First the store store itself is so cute and clean and the staff is so friendly I felt comfortable immediately. I have been going to Atomic for years and they always hit the mark! This is your go-to spot for vintage styling and haircuts, but what you may not know is that they are absolutely up to date on modern styles and trends as well! I will never go to another hair salon! My stylist today was Chelsea and she was fabulous. Chelsea is super fun to talk to, very communicative with what she is doing and her processes, and the end result to my hair was perfect. It was exactly what I wanted! Everyone at Atomic is extremely nice and personable. They do men's haircuts as well. This is absolutely a LGBTQ+ friendly salon and I have always found the team here to be super accepting of every person who walks through the door. They are just good people. The vibe of the shop itself is retro and very trendy. You can absolutely get some cute photos while in the shop! They also sell some awesome hair products and vintage accessories. read more

I'm incredibly impressed after my first experience at Atomic Style Lounge! Hallie was my artist today, she is fantastic. So friendly, very funny, great banter, and most importantly, AMAZING results. I have been trying to get my extremely brassy, blonde hair back to a cool, icy platinum for years now- with no luck. ONE SESSION with Hallie, one session!!! That was all it took to get me incredibly lifted and cut the warmth out to the umpteenth degree. We estimated anywhere from 3-5 sessions to get to my goal, but at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if I'm there the next time I'm in her chair. All the other stylists were very friendly, and they seem to have great work camaraderie amongst themselves. It was a very welcoming and fun environment. The front desk man who checked me out (I believe he may have been the manager or the owner, not positive) was very kind and helpful throughout the process. Very much looking forward to coming back in 8 weeks, and thrilled to have found my new home base for hair. Side note, I really like the chairs at the washing station. Everyone from Atomic Style Lounge made my wedding so incredibly special! Jenn, Marie, and David were absolutely wonderful to speak with over email (and helped answer my many, many questions with nothing but patience) and was one of the most stress free parts of the whole wedding process. For the wedding day itself, Mesha was an absolute rockstar! She was incredible and wonderfully patient as everyone in the room was searching for all the various wedding items we needed. She took all my inspiration (which I will admit was shaky on the makeup, as I wasn't quite sure exactly what I wanted) and made a look that made me feel like an old Hollywood Starlet and I felt so glamorous all day! The hair and makeup held up for over 12 hours through the ceremony, dinner, and our whole reception without the need for touch ups. If I can give this establishment a 1000 stars I would. Every stylist they have is amazing and so talented. My hair was ruined and hallie stepped in and gave me her recommendations and fixed it. My hair is healthy and long truly grateful for the entire staff. On another note my mother in law needed a hair cut and she was so scared to get one because she hasn't trusted a stylist in 13 years. I gave her Hallie's information who I swear by! My mother in law was hesitant but agreed, the reason my mother in law was so hesitant was due to past medical conditions. However my mother in law explained to Hallie her concerns and she listened! Hallie explained the entire process before even starting! My mother in law came home looking gorgeous as ever! Not to mention the owner laughed in my face like a child would do instead of just admitting the fault on their part . I also went back in there for a so called evaluation and the owner tried to gaslight me telling me nothing was wrong with my hair . She called it baby lights lmao . And said I also had breakage . Kari is a color WIZARD. Before her, I was bouncing around from salon to salon. I never ever stuck with one colorist. She also makes me feel so comfortable when I come with new ideas and loves to help me with both dramatic and small changes. Jenn is a liar through and through. I get it, anything to save your business. PLEASE READ: I'm honestly disappointed to be writing this review. I loved this hair salon and was a returning client with Cassandra since the beginning of 2021. The phone call I had on 10/30/21 changed my mind about this place. I was told by Cassandra to call the salon about my appointment because whoever I had booked with, incorrectly booked me and Jenn (the owner) was going to correct it. Let me give a bit of background: I had originally booked for November 12th for a single process and color remover. The salon usually sends an invoice for a deposit but I never received it so I assumed it would get sent eventually before the appointment. I booked about a month in advance so I felt that this was a reasonable assumption. I call on 10/30/21 and I'm going over the appointment details with Jenn (the OWNER) who was helpful at first. The problem was that I had been booked for the wrong date or something I truly cannot remember but all in all it had been fixed. When I asked if the invoice would be sent over this time, Jenn got very offended and her tone of voice very OBVIOUSLY changed. She asked: "Well are you going to actually pay it this time?" This had me in shock, because: 1. Im a returning customer who's been a client of Cassandra's since the beginning of 2021 and I ALWAYS pay the deposit in a timely manner when it's sent to me and that can be proven by looking at my history. 2. It was YOUR employee's mistake for not sending the invoice originally when I had first booked the appointment 3. I'm ASKING you to send the invoice so I can pay it, DUH! I expressed this to Jenn, and I'm obviously VERY upset when I'm being spoken to so inappropriately and questioned as if I'm some kind of crap client who tries to give the run around. Jenn began arguing with me otp about how I didn't pay it last time so she needs to make sure I pay it this time and I asked her why she was speaking to me this way. I also let her know an invoice had never even been sent She said that it was me who had an attitude and that she had never been spoken to like this by a customer before in over 7 years! Jenn, I've never been spoken to like that by a small business owner in my ENTIRE LIFE! You would think that as a small business owner you would value your relationships with your stylists' clients instead of ruining it! I asked to speak to Cassandra because I was getting very frustrated and truthfully offended by how Jenn was speaking to me. Cassandra got otp and I let her know what was going on. She had said that Jenn was just trying to ensure that I pay the invoice and told me there was unfortunately nothing she could do because she was not there for the conversation. When I expressed how rude and hurtful Jenn had been, Cassandra simply could not do anything, which I understand to an extent. Jenn is her boss, but if your boss is harming your relationship with your client, why not say something? I asked to cancel my appointment and hung up. But wait, there's more! Less than 5 minutes pass and I get a second call from the salon, and who is it that called me? JENN! I asked her what she wanted and that I had cancelled the appointment to which she said she wanted to apologize about how I had gotten so offended and that she didn't appreciate the way I spoke to her but to not take it out on Cassandra. What kind of shit apology is that?! YOU made me uncomfortable, YOU questioned me about payment over and over again, YOU were the one who began arguing and yelling at me because I let you know that I didn't appreciate your tone and questioning. Jenn said she didn't want to be the reason Cassandra loses a client and I let her know that she WAS the reason Cassandra lost me as a client and that I hoped she felt guilty for it. And what did Jenn respond?: "I do NOT feel guilty about it, no I don't." I asked her why she even called me back and asked her to never call me again. I hung up and that was that. I've never met a more unprofessional business owner in my entire life. It's unfortunate that someone would so willingly argue with someone else's client and make it worse by calling them back again to argue even more. I have no ill will towards Cassandra and hope she finds a salon where the owner won't sabotage her relationships with clients. I would have kept the appointment if this situation would have never happened. And my cancelling does not reflect how I feel about her as a stylist. It reflects how uncomfortable I am going into Jenn's place of business because of how rude and disrespectful Jenn is. read more
