Horrible! YOu might as well be a wheel in a factory. You are a piece of machinery, not a person in this place. It's very impersonal and they just move you through their system as quickly as possible. The Dr. I saw twice there was very nice, but she's under such constraints that it's not enjoyable or a good way to practice medicine. I would not recommend going here. The only positive is that the xrays are in the same building. You can go in, see the Dr, have xrays/blood work, etc and go back for results. read more

They love to ask you, in public and in front of everyone in the waiting room, if you'd like to pay your bill. They dont care if you've already paid it, or havent even gotten a bill. Just switched to this place for Primary Care and it is awesome. The facility really is a one stop shop for anything you need and the staff is caring and helpful and just all around nice. From the moment I walked in, the reception to the doctors were great to work with and it was nice to be in a place that cared about my health for once. I had the worst experience with Dedham Medical and I am physically suffering dearly due to the incompetency of my PCP that I had. I wrote a letter explaining what had happened and how upset I was. And I was actually shocked to receive a phone call on November 1, 2018 not from my PCP but from Dedham Medical's complaint department and she told me that she would investigate my situation and get back to me. Well, is now March 20, 2019 and I have yet to hear from them. I guess this proves to me that they really do not care about their patients at all. read more

I completely disagree with the poor reviews below. My family has had nothing but outstanding service and experiences with this practice - including the helpful secretaries and other office staff. The Doctors that we have seen have been excellent and urgent care appointments have been very easy to get on short notice. After being with DMA for over four years, I think I've had more than a decent sampling from both offices in Norwood and Dedham. read more

My primary care doctor is Regina Wu. She is the most caring, thoughtful and thorough doctor I have ever encountered. Her care of me is top-notch and her diagnoses of some of my issues have prevented more serious ones. I highly rate Dr. Regina Wu as one of the best PCP's that Dedham Medical has on staff. read more

I have been with DMA for many years and while yes I have come across a few doctors here and there I wasn't happy with personality or what not. majority of my experience has been very good. I see Dr. Scott Perman and NP Maureen Walsh as my 2 main providers. And I have nothing but good experiences with both. I am a queer male (pansexual not gay) who has had very positive experiences getting any std or hiv tests without any judgement or stigmas. Doctors who may not understand my bipolar or anxiety are never afraid to ask me questions to better understand me as a person and help me avoid treatments that could harm those. I can say beyond 1 doctor and 1 incident with a less professional secretary both issues I will say got handled and fixed may not been instant but got dealt with. They have always gone above and beyond to understand my individual patient needs. II may complain when something goes wrong or struggles but in end doctors and staff go beyond to help when things go wrong (be it insurance games or medicine needed not covered) they make an effort to fight for the patient. even the stubborn ones like me who don't always listen to advice! I wanna give them the overall 4 star they deserve. 1 thing keeps from getting 5 star is they have so many patients they often over booked when things pop up need be looked at last minute unexpected. This however is because they are so good everyone wants to be in the system. I wanna add Dr. Scott Perman is by far in all the doctors I have met or seen in 33 years of my life the best doctor who treats his patients as people not just names on computers and tries to get to know his patients as people to understand and treat them best as individuals. He goes above and beyond to make sure his patients are taken care of! I can not speak for all doctors but both He and MY nurse practitioner Maureen Walsh are an exemplary example of how medical professionals should aspire to be more like. read more

I am considering switching because his secretary at his new location, Dedham Medical, is repeatedly unprofessional and dehumanizing. I have been a patient at Dedham Medical for about 15 years and can tell you quite a bit about them, and nothing is ever perfect, but I think in general they do a good job and actually improve your health care experience versus other options. I have found Dr. Perman has been a great primary, and when working with him as the PCP, his team always schedules specialist appointments on the spot for me. My only annoyance is sometimes he seems a bit rushed, but that is the way the systems work with most outfits. I think they should be better there, but he is accurate, seems to care and I am a fan. An added bonus of using DMA and using their DMA network team is your PCP handles all referrals as soon as they are recommended while leaving your visit, even if you see someone outside of the DMA network of Doctors. I have had very good experiences using Faulkner and Newton Wellesley Hospital. We have ALL had annoyances dealing with the bureaucracy of medical insurance, and there is no question that the red tape stinks anywhere you go, and frankly I am not a huge fan of the price motivated health system we have in the US, but it is what it is. I have found though that DMA does it as well or better than anyone else in the Boston area. Advantages: You can get nearly every service handled in the same building (blood work, dental, eye, etc., specialists of nearly every discipline). Disadvantages: You can seem a bit rushed there, but you know the deal, and you are your own advocate and if you prepare for a visit with a list of your issues they all get handled. PS. I have found the front office check in staff to be really friendly, and again sometimes they are busy, but they are very nice and efficient to me. My wife had issues with a couple er specialists elsewhere via her primary care physican elsewhere (which she likes) and she is considering using more DMA doctors given my and now her recent good experiences there. read more

