The entire Atrius network is full of crooks and incompetent staff. The amount of fraud I have encountered with doctors and NPs billing grossly inaccurately is remarkable. I've reached out multiple times in an attempt to have them correct it but keep getting the runaround. They've performed numerous unnecessary or incorrect labs as well. To make matters worse, even when you get abnormal test results, they don't bother reaching out to explain anything The irony is, when they want to milk you and insurance for $, they'll recommend all types of unnecessary follow ups and procedures/ surgeries for something that should not be a concern. I've yet to actually see my PCP; I've only been able to see the NP. The quality( or lack thereof) of care is appalling. And if that wasn't enough, they never have specialty appointments available. If it wasn't next to impossible to find a decent doctor taking new patients, I'd never return to this disaster of a place. read more

When getting blood drawn, my symptoms were handled poorly. Although the phlebotomist was trying to help, I ended up fainting and falling out of the chair after she had lifted the protective arm rest to "provide care" rather than laying me back and putting my feet up per usual protocol. I was 28 weeks pregnant at the time and landed on the concrete floor belly/face first. I ended up smashing and bruising my face and legs and had my tooth pierced through my lip. I was rushed to the ER in an ambulance, had X-rays/CT scans and was monitored overnight with absolutely zero follow-up from anyone at the Atrius Health Dedham office to this day. No one has even returned any calls. Horrible client care. read more

My elderly parents are tied to this place mainly because their preferred primary physician works out of here which took over for a failed prior group a serious of doctors (including theirs) belonged to. I've encouraged them to find a better facility but elderly people I guess are reluctant to change what they're familiar with. This group is the worst. It's possible the doctors themselves are OK but every other member of the staff running their facility, communications, and any interactivity with patients OTHER than the doctors are horrible. I have had to call on their behalf numerous times to advocate for them. One time I was complaining that nobody there was accommodating passing along my mother's requests to the doctor after over 2 weeks and the pathetic human on the other end just laughed at me. Calling to ask for simple prescription refills never happens after numerous calls, barely any call-backs, and there seems to be minimal concern placed onto actual patient CARE. I have had two extremely caring, very knowledgeable primary care physicians at Dedham Medical. The first, Dr. S. Gopinath had to take care of a family member in another country. Now I have Dr. Erica Frank whomI believe to be an excellent doctor. I had two concerning issues that she took on and solved very quickly. She is very well informed, can find the answers to complicated issues in a timely fashion. She is current, knows who to call, etc., after working in major Boston Hospitals for 27 years I have had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful doctors. Just to be clear, this review is about the administrative part of this medical office. EVERY time I call, the receptionist or nurse that I talk to is either short with me or just plain rude. It makes me feel like I'm inconveniencing them by even calling. I dread having to call. One example of this is: My doctor sent a prescription over to CVS to be filled. CVS told me they never received it and I needed to call my doctors office. I call back the next day because by the time the prescription was "sent" to CVS, Dedham Medical was closed when I needed to call back. The person on the phone told me that my prescription "printed on console". I asked twice what that meant and was told "It means that it wasn't sent". I said alright and asked what the next step is. I was told that this message would be sent to my PCP for approval to be re-sent to CVS (was never sent in the first place). I asked if she had any sort of ETA and was told "Whenever the doctor sees it". With that we ended the conversation and now I'm just sitting and wondering if my prescription will be filled 4 hours later (noon) or maybe closer to 10 hours later (6pm). It seems common that a prescription is sent over right around closing time at Dedham Medical (6pm). So if god forbid there is an issue, it's too late to call back. It's just like pulling teeth to get things accomplished with the office/receptionist team there and is very frustrating. I like my doctor, but because of the poor customer service and treatment by the office team there, I'm considering switching practices. Went to my first appointment here. The pros. It was easy to get to. Off route 128, if you like the highway, and off route 135 - if you don't. I had no trouble finding it and the traffic wasn't bad on a weekend morning. When I went to register there was