Long story short, I was charged a "discounted" amount of $892 for a 68 minute repair job from arrival to leaving, on a pvc pipe that I already dug around and located. I was also told when I called, they would arrive between between 2-4 pm. Didn't show up and I called at 4:29 was told within the hour for arrival, it was 5:55 when they arrived, they left at 7:03, and I missed out on hours of my own work because of the delay and lack of communication to notify me they wouldn't be there until 6.. I had a leaky main line that I located the area, i dug out for easy access, they came and assessed the repair and said it wouldn't be a hard fix. Spent 36 minutes on the pvc repair, spent 25 minutes waiting for the pvc to bond and dry. Tested the water, pressure was fine and then paid the amount since why would I try to negotiate with the employee, shame on me. I contacted their office and was told it's a per job amount and not hourly, and when I mentioned that it's over $700/hour for the amount work and when I compared to the going rates that it was extremely high. I was told that the cost was to keep vans and tools in proper working order, for the office to be open and insurances paid. Guess I'm in the wrong line of work. I was then questioned where my sources were for where I obtained the information if going rates and that I was unable to receive any discount. I was told my bill was already discounted several hundred dollars from the original amount because I had already dug the hole, but $892 for approx $15 of pvc pipe and glue and 1.125 hours of labor is thievery. Will be recommending against using this company, I advise to call around before reaching out to this company. read more

This place is a joke. I called them yesterday due to a clogged toilet and bathtub. I let the person on the phone know that I had this problem last year, and the plumber had to sneak it from the roof. So the guy showed up and said he can't go on the roof. He said he could snake the bathroom sink and it would cost $379. I told him that the sink isn't backed up, and never mind I will call someone else. Then he tried to charge me a $49 service fee. I said "well you didn't service anything and they told me on the phone you would go on the roof". Needless to say I didn't pay the $49. After he left I called Roto Rooter and they were here within 30 minutes and fixed my problem for $175. read more

Waste of $79. I understood the truck roll fee of $79 and it would be waived if you decide to purchase services with them, but I wasn't expecting them to come and quote a $5,000 job. Technician did give me several options but they all ranged from $2,700-$5,000 to replace 3 toilets. Told the technician thanks but no thanks and he called his manager who "magically" dropped the price $2,000 down to make it $3,000 to replace 3 toilets. Call your local plumber before dialing their number, they are not there to help you, just to fi d more ways to rip you off. We had a clogged toilet that was backing up into our shower. We called them thinking it was a good idea since they popped up on Google first. The plumber came out, couldn't find the clean out, there were two, ran a snake through the toilet and apparently ran a camera down to see that there was a break in our sewer line. Charged us $974.00 for the snake and then quoted us $5,400 to fix the break in the line. He was supposed to mark out where the line was broken so we could dig it it. He later talked to my husband and said we would probably need to replace the whole line and quoted us $15,000. We just moved in to our house and had been living there a couple weeks. Stress, anger and sadness doesn't even begin to describe how we were feeling for about 5 days. On top of that, our toilet and shower didn't work at all after Atta Boy did what they did. The worker never came out to mark the spot where the break was, said sorry and he would be out the next day, never heard from him. We called a local plumber who cam out, told us he was outraged by Atta Boy's prices, and explained to us that you can't put a camera down there if there is water because you won't be able to see anything. The local plumber suggested we call and get our money back because he would have charged $100 for the job they did, not $974. While they were working on my plumbing I called and got a call back from Mike who was very condescending and simply said, "well that's how much they charge and this is how much we charge." I explained to him that the worker that came out couldn't even run a camera down the line with water being there and he said, "we used the camera for free." I said he didn't even come back out to mark where the break was, he said, "he did, and used spray paint" I said no he did not, there is nothing in my back yard, he said, "the rain washed it away!" You've got to be kidding me, it didn't even rain this weekend, not to mention I was in the back yard with my kids and dog while he left and never came back there. I lost it on him after that and became very un professional at that point. My husband later told me the worker said he was sorry and would come back to mark the spot. This manager named Mike was a complete liar. The local plumber charged us $200 for a clogged sewer line. There was no breakage in the line and the sewer line was no where near where Atta Boy plumbing said it was. Please do not call these people, they are scammers and do not know what they are doing. This company gouged me for a small job that should have been around $100. I needed one flex hose on my water heater replaced and was told they could only do both, I was quoted $600! I was on a deadline (as we are selling our home) and felt pressured by the $80 I was already spending just to have them assess it. I felt it was too expensive but don't have a plumbing background and figured others would've charged similar. After calling around I quickly realized I was being overcharged. The owner, Mike, gave me a small discount, yet I was still way overcharged at $485. That night we then noticed a leak and realized the pressure valve was damaged. After multiple requests to talk to the owner, he finally called me and told me I needed to replace my water heater because it was so old and that they wouldn't be fixing the pressure valve they broke. I have never had any issues with my water heater the 6+ years I've lived here. I 100% regret going with this company. All they did was try and persuade me into spending more money. He is not knowledgeable in even basic plumbing tasks & outright rude when you question his "plan of attack" or mention getting a second opinion. Assigned to my plumbing repair via home warrantee company American Home Shield. After 3 weeks of no action, called to ask what was going on. He blamed the long lead time for the parts, but could not give estimate of their arrival. Then the home warrantee refunded my deductible fee; I asked the warrantee company why. They told me the contractor had backed out, giving them the reason he did not service instant hot issues. All this with no heads up to me. 1) Mike told me he had installed "dozens" of these units. 2) He told me he had received authorization from the warrantee company to proceed. 3) He told me the part had been ordered. 4) He did not communicate to me he was "off the job." It is never fun when you need a plumber but thankfully after calling almost every local plumber and having several come out and give us quotes we decided to go with Attaboy as their professionalism showed from the customer service call, scheduler to finally the plumber. There attention to detail in showing actual pictures where I could view my issue and the time they took to explain the process. I don't want a bandaid on an issue I'm going to continually have to fix. That may work for some but the long run cost of a bandaid costs more in the long run . I appreciate how they explained the different options and was happy my pipe issue would be finally fixed for good. my cold water faucet in the bathtub would not turn off. I made an appointment with add a boy plumbing for the following morning. The technician arrived promptly, took out his iPad and started figuring out all the steps. He would need to repair it. The quote.he gave me was $1100. I was incredulous and he went out to the truck to call his boss to get a better price which was $795. I had a houseguest, and I really needed to have access to water so I agreed. He took the stem out of the faucet and showed me where the ceramic piece had broken. I asked him to.replace the hot water one since they were the same age. He left to get the two parts, and when he returned, he installed them. I checked that both faucets worked fine, and they did. The next day I got online to find out the price of the two items he replaced, and found that it would've cost me less than $60. So it seems that labor was $735, too much! I asked for an itemized list and received "labor and materialast $795". I'm going to file a complaint with the contractors licensing board in Sacramento because the whole process was just unacceptable. I feel I was taken advantage of and gouged for a job that should not have cost me more than $300 I definitely do not recommend this company! read more