Dr Connie barre add internal medicine is one of the worst doctors I have ever encountered she has missed diagnosed a broken ankle and told me to stop tying my sneaker too tight when I was found out to have a fractured ankle another time I had a rash it turned out to be a very serious blood disease that was misdiagnosed for sometime...Not only that she has interfered with my treatment from other doctors would not recommend her to anyone if I didn't have to put one star I wouldn't ... also they may have lots of x-ray CAT scan and all the good stuff that all the hospitals have but if you don't have the right insurance they send you to norwood hospital affiliated with them and also the worst hospital I've ever been to read more

Am visiting here for first time. Person at registration desk was rude. I said "Good morning and she barked "Name and DOB." Again I said good morning and I added DonnaMarie and I gave my DOB. She said "Donna you have a $35 copay today." Ok a Good morning would have been nice in return and my name is not Donna but Donnamarie. I walked around lost and returned to the desk. I approached a new registration person when called and said "Good morning I checked in already but am unsure where to go for my appointment. Could you please help me?" She said "Good morning and began asking me for my info again. I politely reminded her again that I had checked in. She asked if had gone to my appointment already. I replied "Not yet, I'm lost and hope you can help me." The people at the front desk don't seem to listen to the patient and at least one if them needs to learn some manners. read more

I've been going to Dedham Medical my whole life, and I've never had problems until recently. My doctor, Elizabeth Tarnell, is great. She listens to what's going on and is very sympathetic and understanding. Her receptionist, on the other hand, is horrible. I called last week to ask a few questions about a prescription and get it refilled. I was on hold for about 20 minutes when someone answered and immediately hung up on me. It seemed like it may have been a mistake, and working on the phone all day with clients myself, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I called back again and was put on hold for another 20 minutes (taking up almost all of my lunch break). When someone finally answered, she were incredibly rude, spoke to me as if I were stupid, and immediately transferred me to the prescription refill line, completely disregarding my questions. The woman also never introduced herself, although after how rude she was I can see why she wouldn't want anyone to know her name. I have new insurance, and with the new insurance it was actually cheaper for the name brand medication instead of the generic. The new insurance also requires that my prescription be written for a three month period instead of one month. I left that information on the refill line, and asked that someone give me a call back to confirm that this was okay. I never received a call. A few days later I called back to check to see if everything was all set. I was put on hold again for about 20 minutes, and when I spoke with someone I got the same rude woman as before. I said I wanted to follow up on a prescription refill. She checked on the status and said it was waiting for the doctors review. She then immediately hung up on me before I could finish asking the rest of my questions. I did not bother calling back. A few days later I received a notification from my pharmacy that the prescription had been filled, however it was for a one month supply of the generic form (the exact opposite of what I requested). I would love to file a complaint against this receptionist, however I don't know her name and I'm not sure how to do so. I work on the phone all day and can completely sympathize that it can be frustrating at times, but this woman needs some customer service training (or possibly a permanent vacation). The last thing I want to deal with when I'm sick and have been waiting on hold for a while is someone who is rude and hangs up on you before you can get all of your questions answered. read more

I am writing about Pediatric Dentist in Norwood office. I took my 8 years old son to check up, the doctor told me after he finished looking at his teeth that he had a cavity in tooth # 3 needs filling and he suggested also to do sealing for his permanent teeth too. I came home and called the insurance to see what is my plan benefit, the representative told me that this doctor is charging the insurance way more than the other and of caurse that will make me pay more . I called another dentist and made an appoitment to take my kid there for another opinion , the shoking news was , my son does not have any cavity in that specific tooth or in any other one, just healthy clean teeth .... I have found that both the Clinical and the Administrative Staff at the Dedham Medical Associates have always been courteous, professional and efficient. The Dedham and the Norwood facilities are both clean, well appointed and have terrific parking available. The check in process is easy and quick. Having urgent care at both facilities is wonderful and saves one from waiting for an appointment for urgent, but not critical, matters. The reason I did not give 5 stars is that the billing department has been both rude and patronizing on more than one occasion. Overall, the care has been great. My PCP is second to none and all other clinicians I have seen at Dedham Medical have been wonderful. read more

I've been a patient at Dedham Medical for 56 years, beginning when I was one year old. My parents, sisters, wife and my three children have been patients there as have various nieces and nephews. Every single one of us is still using Dedham Medical because we are enormously happy with the care that we have received. For example, I've lived in London for the past 25 years, but I still fly back to the Boston area a couple of times a year to see my PCP and my dermatologist. Yes, it's more bureaucratic than when the practice used to be in a remodeled house near Dedham center, but I believe that the practice is able, in part by dint of its size, to attract really good doctors. This place is ridiculous. My 6 month old is a "patient" of Dr. Bolton. I say "patient" because she's only actually seen her ONCE. ALWAYS a nurse practitioner. When i went to schedule her six month appointment (you know, for immunizations...a timely matter), I was told since i "didn't book a year in advance", they had nothing available until she was 8 months old. What on earth?!? She wasn't even alive a year ago, how could I have booked a year in advance??? Totally absurd. read more