no line. I was quickly seen and had no trouble quickly getting my labs and tests. Parking was available. But... yes the check in woman rudely barked at me my name and date of birth to register. Do they measure them on time taken or something, they are always so... rushed? The doctor I saw really needs to work on her bedside manner. I feel she was trying to put me at ease but it came off dismissive and minimizing of my problem. I won't be back to her as I don't trust she will take the issue seriously. Why are you a doctor if you don't want to be bothered with medical problems? I will give Atrius credit... usually lately they have been sending around after visit survey's and I have been filling them out. I look forward to this one. It just seems like it is a larger problem within the profession of health care workers losing empathy once they are in the medical profession for too long. My father has been a patient of Dedham Medical initially at their Dedham location and years later he started going to Norwood location. I have been taking him to his appointments in the last six months. I had never been at Dedham Medical before. I find it extremely convenient, with friendly staff, very flexible hours, their blood laboratory is located right on the first floor as one enters and no elevators or stairs needed(is truly convenient for someone like my dad). Ample parking, and appointments are not dives in months but in days and weeks. I am thinking of changing my doctor to move my file to Dedham medical including my family but I live farther away so it might be difficult. read more

Before Covid I would say great care. After Covid, not so much. Rude receptionist that shows no compassion or empathy. Been a patient here for over 20 years. Went in for an appt to check BP. I mistakenly showed up 2 1/2 hours before my appt. Receptionist was rude and not understanding that I lived 30 min away and had arranged for a ride to the facility. I was told I had to wait the 2 1/2 hours for something that literally takes 30 second to do. I then sat for 2 1/2 hours listening to the Norwood internal medicine receptionist be down right rude to everyone that checked in or had a question. On May 18th, I had an appointment with Dr. Lily Wong set at 8am. Typically, it only takes 20 minutes for me to drive there, however there was heavy traffic that day and I arrived at 8:10am. That morning, I left the house at 7:10 am but the traffic was so bad it took an hour for me to get there. I was only 10 minutes late yet they refused to treat me and sent me home immediately before I had the chance to explain. On previous visits, I'd have to wait 30 or more minutes just to meet with the doctor but just because I was 10 minutes late I was sent away. This is completely unfair and was caused by uncontrollable factors. This place has wasted my time and in order to sign up for an appointment again, I'll have to wait for a long time. Avoid the Orthopedics department here like the plague. I had seen Dr. Anthony Webber about 15yrs ago for my back pain and he repeatedly kept prescribing me pills, despite me telling him they weren't working; his response was "I see lots of patients, I can't keep everything straight." He would send me for frequent MRIs and never would call me with the results. I decided to make his patient load lighter and left for another practice. My new orthopedist was great and immediately spotted a fracture in my vertebrae from an x-ray Webber took when I was 16yrs old. Fast forward to this year when my old rheumatologist at W Roxbury left and the system shuffled me to Dr. Noreen Ferrante, a rheumatologist in Dedham's orthopedics department. I tried not to let my previous experience cloud my judgement, really I did. However, Dr. Ferrante only sees patients 3 days a week between the hours of 11am and 3pm. Strike One. She specifically asked if I had a MyHealth Online account and said that was the best way to reach out to her. I called in April to make a follow up appointment and was told her first available was in August. I have been in lots of pain so I called and emailed her back in July; both have gone unanswered. She has failed to return calls or emails to my PCP who is looking for an update as well. I called Dedham's Patient Concerns Coordinators and they are equally unresponsive, nor do they care that their doctors aren't doing their jobs. This morning I received a call from a nurse in Braintree telling me that her doctor was covering Dr. Ferrante's in-box since she is on vacation for the next 2 weeks. I called Dedham Medical to find out what's going on since I have my appointment scheduled while Dr. Ferrante is away and (surprise) I'm still waiting for a response. read more

