This barbershop is super dope. TVs everywhere and playing OG movies like waterboy while your waiting or during your haircut. Probably put up the warriors game or raiders game if it was the sports season. Got Gustavo recommended to me from a friend. Dude did a great f**king job and takes his time to get everything right and make sure you got the cut you want. Seriously this guy goes the extra mile. 30$ for Guatcut and well worth it. Make sure you call ahead to schedule an appointment. I'm sure all the barbers here are great so you probably can't go wrong with any of them. Let me start this review by saying that the cut wouldve earned five stars if not for a minor miscommunication. I called ahead on a friday assuming any barbershop would be busy, turned out the afternoon rush hadnt begun. I headed over and got sat down immediately with Angel. Angel kept it real, gave me the exact cut i asked for down to the T minus one thing; asked for her to leave an inch on top instead she took an inch off. Not a big deal, she did a crisp clean cut, the fade was on point and skin tight, on top of that she also straight edged the lines up and included that in the price. The cut still came out looking good and a bit extra off the top isnt bad, it always grows back. Overall her station was well kept and she took her time in making sure the cut came out looking good. The shop itself looks well done, alot of work has gone into making it look professional, and its clear the barbers there take pride in having clean workstations and in their work. This place is definitely the place to get a quality haircut. It's not your run of the mill barber shop They really are above the rest. When I go for a hair cut I leave feeling like a king. With the massage while I'm under the hot towels I practically melt out of the chair and if that's not enough Flor there female barber tops my experience off with a manicure /hand massage.This place reminds me of cheers where everybody knows your name. My boy luis at ATR i used to see my younger cousins hair cut and be like damn who did that. He told me luis at ATR so i one day gave him a shot. I gotta say that i never went back to the old places. Plus im not letting any one cut me unless it him now. I will wait for days if need be plus travel were ever i have too. Overall I had a great experience. I walked in at 6:30pm and was hoping to get my sons hair cut before it closed. I was greeted as soon as I came in the door. They did a great job on my sons hair and lined it up really good. The barber Renji was really nice and asked what I would like for my son and did a excellent job. He was great with my little one. I didn't give it a full 5 stars only because we walked out with my son saying, "mama they where cussing!" I don't think they usually cater to children so there was profanity and in the music as well. But, it's a barber shop what do you expect. Also, there is nothing posted to tell me the prices and what services they provide. Overall I would highly recommend going her for a haircut. read more

I was in need of a quality haircut. For years I went to commercial haircut shops in Pinole & more recently a local hair salon in El Sobrante, but I always got the cheap quality haircut that I paid for. My wife suggested that I look for a barbershop to get a good haircut. I searched the local area and found ATR Barberstudio, which had good reviews. I needed a last minute haircut, so I gave them a call. I called 30 minutes before their closing time to see if someone could squeeze me in. I thought they might just automatically turn me away, but the man on the phone asked around and Anjel agreed to see me at 7:00 PM, which is their closing time. It was very nice of her to take the extra time to see one more client. Anjel was awesome! She listened to what i wanted and payed extra attention to detail, layering my hair and cutting it with nice style. She had a great touch and never buzzed or clipped me to hard. All the lines and shapes in my hair are perfect. She also had nice products that smelled great. Nothing goopy like that junk gel other places slap in your hair at the end. As I looked around at the other clients getting their hair and beards trimmer, I could see all other barbers taking extra care and completing very detailed work. I was impressed with the skills and quality of work by everyone. I had a great haircut at ART Barberstudio and I will be a returning client with Anjel. This might just be my new go to barber shop. I've been to this plaza on countless times, and only realized this place existed after leaving the massage place the other day. The barber shop vibe is super chill. Mo and Dru are pretty cool folks, especially on a Monday. Although, I've been told they're not always open on Mondays unless you make an appointment. Good thing these guys were out grinding when it came time for me to get a cut, which I strangely prefer to do on a Sunday or Monday. Overall, the fade came out clean, plus it's kind of hard to mess up a bald fade + 3 on top unless you're really bad with the clippers. I do appreciate Dru taking his time and paying close attention to detail. I'll definitely be back here for sure! read more

I went to Above the Rest Barber Studio and had an amazing experience. When I walked in they all greeted me as if I was an old friend who they hadn't seen in a long time. I walked in without an appointment and they accommodated me very quickly. They seemed to be very popular as every chair was full and almost all the customers who walked in had pervious appointments and were obviously happy with the outcome of their haircuts. Every customer who walked in that had been here before were greeted by name and you could tell the shop works hard to keep a good rapport with their customers. Once I sat in the chair the barber who cut was hair was named Luis, he was the owner of ATR and gave me an amazing haircut. He gave me exactly what I wanted as I had explained it and has a talent for knowing what you want and giving it to you. 100% would come back and definitely refer this Barber Shop to others. read more

Called to make an appointment; Arturo (Turtle) gave me the option of booking earlier in the day with someone else, or at 3PM with him. Opted for 3PM with him: he passed me along to someone else anyway; guy with nasty toenail fungus in the chair next to me was mixing mimosas in his mouth; cops chased in and out a homeless guy (who needs all that drama during a haircut); don't think I'll be going back. I'll stick with my guys up at Hilltop for $10 less, or try out your shop in El Sobrante. read more

I was recommended to this barber shop by a friend. I was looking for someone who could do a nice haircut for my one year old son. Drove all the way from Sacramento for the appt but I heared such good things that I was willing to try it. My Son freaked out the moment we walked in which I already knew would happen. He kicked, moved, screamed and cried but came out with a great haircut which I was shocked that the barber was able to accomplish such a good cut even though my son did not cooperate at all, and still remained patient and very friendly.
