Steve and his son, Petey, came out twice to look at our Samsung ice maker. Steve "thought" it might be the filter case assembly but wasn't sure. Originally, he thought we needed to replace one of the two ice makers so I'm not sure he was confident about the problem. Since it would be ~$300 for the assembly part, plus labor, we elected to ditch the repair idea as he wasn't even sure how long it would last (if it that was indeed the problem). He said he dislikes Samsung refrigerators and doesn't recommend them so I'd pass if that's what you need addressed. He's a nice guy but charged plenty just to tell us not to fix it. read more

Hired Steve and Petey to install a new garage door opener for a rental and I'm glad I chose them! First off they saved me $$$ by allowing me to buy a model online and they just installed it. The last company I hired for a property offered no options and installed a lower quality opener and charged me more for it (you should only buy Chamberlain). With the TV being so heavy, he made sure to use heavy duty hardware to ensure that it wasn't ever going to come out of the wall. Stephen of Atomic Service was probably the best repairman/handyman we have ever dealt with! His communication was very timely, and he was able to accommodate our schedule. He obtained the part locally, which saved me from having to order it from the manufacturer, and also saved considerable money. He was very informative to this curious do-it-yourselfer, and allowed me to watch and learn from him. After completing the installation, he checked to make sure that everything was functioning properly. He went above and beyond and spent another 15 or 20 minutes explaining some of the features of our range - including tips on how it actually operates and how to get the best results. He taught us things that we had not learned on our own while using the stove for the last four years! He was prompt, courteous, and professional all the way through. I could not have asked for better service! Steve came to my house within hours and diagnosed the issue in short order. He even noticed a potentially dangerous situation with our other garage door (a fraying cable) and fixed that also. First off, thanks to my fellow Yelpers for reviewing this company and giving us some confidence that Steve would be a great fit for our job. We moved to Omaha this past June and our basement had surround sounds speakers installed. I had no idea what equipment was needed or where to start, so I went to the local "one stop shop" to get an estimate for getting our surround sound up and running. The estimate was a couple thousand dollars, which was more than I had planned to spend. So, I looked for an alternate source of getting the work done and found Atomic on Yelp. When I first called Steve, I told him what the situation was and he told me which receiver he would recommend for my job. I ordered it online and booked Steve to come out once it arrived. Our TV set up in the basement before Steve arrived was messy, with wires everywhere heading up to the mounted TV from the cable box and two game systems. The day of installation, he came out and walked us through what needed to be done and what our options were. At the end, we had a great looking set up with everything tucked away in a closet and no wires to be seen. Just the TV (pictures to follow) mounted between the speakers. It looks awesome! Plus, with all costs factored in, we got the work done for less than half what the other place quoted. Can't beat that. Steve is very personable and seems to be a nice and honest guy.