Since they were bought out by Atrius so many doctors have left and the place has changed for the worse. The doctors who are there are nice but you can tell they are heavily regulated with their time. If you want doctors that will sexually assault you, receptionists that will hang up on you for asking for an appointment, and your health needs dismissed by your doctor then atrius health is right for you! If I hadn't gone here I wouldn't have PTSD every time I walk into a doctors office. I reported it to the people at the front desk at the time, they had me write down the trauma id just gone through, and didn't do anything with it. My PCP, Nobita, has denied me referrals to dermatologists every time I ask despite the fact that my acnes gotten worse since she put me on medication for it. Because, according to her my skin is "too bad to see a dermatologist." That medically doesn't make sense. She keeps insisting my skin is too bad for a dermatologist to do anything. It's been years of this. She's as cold as they come. Countless times have I left her office or gotten off the phone and been sobbing. These people are co, cruel, and don't care about patients in the slightest, let alone your health. Recently, I hurt my foot to badly to walk and had to fight with two nurse practitioners to see a specialist. Meanwhile they themselves couldn't figure out how the Velcro straps on a boot worked (I wish I didn't mean that literally.) I believe this is one of the worst big health organizations you can go to. As I write this, I am on hold, because I was denied a follow up appointment with my podiatrist the one time I saw her in person, she said I'd be walking by the end of the week, it's Thursday, I still can't even stand for over a couple seconds with the boot on, and I am on hold, like I have been, for 20 minutes. That's 20 minutes not including the first time I called, where I spent all my time on hold and was then hung up on! And of course this was the only referral they gave me! An hour away from my home! Because apparently there's not a single foot doctor near me seeing patients! Their doctors are as incompetent and dirty as the system running the place. You would be better off going anywhere but here. UPDATE: I STILL HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO SEE A DOCTOR AND ITS BEEN MONTHS. I CANNOT WALK AND ITS 100% THE FAULT OF THE EMPLOYEES AT ATRIUS HEALTH. I have been at patient at Dedham Medical for more than 20 years. I adore my primary care physician so my entire negative review is directed at the admimistration, venture capitalists, insurance companie and other penny pinchers who don't care about the complete medical care of their customers. The only thing they care about is how much they can milk you and your insurers for and try to get you more reliant upon their money machine. Over thge years they have perpetuyally reduced support staff to increase profits for the higher ups, who don't care about medical care tbhey only care about profits to line thgeir own pockjets. When I had no choice but to go there yesterday the facility lkooked more like a morgue than an active facility. For all intents and purposes it was obvious that they are cutting to bare bone medical care. In fact they are transitioning to having nurses replace Drs setting up plans of treatment and use the Drs to confirm the plan so they can milk us or our insurers which we all [pay for in our premiums! I would like to know ho9w much those honchos make and how they justify their exorbitant salaries when they cut staff and cause stress in trying to get medical treatment. Time to stop patronizing anything related to Harvard Vanguard, they indoctrinate us to their system and make money on everything from our prescriptions, medical care, medical tests etc Are all the expensive tests necessary ? 3 years later and I am still traumatized from going somewhere I should feel safe and taken care of. It's the exact opposite at Dedham Medical now. I switched to a fabulous direct primary care practice because I was so tired of no one taking my health seriously at DMA. At DMA all patients are a nuisance and an inconvenience. Dr. Nobita Chatterjee, Laurie the secretary, and Cheryl the nurse, are truly awful. Chatterjee is a cold, outdated and unreasonable human being that should have a warning label next to her name. I left her office crying so hard because of how MEAN she was, a patient in the waiting room sat down and asked to pray with me. The poor lady thought I just got diagnosed with cancer or something. I only wish I had read the yelp reviews before going to Dedham Medical Associates, in Dedham. On 9/12/18 I was a patient at D.M.C.. I chose this facility because of Dr. Levine. The procedure I had was for spinal injections that he did in other clinics. He is a great doctor and I have always been very pleased with his practice. The problem was with the staff. Upon arriving I was led into a room and the nurse took my blood pressure and left me there. I never saw this person again. After the procedure was over I was told okay, you may leave. I have had this procedure done in many clinics, and a nurse would take me back to my room to recheck my vitals. I am an 80 year old woman and have never felt so mistreated in my life. I was not taken out to the waiting room, where my granddaughter was waiting. Usually I am wheeled