We had a vertical crack in our foundation that was allowing water to leak into our basement. The lead time for most places was much longer, just to get an estimate. We purchased a wonderful home about a year ago and at the time the foundation appeared to be okay. Recently we noticed that a portion of the house which was on a newer foundation was creaking and a few cracks appeared in the walls and the ceilings. We gave Luc at Attack a Crack a call and he came out at a great time that worked for us. He spent some time looking over our foundation and the walls and concluded that the cracks were likely not due to foundation problems but rather drywall issues. The few cracks we had in our basement slab were normal given the age of the house and did not pose a significant threat. We appreciated how we were given advice on how to monitor the cracks for future problems and the fact that we weren't upsold for any services we didn't need. Maybe the most "worth the money" service I have ever done. Without discussing actual cost, let's leave it at saying that to fix my situation from outside the house, would have cost me 4-5 times what Attack asked. It was done in a matter of hours and very little mess. Compare that to 2 days or so of external digging and a messed up lawn. Barry was great. Not impressed. Called Luke for assistance with a leaking bulkhead based upon the reviews and their website claiming they can fix a leaky bulkhead. Although they claim to offer free inspections, they refused to come and look at the problem and instead told me to take pictures. I told him that the pictures likely would not be helpful unless there was an active leak (i.e. right after rain) and asked that they come out to inspect. Luke refused saying that if I wanted him to come out he would refer me to some other company because there are only two of them and they could not take the time. I was quite surprised given the reviews that said they would come right out when you called. So I took pictures of the bulkhead and the areas of leaking around the top of the bulkhead as requested and texted them. I then got a call that they can't help me and that I should probably call a handyman or landscaper. What?? My problems have nothing to do with landscaping. My bulkhead leaks after it rains. Contacting this company was a complete waste of time. So don't believe their website or the reviews as they actually do not always do free inspections and they provide no service for leaking bulkheads. read more

Some water was getting into my basement. I couldn't identify how the water was getting in. So I started contacting all these basement companies. Each one was telling me (based on a video I shot of the issue) that they couldn't help me. At first Luke with Attack a Crack said that, but he was prompt to get back to me, and he suggested that I talk to a handyman. (Other companies didn't give me suggestions). I said the handyman doesn't feel comfortable fixing it. So Luke suggested that I take some pictures of the issue. I sent him pictures and based on my pictures he told me where he thinks the leak/crack is coming from. He was very specific too. He said its coming from your front porch step, not one step below. And sure enough, I lifted up the mat on the front porch and there was a crack in the foundation. (I poured a cup of water over the crack and it started to leak into the basement. We've found the culprit!) He was so patient with me, and allowed me to ask all these questions. And he let me send all these pictures via text. Which saves both of us a lot of time. read more
