UPDATE 15 Aug 2021 Mathew ... we contacted Anderson Plumbing Heating & Air to fix the AC problem and the AC is fully functioning now. Yes, we did a conference call with me, you, Hector & my mom. Yes, my mom said the AC was working. But my mom is 90 years old and, although she is still sharp mentally, she did not understand the whole scope of the problem. The difference between Hector and Anderson is that Anderson left a detailed written report of what he fixed. Hector did not. The report indicates that this was something Hector should have seen since he owns his HVAC business. Only Hector can answer why he did not notice the problem. You may want to review your continued relationship with him. I paid Anderson for fixing the AC. This matter has been resolved. Thank you for cleaning the vents. read more

This is a super long overdue review (hired Attic Services in August 2021) but goes to show I still have yet to forget the amazing service that I received from Matthew and Attic Services. I live in a high-rise condo downtown - specifically in an area where there has been a lot of construction and I thought the dust and debris from that work were agitating our allergies, but once we closed the windows and started pumping the AC, it didn't get better. Our HOA regularly changes our AC air filters, so I knew that wasn't an issue. I just assumed we live in an older building with dust, and I started looking into the HEPA air purifiers, which were really pricey and I wasn't 100% bought into their claims. As I was sharing this dilemma with a friend they asked if I had ever had my air ducts cleaned. I have to admit as someone who has lived in apartments and high rises my entire life I never even thought of it. I put up some information on Yelp about what I was looking for and a few companies replied, but Matthew was the easiest to talk to and work with, and as a bonus was available to come the next morning to offer a quote. While here, he provided a quote, which was comparable to what some of the others had shared on Yelp if not a little more attractive, and then he was actually able to squeeze us in that same morning before he had to go to another job. He was super professional, paid attention to detail (some of our vents were painted in so he was very careful not to mess up the paint), entertained all my questions about the whole process, respected our space, and put all the loud equipment on the balcony as my husband and I were both working from home. The whole cleaning and sanitizing process for our ~12-15 vents took about 2-3 hours. He confirmed that the vent over our bed that blows on us all night was the worst out of all of them (so so so gross), which explains why our allergies were so bad, but now that all of our vents are cleaned and sanitized I'm happy to report we are no longer having the same issues. I asked for a few quotes to clean my ducts for my ducted mini-split (3 ducts). Matt responded with a potentially good price, and was able to schedule me for service quickly. No charge for the initial visit (to see the possible work for a quote), which is great. Very accommodating on the times we had available too. Upon arrival, he wore boot covers, had a mask, and was very respectful of our property. He took a look at our ducts and was honest - said they weren't that dirty and I would be OK without the cleaning, but that a cleaning wouldn't hurt. I proceeded anyway, since I had never cleaned the ducts. Price was very fair comparable to the time, effort, professionalism, and care he took. He cleaned the ducts (meaning, got all dust out, sprayed them, freshened them), the air intake, the register covers (smoke from cooking around them), and checked them to ensure they were sealed properly. I was very satisfied with the work on the ducts. I then asked him if he could install a solar attic fan to cool the attic. He quoted me fairly (I had researched prices on the fans, so I knew what I should pay), ordered everything and installed the attic fan the following week. That install took about 1 1/2 hours and followed the same MO as the duct cleaning. Professional, clean, and proper. He caulked the roof penetration (did a good job since it rained 4 days later and I didn't see any leaking), and the fan has been working non-stop since. Last point, he forgot the operation manual the day of install (I asked to provide it since I keep all manuals), and he dropped it off the next day without fail. Can't ask for more from a contractor - professional, fair, reliable, and sincere. A lot of people say "you get what you pay for" in an instance of being cheap. With Matt, his prices are very good, and you get more than you pay for in workmanship and professionalism. Very pleased, you will be too. Thanks Matt! read more

I didn't know I was supposed to clean my dryer vents until my dryer stopped working. Matthew climbed into the attic and cleaned the vent from top to bottom, then replaced my old vent with a new, noncrushed vent. My dryer's performance has never been good but has really declined over the past several years.
