing. However, without an appointment, I lucked out and got a gentlemen named Kareem, who was very meticulous and did a wonderful job cleaning me up. I have a teenage boy. I know nothing of teenage fashion. I stopped trying to have a fashionable haircut when I refused to make my hair do the flippy thing that all the lead singers were wearing back in the ... you know what... no important. What it comes down to is this: I have taken the boy to get his hair chopped at several places. He usually wears an happy miserable face on his way in and an even more miserable face on his way out. However, the past several cuts he has received he has been happy enough with them not to put a hat right back on his head. Semi-cool idea: a rock n roll barber shop. I like the interior here as it's an old mechanics garage. They play current music and have magazines like Rolling Stone to read. Also, lot's of tattooed girls. I've been here twice. The first time I had Stevie and she was great, very talkative, etc. Good cut. I went again the other day and while the girl gave me a great cut, she barely spoke to me. One of the things I always enjoyed about me barber shops is a little conversation. Plus, she kind of smelled of smoke. Ugh, what's with all the smokers in Orlando?! Two bonuses here: First, they use hot shaving cream and a straight edge on the back of the neck. Love it!
