His POA is the one paying for his current care package, which is very limited, and as a result, he receives very little attention. We only learned through the hospital that he had fallen and gone to the ER. The next day, the nurse was attempting to get him out of bed without even knowing he had been injured -- potentially worsening his condition. That is a serious red flag. Apparently, because of strict privacy laws, we aren't given any access to information about my grampy -- even when it directly affects his care. I understand that there are rules in place, but it's extremely upsetting that our family can't be informed or involved when he's hurt or needs help. We're only trying to make sure he's safe and cared for properly, and it feels impossible to do that when we're kept in the dark. Under 105 CMR 150.000 (Standards for Long-Term Care Facilities), long-term care facilities in Massachusetts are required to follow specific standards for Resident Care Policies and the confidentiality of information related to residents. Blaire House of Milford should be following these standards to ensure proper communication, safety, and respect for residents and their families. I truly hope raising these concerns doesn't affect the way he is treated, but this situation must be addressed. We tried to pursue POA ourselves to advocate for him and ensure his needs were met, but our case was dismissed, leaving us unable to intervene directly. This entire experience has caused our family a great deal of stress and anxiety. All we want is for him to be safe and treated with the care and respect he deserves. PLEASE FOLLOW RULES INCLUDING STANDARD CARE FOR YOU RESIDENTS!!! The POA has not visited the patient in 2 months!!! The POA could care less if they are alive or not. We have filed POA abuse and will be doing so again!

I also didn't like how I would have to hunt down staff to reposition my dad. Sometimes, up to 4 hours had gone by and they hadn't repositioned him. This was mostly an issue with the day cure. I'm absolutely disgusted with how they took care of my dad once hospice said he was in the transitioning stage to passing away. I had the RN come check my dads oxygen level and it was at 76. We asked her if we should have my brother come and she said yes. Two hours pass and she didn't come in once to check on him, knowing he was passing to see if there was something she could do to make him more comfortable. She only came when I had my brother go get her because my dad was literally grabbing for his throat and needed more atropine to dissolve it. What nurse doesn't check on a patient that they know is in the dying stage. The nurse that came on for the 11-7 shift was great. I recommend seeking a better facility that has all around better care for your loved one.

All members of the team were tightly coordinated and in sync in supporting us as my husband's transition accelerated after a very painful fracture of the shoulder. From Faith, a very experienced hospice aide, to McKenzie, the case manager who visited us almost every day, to Connie the weekend nurse whose wisdom, insight and patience carried us forward, to Catherine, the social worker, Valerie, Reiki specialist, and Frank the Chaplin - all brought unique and supportive perspectives as we navigated this challenging time. My husband and I wanted to do hospice at home and as his decline accelerated, this hospice team made the journey possible. I am forever grateful for the wonderful care my husband received and the comfort care my family was given. I would strongly recommend this hospice! Hard to express how truly outstanding the team was!!

If someone was unable to answer a question, they admitted it & got the answer for us. As a nurse, I can be very picky with medical care. We were so lucky to have Lindsay as the primary nurse for my mother in law. She guided the entire family ( 6 children!!!) through the dying process. She was able to anticipate needs of everyone & facilitated them, while always putting my mother in law first. She was also able to arrange for a well needed massage from Poppy who was perfect. I cannot say enough about this hospice team!!! The best- don't go anywhere else.

5/8/20 Current Patient…read more I'll start with the latest. I received a call today at 10:27 AM from the VNA nurse scheduled to visit me (she left a message) - the problem is, this is one of the two nurses I specifically asked not to be on my future schedule, angered I called her back and declined the visit. This review is being spurred by difficulties I'm having with this organization "right now" *I first asked for a copy of my medical record on 4/20/20 *Second, I asked that two of the VNAs that have visited me in the past not be on future schedules of mine. *Definition: VAC - Vacuum Assisted Closure I spoke to the receptionist on 4/20/20 with the two requests above, she took my name and number, said she would pass it onto the head nurse and someone would call me back. I received no such call! While in the hospital, before being released to VNA for further VAC treatment, my VAC changes were set at three times per week. I was released from the hospital on 3/18/20 to VNA with the VAC changes set at the same three changes per week. Around the week of 4/13/20 my VAC changes were changed to two times per week by VNA without first talking to me or my doctor. During the week 5/3/20 - 5/9/20 I will have gotten one VNA visit instead of the required three....... This review is a bit lengthy, to read it in it's entirety follow the link below to Google Docs.
