On the actual day of the wedding, she went above and beyond to make sure I liked every little detail. I felt like an absolute princess and she also did a great job of keeping me calm and relaxed! I would caution anyone, especially brides of color, to not book unless you get a chance for a trial before booking for your special day! I had a very disappointing experience with Bonnie (Owner) and feel it's important to share this feedback so others can make an informed decision -- especially brides. Before booking, I specifically asked Bonnie whether she had experience working with Black skin. She confirmed that she did. Unfortunately, once she began working, it became clear that this was not the case. Her technique and product choices did not reflect any real familiarity with deeper skin tones, I even gave her my own foundation but that didn't help and we were ultimately left to do our own makeup. What concerns me most is not the skill gap itself, every artist has limitations, but the lack of honesty when asked directly. Misrepresenting your experience to a client is a serious breach of trust, particularly in the beauty industry where your work is tied to someone's most meaningful moments. I also noticed that other makeup artists present did not appear to recognize Bonnie as part of the local Vegas makeup community, which raised further red flags. We were fortunate to be members of the bridal party and not the bride herself otherwise she could have really ruined someone's special day. I usually tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, as well as give others the grace to respond especially if I myself am space about texting back. I also requested to talk to my makeup artist as I am very particular about my makeup and needed reassurance, and I did not hear back from here till the week of my wedding as well. While I was freaking out trying to figure out what I should do, I was seeing many people say the same thing about Glammed Up: poor communication. Another thing that turned me off to them was that they haven't posted on their Instagram in years, and every review I saw they would "clap back". SCAM ARTISTS!! Would never use this service ever! Their communication leading up to the wedding was terrible. They take no accountability, as you'll see they respond to every negative review defending their actions. The owner is arrogant and lacks professional. My detailed emails were consistently ignored and overlooked. They upcharge charge for parking, each invoice has a ridiculous administrative fee associated with it. Every email they sent had to corrected. I found them to be very disorganized. MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK EVERY INVOICE AS ALL OF MINE WERE INCORRECT. They finished with our hair and makeup 2hrs before the time i told them I needed to be done by and were packed up and onto the next wedding. Their response was "longer hair usually takes longer". Your wedding is arguably the most important day of your life aside from having kids and they treated it like a transaction. No one consulted me ahead of time about my hair type, length, or style to see if what I wanted would work. I'm sure they'll respond to this review defending their actions again. There are SO many Hair and makeup artists in Las Vegas, customer service is key when making a selection. I would have canceled on them if myself and my girls did not already pay a deposit. The owner does Instagram stories ranting about anything and everything and puts a bad taste in your mouth from the jump. You don't get to see accurate artists work on Instagram ahead of time it's just who ever shows up. I asked for Hollywood waves and just got curled hair I could do myself super sad. My make up was okay but eyeliner was put on the waterline like I was back in highschool and just smudged everywhere for my photos. I can't say enough good things about Glammed Up. First of all, they were very communicative from the day I booked them. They always got back in time and answered my many questions clearly. As a super type A bride to be, this settled my nerves a lot. I also feel their prices were fair for the market. My sister used them for her wedding day as well and I was thrilled to book them again. I did book really far out to be safe. My trial was awesome and I only had minimal notes for the wedding day, and they made the adjustments just how I wanted. They also did an amazing job on the bridesmaids and mothers - I thought they all looked stunning and not too overdone. We all looked like ourselves still but just extra gorgeous. :) We were also done in a very timely manner and weren't late to photos or anything. They came directly to my suite to set up and made the experience seamless. The artists all fit right in with our group! My only note would be one of our makeup artists was a little rushed and told us she didn't have time to provide extra lipstick samples for us to reapply throughout the day or touch ups because she had another wedding to run to. I just felt bad for my bridesmaid who got her makeup done at 8am and couldn't get touched up at all. That's my only feedback since on your wedding day you just want everything to be perfect, but I really don't hold this against them as it's pretty minor. My hair gal (Natalie) I have absolutely no notes for. She's so personable, kind and an expert at her craft. The timing was perfect with her. Anyways, overall it was an incredible experience. My hair and makeup lasted all day with just a few small pieces falling out but I still loved how it looked. The looks all photographed