Keep in mind small airports are all over the place many people live less than a mile from one and have no idea what it's even there., look it up you'd be surprised. Because they're not flying huge jets, or (even small ones) that need to land very fast and need much longer runways, they can kinda land wherever they (you) want. Now we're not talking about $10 million plus private jets so the price is actually reasonable, you'd be surprised. If you split it among some friends it's even better (obviously). The planes are incredibly well-maintained I rent super reliable, elegantly simple propeller driven and top of the line for their class. As a pilot myself, I rent planes from them and the main reason is how well they are maintained. For those who are nervous, remember your pilot wants to live too. The airport is overseen by a military pilot who is incredibly fastidious, so again the planes are top notch maintained to every screw/rivet and piece of plastic in the interior. Next time you've got a 3-10+ (+/-) drive Consider private flight. It also makes you feel good like you've really achieve something in life. Also because they don't fly high, relatively speaking like large "Wide-body" Jets (737/A310 etc.), you have a beautiful view at all times. He was an older gentleman, and when I told him about trying to reschedule or something because of my grandfather he just smirked and told me they can't do anything, and I could come alone if I'd like. Out of human decency, I decided not to fly by myself, and comfort my grandpa which Georgie was kind enough to help me with. To Vincent, it is not about the money, it's about the morals you have as a person. I don't care about your policy, I've had many companies with strict policies help in serious circumstances. So I visited a few flight schools today and by far this one was the most open and easily…read moreapproachable. What impressed me was that did not itemize or "nickle and dime" as much as the others. In am by no means saying that they are any less expensive when they quote you an average cost but they do have a few things that make the training more affordable. The highlight of my visit was a preview of their 2 simulators in which students may use gratis when they are enrolled. This is a huge deal since many schools will charge an hourly rate for the privilege. The only time they charge for sim training here is if it's instructor guided. That's a very fair deal in my opinion. Their aircraft use was more expensive BUT they have planes with analog instruments AND glass cockpit and ALL their planes go for the same price. Also, all of their planes are fuel injected which means no fussing with carb heat. Many other schools seem to charge more for upgraded technology. Ground school was not as pricey and the school does not push a package or kit for you to buy. No high pressure sales there. Kudos goes out to John there for alleviating some of my initial anxiety by letting me walk out to a plane and hop in for initial feel and showing me around. The other places I visited today all seemed either a bit harried or sticklers on a scheduled appointment for a more controlled visit. I'm happy that they are busy but I really needed something a bit more personal here and John did a great job. Though I still have a bit of anxiety I think I can now go forward and actually schedule a discovery flight. Oh and speaking of which, THIS school actually includes a simulator experience in addition to the flight. No one else I've previewed offers that either. Great way to ease someone into this.

Had the privilege of going up with the fine folks at Sky River on Sunday, December 6th 2015…read more Pure professionals all the way. Upon arrival my fiancée and I were greeted by our pilot, Mark, as well as the owner and his wife. Very friendly and made us feel welcome! We didn't waste much time, and I had the privilege of watching pilot Mark do his pre-flight. He was very thorough and I could tell the bird was immaculately maintained. Shortly thereafter we were strapped in and on our way! Having only been my 2nd helicopter flight, I was geeking out the whole time, and Mark was on top of his game. Soon we were circling around the statue of liberty and on our way up the Hudson. Great views of the Freedom Tower and we went north, uptown and over the GWB before starting our return to Pittstown. Landing was flawless, came in with plenty of ground speed before smoothly exiting the active and calling it in. Pro. Pictures and words don't do it justice, this was one of the greatest experiences of my life!! Highly recommend stopping in for a quick flight (or lessons, or a license)!

Because of the reviews about the instructors...I went with the further location. Wade Krepps was our pilot and he was absolutely amazing. Off the bat, you can see his passion for flying and was easily sociable. My bf was nervous at first but with Wade's positive feedback and encouragement made the flight an excellent experience. Thank you Wade, you've made this experience a very memorable one. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family! OH! And the owner, Maria...was easily reachable. She gave me her personal number because I was a little worried about the weather last week. Also, we were running 10 minutes late. She was very accommodating about it as well.

The flight simulators, hypoxia, decompression training is amazing. Obtaining my G550 Evacuation Crew status is a priceless training to have. Each one includes all the yarn you will need with a card or paper inside with color photos showing you what the end product will look like. This was *perfect*! I wound up finding a set and it made for a super easy purchase. One more fun thing: the shop owners will also wind the yarn for you at no additional cost. This is probably old hat for knitters but for me this was a very cool thing to witness so I had some fun too!
