Mr. Friez was amazing! We ordered the Parmesan fries with truffle mayo sauce, and everything was excellent. The server was so nice, and our fries came out quickly. The best part was that the Parmesan was spread all throughout the fries instead of being clumped just at the top or bottom, which made every bite delicious. We also got a Coke in a glass bottle -- honestly the best part to top off the meal! One thing to note is that seating inside is limited, and the chairs are very small, so it may be better for a quick stop rather than a long sit-down meal. Definitely recommend! read more

I was in Lawrenceville for an event and was drawn to the bright yellow sign of Mr. Friez. I'm a sucker for all things french fries, so I knew I had to try it! The inside is fairly small with tables on one side and chairs lining the other. As an FYI, the chairs are fairly narrow because of the arm placement, so if you are a larger person, it might be uncomfortable. The menu is simple. They have wings (and a variety of sauce options) but I didn't order or try them, so I can't speak to that. They also have two different fry size options with about 12 different options for the dipping sauce. Some were standard (mayo, ketchup) but they also had unique flavors like curry ketchup, mango mayo and andalouse. I ended up with the mango as my included choice and got an additional side of the andalouse. The fries are cooked to order, so it can take a bit (I imagine when they are busier they might have some precooked) but they were cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of crisp and salt. But the dipping sauce is what really makes the experience. If you order to go, you don't get the fun, traditional Belgian fry cones which I understand (because how could they be packed efficiently to go) but it was a tiny bit disappointing. There is a paid parking lot across the street, but there is also a lot of street parking in the area as well. This is definitely some place I will be back to visit! read more

My friends and I stopped in kinda early after a night of a few drinks. I'd say we were there around midnight-ish and the place was packed. Like out the door. It's a small, former store front establishment with limited interior and sidewalk seating. More of a grab and go. Hence, the cones. I have had these style fries in Belgium and Amsterdam from where the concept hails and I can tell you they have nailed it. Perfectly cooked fries with that "snap" crispness. Great flavor. Lots of dipping sauces to choose from as well. One of the better late-night, out for the night and I am hungry, kind of places. read more

From truffle mayo to habanero mango, smoked eggplant, yellow curry, Andalouse, and their signature Mr. Friez sauce--there's a dip for every mood and craving. Even though it's Monday, every day can be Fryday if you try hard enough. Mr. Friez in Lawrenceville does fries. It's right there in the name. But these aren't any fries, bub. They're Belgian fries, and you can tell the difference right away. They're crispy but not hard, fluffy but not limp. Honest to God these were some of the best damn fries that I have shoved down my throat. Plus the corner that they sit on is great for people watching (and by people I mean dogs). We have been wanting to try Mr Friez and decided to get some as a late night snack recently. The place is pretty small but a few tables are inside to eat. We had to wait a bit because everything was fresh made which is good for us! We ordered fries with a variety of sauces (do note you do get charged for each sauce!). The fries were delicious and crispy. I loved the texture. I wish they had a tad more salt. We didn't personally care for the ranch (it had an off flavor) but the truffle mayo, garlic aioli, and Mr friez sauces were very good! read more

Love that this place is open late so that if you go to a movie or a concert or to a bar in Lawrenceville at night, you can go and grab a quick bite. The fries here are good! Very crispy and feels double fried? There isn't a lot of seating inside but it's meant to be more of a grab and go place. They have a lot of different sauces but I wish they had some vegan sauces since I've had some really good Belgian frites with vegan mayo in other cities. read more

This is a great late night spot for food in Lawrenceville! Sometimes you're just craving fries and not a whole meal so this is perfect, especially after going to some bars on butler street. Surprisingly good quality fries and the Mr. friez sauce is sooooo good. Somehow they are soft on the inside and have a crispy crunchy outside. The restaurant itself may have some air circulation issues because it smells deeply of the frying oil. Probably just old Lawrenceville building problems. But on a nice day they have the door open to ventilate the restaurant plus there are a few small tables outside. $10 for a "small" which can easily be shared with 2 ppl. I wish the fries came with more sauces included in the price. You only get 1. But I suppose it's a good reason to go back! read more

I saw all of the reviews on this place so I had to check it out. They have two size cones to choose from. We got the regular size which was plenty enough. The Belgium fries were delicious and not greasy. They have 16 sauces to choose from. The first one is complimentary and additional ones are $1.50 each. Chicken and fish also available if you want. Would take everything here with a grain of salt as this is the first week they have opened. I got the Calamari and chips. Calamari was very well fried and its breading was light, would definitely order again. Fries were as advertised but felt overly greasy. The meal overall was good value and could probably be split by two people. As a lunch, the food is far too greasy and has landed me in a malaise, probably won't be coming back in that capacity. However, the place is open until 3AM and located between a litany of bars, seems like a perfect place to stop amid a bar crawl. This is a proper Euro style chippy. Yellow potatoes, clean oil, crisp fries without being overly oily or dry, curry sauces, and the fish and shrimp are both extraordinarily well done. Batter is perfect, light and airy, doesn't take away from the flavor of the fish and shrimp itself. Absolutely flawless execution, I'd give 8 stars out of 5 if I could. Based on the reviews I read on here I just had to try. I got the calamari and fries. The combo was served hot and in a cute little box. The Calamari was okay and little bland, but I thought the fries were better. Could be if I'd gotten sauce, and sat at the restaurant, I would have enjoyed them more. I ate the Calamari in the car while driving because I didn't want them to get cold. Nothing worse than cold, rubbery Calamari. The fries were delicious and stayed warm until I got home. I'll order again but I'll sit outside the restaurant with the dog and take my time eating, if the dog lets me have any. read more