really well too. She literally did 4 heads of hair in 2 hours - and we looked fantastic. She executed everything flawlessly and she was so fun, sweet, and hilarious. If I could take her home with me I would! Just want to give a heads up to others that sometimes they outsource their stylist and I didn't get Natalie to do my hair. I forgot the name of the lady who ended up doing my hair. My hair wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't really my vibe. The front looked phenomenal and she did her best to give me the Hollywood glam front look, but the back was very outdated bridal for me. Since my hair was in an updo, I didn't really get to see the back of it until my actual wedding photos came out. If you have a girlfriend with you to check it, then that should be fine. However, I was by myself and just kept telling myself it would be okay. My 3 stars are mainly around transparency. It would be helpful to know who is actually doing your hair so you can see their portfolio and see what they are really good at. I don't believe all stylist are the same. I did my research on Natalie and her work, not the person who actually showed up. *update to owner response* Although I do appreciate you answering my Covid guideline question, it was NOT transparent who was was going to do my hair the day of. I didn't know I would have to ask who would do my hair since only Natalie & Elizabeth are promoted on their insta (as of 1/31/2022). Maybe it's my fault to assume, but being transparent would have been telling me from the get go who would show up since I thought I was speaking with Natalie the entire time. I guess my experience for others is you gotta ask a lot of questions and track everything that's going on. I had been recommened Glammed Up by a coworker and a friend had mentioned they did her sister and mother's hair and make up for her wedding. I saw their social media and then met them at a Bridal Expo and decided to book them. I agree with other reviews stating the social media pages mainly display the work of Elizabeth and Natalie. So it was a little confusing when you meet different stylist/artist from the ones who's work you see and are messaging you. They do tend to respond in a timely manner, though. All the ladies I met from Glammed Up were fun and talented. My main negative as a few others have stated was the punctuality. For the trial run the artist/stylist arrived and had me ready in time for my engagement photo shoot. But for my wedding I had to follow up to know the time they would be doing my hair and make up so I could plan my morning, but they did get back to me prior. They also had to push back their originally scheduled time but they communicated with me as it changed. Sadly, I was not ready by the promised time of 4:00pm as was stated on the contract. That resulted in me rushing to the venue and being late. So I missed out on time for photos and my mood was thrown off due to being upset on such a special day. I found the separate invoices for hair and make up to be a little tedious, but it was doable. I was able to have the same hairstylist for both my trial and wedding day. I believe her name was Sandi and she was fun and personable. I was happy with my hair on both occasions. I had a different make up stylist for my trial run, don't recall her name. My make up felt cakey from the trial and creased alot, so I kept that in mind for my bridal. I had Elizabeth for my wedding day. I appreciated that when I commented that my skin was dry she listened and hydrated my skin. My make up felt a lot nicer, didn't feel cakey, and held up throughout the night. They provided inspo pics and also used my reference pics and gave me recommendations that would work for me based on what I shared. Communication is horrible. After paying the deposit I felt forgotten about. I had to reach out a couple days before my ceremony to touch base & find out start times for hair & makeup. Makeup artist was 1 1/2 hours late. Not sure if it's the artist's fault, or whoever was texting me. I don't understand why, if you're given a contracted stylist/makeup artist, you aren't given a direct line of communication to them. Not someone from the company. It would be helpful to see the stylist and makeup artist's work before being scheduled with them. The only work you can really find on glammed up's Instagram is the owners. Makeup & hair did come out fine... but the rush to get ready & get to the chapel, along with the stress of waiting to get ready put a damper on the day. After the wedding i was sent an invoice for the hair day of, then was told that another invoice was going to come through because they forgot to charge me for the trial run. This was quite a surprise due to the fact it was never disclosed that there would be an additional fee for doing a trial run. I was offered a discount ($20 off) but essentially had to pay twice as much as i was expecting. I had a decent experience with Glammed Up, but I did not get what I asked for. I requested soft, natural looking waves and very natural makeup for my elopement ceremony. I ended up with the MOST makeup I have ever worn in my life on my face and spiral curls that I had to brush out and straighten after the artists left. I was near tears frantically trying to get the layers of bronzer and highlight off my face after seeing myself in photos right before heading to my ceremony. I understand that it can be difficult for the artist when there isn't a trial run, but I showed numerous photos of what I wanted, and just felt like the artists did their own thing.
