The waitress was really nice and said one table was leaving soon and she put some tables together for my large group. She was pretty attentive for serving almost the whole bar alone. My mom and I split the burger and mesquite butter wings I think they could've been a little more saucy, I didn't mention anything, but I'm sure she would've brought me more. If I asked. I heard a lot of good things about the ranch and it was good once I really really tasted it. I didn't find it that flavorful off the top but once I really tasted it, it did have good flavor. Maybe this was a fresh batch that needed to sit. My dad got the buffalo chicken eggrolls. They were good, but we didn't realize it would just be chicken dip in the eggroll wrapper We were expecting shredded chicken with hot sauce and cheese or something similar. I came to celebrate my granddad's birthday just to try something new and he generally likes bar food. He enjoyed it as we sang happy birthday to him. The other patrons and the waitstaff also joined in and someone even offered to buy him a drink. this is a really nice bar if you're looking for good food , good vibes and nice people.

There wasn't a lot of information about this restaurant online, so I decided to go check this out…read morefor myself and get some information going here. The restaurant is on the main drag at Freeport Road, but it's a little hard to spot due to various trees being in the way. This is more of a bar than a restaurant. They have counter seats, a couple of elevated seats and a few regular seats. The place is very clean and the waitress was very nice. The restaurant does not have paper menus, just a menu written on a chalkboard on the wall. It's not a major issue, but they need to get menu's. The restaurant also does not have silverware ready at your table for you. That also needs to be fixed as while most of their foods are items you pick up with your hand, sometimes forks and knives are needed. The prices are reasonable and you can get two apps and two meals for under $50. The main draw of this place is the chicken wings. They are one of the few places in Pittsburgh with full-sized wings with both the leg and the flat part together. The wings are breaded and are good enough to eat without even putting sauce on them though they give you a box with 8 different sauces to choose from. You can get 6 of them (which is 12 wings elsewhere) or a full dozen (which is 24 wings elsewhere). 6 wings for $12 and $12 for 22. They have wing night on Wednesdays, and the price drops to 75 cents a wing which is very cheap these days. We also ordered burgers, fries and onion rings. The burgers were good. They give you a nice big piece of meat on them and the bacon was good. The fries were okay and the onion rings were very heavy on the onion part of it. The pretzel was a standard pretzel but the cheese for it had either an alcohol or possible honey flavoring to it. The restaurant also does offer happy hour where the apps are half off which makes a big difference. Finally, the restaurant has a lottery machine, darts, a slot machine and some table board games. Overall, I liked the place and would return.

There's no signage outside for applewood so I consider it an almost burger speakeasy! The burgers we got were so flavorful and delicious and we were are blown away by this hidden gem!! My applewood burger was incredible and the maple sauce was delightful. November 2025: lightly edited realtime notes:…read more - This is like a pop-up restaurant that is inside of a bar. - Buffalo wings, Nashville hot wings. The wings are cooked perfectly. The sauce is weak. The fact that the wings are crispy and fried and 100% dead-on makes up for the weak sauce. All things considered, 4.2. Could be 4.6 to 4.8 with decent sauce. In retrospect, having tasted the sauce as a side (below) I think they tossed the wings in the sauce when they were too hot, kind of denatured things, and got too much oil in it. The sauce is actually very good, and these wings could have been a notch or two better if they had let them cool for just a hot second before tossing them. These wings have the potential to be some of the very best in the city. - Onion rings here are just absolutely perfect. Think of the best a Burger King onion ring could be, and these are four notches up from that. - The french fries are OK. - The side of buffalo sauce that they brought us from the kitchen is so much better than how the wings came out; I am presuming that the wings were tossed in the sauce too hot, and not enough. These guys actually have a great buffalo sauce. - I got the Smashburger. Cheese, lettuce, pickles and their special sauce. No substitutions permitted. This burger is excellent and exactly what I wanted. 10 of 10, would totally order again. - One of our group got the signature applewood burger."It's delicious!" - Another got the farmhouse burger and seems to be completely tickled with it. "It's really good. How can you go wrong with bacon and egg on a burger?" Unfortunately, restaurant was out of the cheese sauce tonight. We observed that the cheese sauce would've made it "fire." - J got the Cajun burger. "Awesome. Very good!" He wishes he would've asked them to add bacon to it.

My default when I don't feel like being disappointed…read more @thepubat333 is that easy "let's just go to..." and no one argues it because it just...works. There's enough going on menu-wise that everyone figures it out, and I'm not exaggerating-every single time I've been there since they opened, someone at the table orders a French dip. Every. time. It's basically part of the experience now. Also if I see pierogi, I'm ordering pierogi. That's just who I am. Could've taken down the entire plate without blinking but I shared like a respectable adult (meanwhile mentally tracking which ones were supposed to be mine). It's just a laid back, neighborhood spot that doesn't try to be anything crazy and still ends up being exactly what you wanted. Fun fact: my friend and I once prank called from their landline, the owner immediately called back, we answered like nothing happened, and yeah...the phone was no longer an option for us after that

Bar seating was almost full with only a couple seats. Heard good things about their pizza too. There's free parking in the lot (although small). Shout out to our bartender Ange! The black and bleu shrimp was absolutely amazing. It's got blackened spice and has this creamy sauce that makes you go dip for more (I need that recipe honestly). If I had some bread, I'd definitely use this as a dip lol. We got the thin crust Sicilian pizza to share. The pizza unfortunately was very wet and kind of soggy. I think they could have waited to let it rest for a few min before serving because it would especially show when we were separate the slices and try to take one off the plate. I don't usually want my toppings and cheese to just slide off the pizza. Also since we were at a bar w/ some of the games going on, we wanted wings and got their crispy whole wings in a dry spice rub. They were pretty big wings and well seasoned -- not too spicy though if that's not your vibe.

The best part was that the Parmesan was spread all throughout the fries instead of being clumped just at the top or bottom, which made every bite delicious. The inside is fairly small with tables on one side and chairs lining the other. As an FYI, the chairs are fairly narrow because of the arm placement, so if you are a larger person, it might be uncomfortable. The menu is simple. They have wings (and a variety of sauce options) but I didn't order or try them, so I can't speak to that. They also have two different fry size options with about 12 different options for the dipping sauce. Some were standard (mayo, ketchup) but they also had unique flavors like curry ketchup, mango mayo and andalouse. I ended up with the mango as my included choice and got an additional side of the andalouse. The fries are cooked to order, so it can take a bit (I imagine when they are busier they might have some precooked) but they were cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of crisp and salt. But the dipping sauce is what really makes the experience. If you order to go, you don't get the fun, traditional Belgian fry cones which I understand (because how could they be packed efficiently to go) but it was a tiny bit disappointing. There is a paid parking lot across the street, but there is also a lot of street parking in the area as well. This is definitely some place I will be back to visit!
