Ceiling project for radial barrier and insulation.
Arlene S.

My contractor had his insulation company back out on my remodel job. I quickly contacted several companies on Yelp to get estimates. AtticFiveStars were quick to respond. They were professional and showed up, did great work and got the job done quickly.

Text message to try to get some help/ schedule because they do not answer once they received payment.

This company came out twice since I had posted these negative reviews. They claimed to not find any openings in the crawl space. Seems unlikely if however, there were rats in the crawl space still. I finally hired a reliable company, they came out and found the hole in the crawl space. Along with that, the odor of dead rodents, urine and a skull of a dead rat. (AtticFiveStars claimed everything was sealed twice!) The new company happily sealed up the hole with cement. It only took 1 hour to finish. Anyways, I've gone to the BBB with the complaint of this company. I am extremely disappointed/ dissatisfied with them not doing a thorough job and being deceitful.

What an amazing job done by the crew. I forgot to get their name, but they were a team of three. On time and very efficient. So let's begin from the beginning my insulation project actually started last year 2020. I called and spoke with Virginia. She & I spoke on numerous occasions because I had to keep pushing back the install date due to other home projects happening and of course COVID! Let me say Virginia is so pleasant and accommodating. Excellent business begins with the initial phone call. Thank you so much Virginia. Now installation date 2/22/2021 appointment scheduled at 8:00 am. Let me say these guys were at my home at 7:40! The were set up, locked and loaded ready to start at 8:00 am. This is loved and appreciated. Nothing better than starting a project on time as they say they will. The guys allowed me to go into the attic and take pics in between each of the processes. Sorry to say I only too video of the finished project and can't upload to Yelp. Let me say I would recommend there company any day. Excellent work! Thank you.

More trash... unprofessional!

Where do I begin? We hired them for insulation and they did a good job. Rehired them for mudding and that job went south. They contracted out and left all these uneven ceilings and wall. After we painted the house we saw all the uneven ceilings, textured walls. We called them back to come and fix it- they outsourced to some other company and sent them over without letting us know. I text, email, called several times to find out what was going on. The guy who came to fix the job agreed with us that the work was POOR. He said he needed to get our house done asap bc he had other jobs. Attic never got back to me the guy started the job and left all his mess in my backyard - photo attached. Kept reaching out to attic for a response. The lady that answers their phones said she was in a class all morning and Marlon just didn't answer his phone and text. I am in the middle of finishing up my home but I will be sending attic five star a bill and will go from there. Unprofessional and unreliable. They lie communication to get the job is great. When you try and reach them to fix what they did wrong their communication is NON- EXISTENT! Please beware of this company!!!!!!!!

I'm very satisfied with my new insulation and attic access door. Very professional and efficient throughout. Pricing was competitive and fair, definitely will recommend. Thank you!

Floor cut is not precise left a big gap.

I hired Attic Five Stars to remodel attic. I was unhappy about their work. 1. Job quality is poor. Aweful paint job, drywall and floor installation. Please see attached pictures. Drywall has holes, floor cut is not precise. Gap is more than half inch. Ridiculous to caulk the gap. 2. Did not clean up job site at end of the day. They cut drywall, floor in front of entrance door. I had to clean a couple of times because they did not do it. 3. Poor communication. They installed 24 inches ladder instead of quoted 28 due to there is no inventory. I found the ladder opening is too small bad had to reorder the original product discussed. I had to spend 600 more on installation. They also covered two vents with drywall for convenience without my permission. I have to let them open the drywall to show vents because heater pipe need ventilation. 4. Not on schedule. Project was delayed several times. Someday they show up without notification. Someday they did not show up as scheduled. My lesson is not be mislead by good reviewed on Yelp. Do your research and supervise their work closely.

I appreciated Greg's honest assessment on what needed to be done. Upon receipt of the proposal, the price was fair and reasonable. The two man crew of Gustavo and Will were punctual and worked hard non-stop (except for a short break). They respected me and my home. When they were done, moved the items back where they were and cleaned up afterwards. The attic looks clean and fresh! I wish I knew about RBH Installation 15 plus years ago because the initial installation would have been done right the first time.

This review has been a long time in coming. We just finished a series of renovations and upgrades…read morethat took us several months. I am now looking back at the various companies with whom we worked, and taking stock of our experiences. We went with RBH because our roofer recommended them. We also took his advice for hiring the electrician and rain gutter company we selected. We were very pleased with these last two choices. RBH Insulation, however, was a bit of a different matter. Our attic cleanout took place on a Friday, with the crew returning the following Monday to install the new insulation. Upon them leaving for the weekend, I went up into our attic, and was dismayed to discover old nails literally all over the place, so much so that I texted Greg, the RBH representative with whom we were working. In one small, four-foot by four-foot area, for example, I picked up over a dozen nails. (One of the first things our roofer told us was that his crew's work stripping our old roof would result in nails and debris dropping into the attic. Understandable, of course, but that's why we were told to plan to hire a cleanout service like RBH.) Greg's explanation was that it's very difficult for his crew to vacuum out metal objects as they suction out the old insulation, but that they would go back through with a magnet to get nails. While his crew worked the following Monday, I sat for the entire time at our dining room table watching them go back and forth. At no point did any of the crew acknowledge that they'd received this directive. Neither did I see anyone come or go with a magnet full of additional metal debris, so I'm hoping that the crew actually followed through on this. What is more, the crew cleaned none of the dirt and debris that had fallen through the old roof and was now spread on the insulation of our HVAC system. See the pictures. I was under the impression that we were paying to have our attic cleaned. If they're spending hours and hours vacuuming, why skip this? The most disconcerting discovery I made upon inspecting the crew's work before they added new insulation was that they had completely broken one of the large wooden support beams that holds up a huge duct for our forced air. I heard plenty of crashing around above me while the crew worked the first day, but no one reported anything damaged. Whoever broke the support beam simply carelessly draped the drooping air duct over another one, and left it. This was no small break. I'm talking about a large board that measures about twelve feet from end to end. Again, see my photos. Greg made a big deal about the rodent-proofing his service would include. This was good news, as we live on an alley, and there is a storm drain next door to us, as well. I've seen the kind of thorough work that companies can perform to ensure attics aren't accessible to animals. When I asked the crew about this, they had no idea what I was talking about. Again, I messaged Greg. He showed up at our home with a bottle of foam spray, the likes of which anyone can purchase at Home Depot, and said he'd be giving this to the crew. Later in the day, I received a set of pictures that included one of the top of a light fixture that now had foam sealant around it. (I was never concerned about rodents getting into our lights.) Another shows a board that now has holes plugged up. (Not sure there was ever much of a threat that rodents would burrow into solid wood.) When my roofer found out how much we spent on RBH, he was very surprised. Apparently, the costs had gone up considerably. (We paid $1500 more than he'd estimated we'd be charged.) Additionally, our roofer told us that we would immediately notice the effects of new insulation; our air conditioning, for example, would come on far less often, he told us. This was not the case at all. We have noticed no change. I realize that RBH isn't exactly at fault for these last two details, but they added to our consternation when all was said and done. Greg strikes me as a nice guy, and was pleasant to work with as we got started. I've given three stars because of this, and because it's evident that the actual insulation job was thorough. Also, the crew did good work preparing the house to prevent dust and debris from the vacuuming process from getting into our home.