DMA is a vast bureaucracy. Going there is more like going to a hospital clinic than a doctor's office. Some have had good luck with DMA aka Atrius Health ( the bills now come from Atrius so I believe they own DMA). I have not. Dr. Nobita Chatterjee does not listen, pays no attention to patient, excessively touts the services of DMA. It is her way or the highway and she becomes angry when the patient demurs. After 3 1/2 years, I had had enough of her and DMA and I left. YMMV. read more

Doctors and nurses there are helpful. However, the staff (particularly the secretaries) and completely incompetent. Various times I have booked appointments and the secretary gave me the wrong date to come in. I would then go in and get scolded for missing the appointment when I was told to come in at that time. Also, being able to fill prescriptions is an absolute nightmare. Trying to get refills is almost impossible. The pharmacy would contact the prescriber and no response would be given for weeks. I don't know if it is negligence or laziness on Dedham Medicals end but responding to refill requests should not be difficult. I call to fix these issues; eventually they are fixed but not until talking to multiple secretaries that tell me it will be filled and then no action is taken. I plan to leave Dedham Medical, it is a joke. Get it together. read more

Dedham Medical used to be excellent, but not anymore. I love my doctor, she's great, but the service at DMA is awful. I have called just to schedule an appointment and have been on hold for 20-35 minutes many times. While you wait on hold they tell you about how many great services they offer and they keep repeating, "your call is important to us". Obviously, it is not important to them. You can go online through their portal to send emails. My doctor is excellent about returning emails and answering my questions, but her staff does not respond. Stay away. read more

I don't write reviews but the experience I had with the lab at Dedham Medical(the Norwood branch) was probably one of the worst I've had in any hospital. First I'd like to say that the pediatrician for our son is awesome. Dr. Midura and her nurses are always courteous, informative, and super patient on our son's visits. On our last visit though, we had to have blood work done for our one year old son. I can say that the lady that helped us was super rude and needs help with her people skills. Now this is already a tough thing to go through; being a new parent to have to hold your child down to get blood drawn. The lady who took the blood had a tough time finding the vein and pricked both arms before only getting half a vile of blood. She goes well this isn't going to work and that there wasn't enough blood to do any sort of test. So I asked should we try again. And she goes "I'm not touching him again and stormed off." So she just leaves us in the room with our crying child and no clue on what to do next. Meanwhile, I can hear the nurses outside the room talking to each other on who would like to try next and how the original person said she wasn't going back in. Now, I'm OK with someone not having the confidence to try again or is having a hard time. But how do you tell the parents that you're not touching their child again and then storm out. Finally, another person comes in and does the job in like 45 seconds. She also seemed like she was frustrated she had to be the one to help. I figured out what the issue was when we were leaving because the initial lady helping us was talking to a friend outside of the hospital. The gentleman was in the waiting area with us when we went in. I guess she was in a rush to go outside and chat with him. If it weren't for my son's pediatrician and her staff. I went to dedham medical for one day to establish a primary care doctor. I had Dr.Chatterjee. She really such a bitch. We did not connect at all. One day was enough for me and also the receptionist are not the friendliest people . Just the whole atmoshere was just strange nobody smile or anything. I work in a hospital myself and customer service is very important if you want to see the patient coming back. People don't just look at how good the doctor is. They judge the whole practice including the people that work there. After that experience with Dr.Chatterjee I decide to go to a major teaching hospital in Boston. I love my doctor he is awesome!!!!! He even e-mail me on my birthday and wish me a happy birthday. I thought that was so awesome!!! read more

worst experience. I had skin tag removal and the surgeon charged $ 1120 diagnosing excision of tumor and some labs. I called they kept in hold and again sent me bill restating it is correct diagnosis. And I called back again the receptionist said DR changed diagnosis cuz my Insurance won't cover if they say skin tag . Very disappointed in my mammogram last week. The technician's handling of my breast was more painful than the compression. She was rough, grabbing and pulling. When I stepped away and told her I didn't even get an apology. She just said I need a good film. My appointment was on a Friday and her name begins with an A. Beware. I had a good pediatrician however their billing system leaves a lot to be desired. Sent my child in for a regular physical in the Norwood office and now they are not only billing for in house lab test but also for lab test sent by them to an outside company. Now the outside company is also billing me direct. They ordered test because they did not have the records at the time when we went in for a scheduled physical. Semi New patient of Dr.Chattergee... She is perfectly nice. However in my case I have had to deal with the front desk staff on a more regular basis. The front desk at internal medicine, particularly those in charge of answering for Dr.Chattergee are some of the most unpleasant women I have ever had to deal with. I think this may be my 3rd ever yelp review and very first negative one but I am SO fed up. I work as a receptionist so i know what an acceptable level of customer service is. Trust me when i say they exercise such a poor level of customer service its almost enough for me to switch doctors again. In the year i have been with this practice I have spoken to ONE friendly woman named Danielle. Who was helpful, courteous and understands that although they may not enjoy answering phone calls... the person on the other line squeezing in a 20-30 minute hold during their own busy work day, just to be spoken to like crap wants to be on the other end a lot less. read more
