To start their efforts to stay safe during this pandemic are phenomenal. The staff is super friendly an accommodating. Their hours have changed and they close at 3:30pm now, they also only do thing by appointment. They were so nice to anyone who didn't know and either got them an appointment for later or found a way to squeeze them in. Now onto the hair cut! Each barber was super knowledgeable and very confident. Oscar helped me find a better haircut for my head. I've been switching it up for months and have never been truly satisfied. Not very good. Came here a couple of months back as I was visiting family for a wedding and needed a haircut. As I don't live in the area and had my cousin make the appointment they were very hostile from the minute I step into the shop. I must've been asked at least 10 times in the 20 minutes I sat if I had an appointment and who it was with as if they didn't believe my the other 9 times I told them. When it was finally my turn to get my haircut the guy I was sat with didn't even have the care to clean the chair or any of the equipment that he had just used on the person before me and didn't seem to give much care on my haircut and just seemed to wanted to get it over with asap. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone even if your desperate. read more

Marcos did a great job! They take their time on the detail. I took my son in and didn't know what to ask for but he made his hair look 1000x better than great clips. It's a bit pricey for me so 4 stars, probably more on special occasions or for family photos at his age. Also the floor was so covered in hair (I know it's a barber but this was from hours/many clients). They styled his hair. Great lighting, cool music. Knowledgeable staff. Wish they had more affordable kids pricing for a kids cut but you do get what you pay for. read more

This is the 2nd time I visited the place. 1st time it was great, Jordan did a great job. But the 2nd time was bad. Not because the barber did a bad cut, but because he didn't do what I asked him to do. I told him I wanted to let my hair grow and I explained him that and told him NOT to cut anything from top... I guess he understand not to cut from the front since he met that part and he cut the sides and back a lot. Fully stretched my hair could reach the top of my ear, now it is 1 1/2" above my eyebrow... It's a good place, but I can't give them a good review if they don't follow instructions. Very mad since I really want to let my hair grow and I he set me back weeks. read more

I recently lost my barber to him moving out of state and I needed a haircut, So I did some research and found Oacar's barbershop, Not too far from home with good reviews and a nice story. I figure I pop in and do a walk in since it was morning during the week, As I arrived, I tell them I'm a walk in and if they had someone avail ? They check, come back a minute later and Introduce me to the barber. It was nice not to wait, Unfortunately that was all that was positive about this visit. I explained to the barber what I wanted...Just a mid fade all the way around a little off the top. I'm not super picky, But Do know what a good fade should look like. 15 minutes later he claimed to be done. There was Zero attention to detail, He didn't even ask me if I wanted gel or product ! Not sure if that's extra or I needed to request it here but I walked out with dry hair. Felt weird that I sat and finished when everyone around me was still getting cut. I really wanted to like this shop to make it my new spot but based on what I got I don't think I'll be coming back. I know this shop is busy and Barbers maybe have their regulars. But as a potential new regular customer I felt like he had better stuff to do in the back room vs making my experience not feel rushed or just a Walk-in customer. Pros: Oscar and his crew were really nice. The barber shop is really clean and stylish. You feel like you're walking into a professional shop with a professional atmosphere. Cons: Oscar's prices are the worst I've ever seen and I lived in California and Hawaii. I've had my haircut all over Salt Lake and the most I've paid is $16. Oscar charges $25 for a standard cut and $20 for a kid's cut which is absurd. I walked out paying over $50 for my son and me with tip. The barber that cut my hair was a younger guy. He was nice but I could instantly tell he was fresh out of barber school. For those prices you should be getting some real experience. Needless to say the cut wasn't very good in comparison to other barber shops with lower prices. In all I'd recommend going elsewhere if you want a descent cut for a descent price. read more

During a recent stay in West Jordan, I had to find a place to take my dad for a cut and shave prior to a family event. I was nervous because my dad is a super picky guy who has been going to the same barber for a million years. After finding Oscar's online, I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Not only did Oscar's Barbershop book us quickly and easily, but they gave my dad the best barber experience he's every had. He couldn't stop talking about how friendly and professional all the guys were and how they were able to give him the exact cut and shave he was looking for. So the Hubs has time to get a much needed haircut...on a Sunday. I'm long distance and basically ground control since he's freshly deployed in a foreign land aka Utah. He's not a fancy kinda guy, just four sides (a flat top). Step one- finding a place open on a Sunday- and with no appt. Step two- finding someone who can DO the cut. I find Cutthroat via google maps call and they say they can do one. So I dispatch him asap. When he gets there they say it'll be a loooong wait and he must remain in the waiting area because they won't look outside or text you or go the extra mile basically. I saw the clientele when I visited later. Mainly youngish, electric car, dudes with manicures, trendy beards and gym muscles. Too metro for him. But this isn't a review about them. He calls and says, "find somewhere else". I find Oscars- ask if they can do a flat top. Yes! (whew- a deceivingly simple cut actually takes a LOT of skill). And the ONE guy that can do it was put on the phone- Jordan. He says he'll have an opening in 45 so I direct the hubs to whom he should ask for. Jordan is indeed skilled. Hubs has a difficult pointy head that you need to judge how much hair to leave so the point doesn't look bald. He got everything he asked for. They texted me photos before he got up. It looked great 4 precisely leveled sides we can level the pictures now lol. I also checked out Oscar's while visiting before writing review. This place had it's fair share of trendy, but it also had old school, hard core, brick buster muscled and callused HEMI types IOW you can get off work from swinging a maul all day and not feel you have to shower before you get your hair done. It seems more barber than salon. Anyway to each his own, the place is on point for us. Cost was about $30+tip. He'll definitely be going back. read more

I liked this place. I went some time ago with my son. They were very professional. Offered us bottled water. The cuts were great and the prices pretty standard. Location is perfect with plenty of parking. I loved the facility's design. The only thing I would say is that they were a little more on the slower side. We had appointments and had still had a considerably long wait. If they were to fix this it would be the go to spot. read more