If there is 0 star I would give no star to this company for sure. Micheal came over to fix my bathtub that was clogged. He was extremely rude ,so unprofessional and overcharged. He just stayed for 10 to 15 minutes and charged 152. He was insulting me afterward even and it was out of line already . I never seen any technician to insult customer at customer's house, especially when it is first time. He didn't mind to talk so rudely without any respect and I had to pay him for most worst service on top of that so it was awful experience with him but still tried to be nice. I ended up talking to one of managers there who was much worst than this employee. Usually manager is very respectful and good at communicating with customers but NOT THIS MANAGER. He was insulting, mocking, and embarrassed me at his office where there were other employees around him without any problem. He didn't hesitate to talk to me so disrespectfully. I wish I could give a NO STAR rating. Recently we had a clogged sewer line problem. I was stressed when the line backed up. I went to the web and picked a Attaboy Plumbing, an established company from Chico. The service takes the weekend and two days to come to the house. They asked $500 to clear the clog and would not start on the repair until I signed an agreement to pay the bill. They sent me a contract to my phone. I did not read the contract carefully. It was very small type, too small. They went to work and said they could not find the clog--and that the $500 plan did not guarantee they could clear the clog (this was stated in the contract, but never verbally mentioned)--clearing a clog successfully was in their $1200 package. And he went away after giving me a bid for $4,200 to fix the clog and a broken line. He drove away without me accepting the bid of $4200. They drove away charging me $500 and the pipe was still a clogged and the drains were still backing up. And I am stuck paying the $500! read more

I had a good experience with Mike. He was the plumber sent out from American Home Shield. Needed an new one so he headed to Hone Depot. It was denied before he got there, but he came back and hooked up the cold (none leaking part). After a 12 day run around from AHS including them ordering my standard gas water heater from some outfit in TN and had it shipped to CA. 13 days without hot water. Once he received the unit he promptly fit us into his busy schedule Mike did everything properly and tried, don't blame him if it is an AHS warranty issue! They sucked!! read more

5 stars for sure! I called Mike of MT Plumbing for a second opinion on how to fix a 50 year old broken faucet. The other plumber immediately said we needed to replace the faucet and the old pipes behind the wall. Without knowing the other guys price, Mike beat the quote from the other plumber but the best thing he did was recommend that we try to REPAIR the old faucet first rather than tear up the wall and replace the faucet and pipes. Mike's suggestion worked perfectly and instead of a $750 job and a lot of mess and headaches it ended up being a $170 job which lasted about 30 mins...and I didn't have to cut any tile. Great call Mike! Mike is friendly, doesn't leave a mess and professional. He was wearing a company shirt and gave me his card immediately. The other thing I liked was the app he used to communicate with me. It notified me of the appointment, when Mike was on his way and when the job was completed. I paid with a check and received an electronic receipt. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more