down to the front door for my ride. I was sent out of the clinic with no concern for my well-being. Primary Care Service has dramatically declined. You need to know your body and take responsibility for it. I was sick with an upper respiratory issue and 3 different doctors (one included my primary) ordered 3 different "pairs" of inhalers to get me better. Each one stating, "I don't know why Dr. __________ ordered those inhalers... they are not the right ones. I don't know why Dr. ________________ ordered those inhalers... not the right ones! Get my drift? So 6 inhalers later, at $620 dollars, I was put on the correct inhalers and got better. The billing department... well, they are just plain abusive! All of them! It's strange to see bad reviews of such a great hospital. I've moved around the country and have gone to PcP in several states. This has been the best place I've used to date. My Dr. is outstanding and her staff is amazing. All the support staff are friendly and helpful too. I find the complaints really weird. One person is upset they don't take their health insurance. No hospital takes ever insurance. Or the guy who was 30 min late to an appointment was upset they couldn't fit him in the same day. Do you know how valuable a doctors time is??? Dr. Tarnell's receptionist kept on cancelling my appointments the last minute without my consent. I've been trying to sign up for a new PCP with this practice ever since my previous PCP (Dr. LaRue) left this place. No such luck. There are only 2 female drs available and both of them are located ib the Dedham branch ( I prefer the Norwood ). Anyway, on 3 separate occasions,I logged into my MyHealthOnline account to set up an annual physical with Dr. Tarnell (booking at least 2 months out), when the appointment date approaches,I get an email fron the office that "that appointment is not for a physical ". What?!i waited 2 months for it and they cancel on me the last minute ? this is absolutely unacceptable. So I switched. I now go to the Sharon Beth Israel PCP and Im very happy. I used to be a patient here before I moved away, and I did like my PCP, who I thought was thoughtful. I also like that it's very centralized in terms of billing, testing, etc., and they have an urgent care center that often can save you a visit to the ER. (Not obviously if you're bleeding to death, etc.) They also have specialists, too, making referrals easy. I've also called on weekends and gotten a quick call back... Basically, they offer a lot of services here and that's important for me as a patient to minimize bureaucracy, and I think it's worth it. read more

I've been bringing my kids here for years, but our last two visits have been unpleasant. Enough to have me looking for a new doctor. The nurse practitioner who does the weight/eye/blood pressure check at the beginning of the appt is just miserable. She made us feel uncomfortable. The kids actually asked me if she was mad at them. She has zero business dealing with children or working in a doctor's office. I get that everyone has a bad day, but we had the same experience twice with her. I'm a senior citizen and have had the same doctor at DMA for over 30 years. Because of the pandemic my annual physical has been delayed by four months. No consideration was given to my longevity as a patient. All this time, my doctor never once checked on me to see how I was doing, or show any concern as to my health. I never received any direct communication from DMA re updates. My doctor is not reachable by phone and the office cannot transfer me to a nurse. Very disappointed. read more

Agree with Vanessa B's review, which said the staff works with an attitude towards patients. Just called the GI dept. for an appt per my doctor's referral. Talked to 2 different ladies for an appt that would work with my work schedule. Both of them were cold and treated me as if I were an idiot. Asked for an appt time on Tues or Fridays, but only got the answer that the earliest appt will be a Mon. It took me a while to figure out that that doctor only works on Mon and Wed, because they wouldn't say that unless you EXPLICITLY asked about the doctor's work days. When I finally asked for a different doctor and they did offer me a Friday, the same thing happened again when I tried to request a time that would fit my schedule that day. I am a new patient at Dedham Medical. My primary care physician in Norwood is good, but my issue is with their radiology department. I had to drive to Dedham for an ultrasound and was stuck in traffic. I called them up and told them I will be a little late because of morning traffic. It took me 1 1/2 to get to Dedham so I was 30 minutes late. When I arrived, they told me that I was late and would have to wait (which I was ok with me). After waiting 30 minutes, they told me that I would have to reschedule!! I would have been fine if they just told me from the beginning to reschedule the appointment. Instead, they were vindictive and made me wait 30 minutes then told me to reschedule. read more
