I've been going to this hair salon for over a year now. They recently moved to a beautiful new location off of Westheimer. The property is beautiful, with a Mediterranean vibe that makes it seem like you're not even in Houston. There's plenty of parking. I go here to get my haircut. It's definitely pricey but it's a 5-star experience. Once you arrive, you're asked if you would like a beverage. I typically get some wine. From there, they wash your hair and give you a scalp massage. Next, your haircut. Then back to get your hair washed and finally, they put some product in your hair if you would like. I get my haircuts with David, the owner. He's a charming and friendly guy, I always enjoy the conversation. His staff, as a whole, is nice. I care about my hair a lot so I'm willing to pay a premium to have it done right and to have a relaxing experience. read more

I just got back from having my hair done at Attitudes and, honestly, I've never had such a great experience or results from a hair salon. From scheduling my same-day appointment to paying for the services, it was truly a fantastic experience. David, Isabelle, and the whole team were a pleasure to work with. To start, David immediately greeted me at the front desk, and began asking me what I wanted to do with my hair (which I understand is normal), but continued to ask what I do for a living, how I normally style my hair, and really began getting to know who I was as a person and not just another head of hair. After a few minutes of discussion, he suggested exactly what I envisioned without me having to show him a picture, like I normally do at other salons. David is a wizard with the scissors, btw. Isabelle was the color specialist who did my highlights and she was so conversational and down-to-earth, it made the tedious process more manageable. I sipped on the honey lemon tea they provided and chatted as though I was a regular. I also noticed that they had a great rapport with their clientele. There were many who appeared to be regulars according to how the staff and clients interacted. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming. The clients regularly interacted with each other, including me in a few positive comments. The finished results were fantastic! I mentioned to the receptionist that I don't think my hair has ever looked this good with the right cut AND color (which was one of the reasons I had gone 10 years without coloring my hair again) until today. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I went in knowing that I was ready for a major change. It has been years since I have had a "hair cut" and not just a light trim. If I was going to "CUT" my hair then I wanted to make sure I cut enough to donate to Locks of Love. David and Mya were so respectful as to make sure that my hair was cut in a way to make it as even as possible and in a way that would make it very easy for me to just wrap it up and mail it off. Then to my shock and surprise, I was given the cutest cut that was beyond my expectations. I will admit that losing that much hair (about 14" total from tip to tip) came as a complete shock to me at first, but I am loving my new look. Better take a lot of $ & be prepared to spend a lot of time! I went in for a root touch up & trim. I was told my highlights had been done incorrectly & that I didn't need a base color. That with new highlights done there I would be able to go 12 weeks before coloring again (not true! I have grays & definitely needed a base color, was back to another salon in 6 weeks!). The Owner David then talked me into cutting my hair much shorter than I wanted. After spending 5 hrs there getting highlights and a cut, I ended up with big old lady hair & somehow this ended up costing $350 (not including tip!) read more

After a consultation with David, the genius behind this place, and a colorist, we landed on a great plan that they executed flawlessly. So - in a nut shell - the owner David is super nice - I went in new to town - seemed like a nice place - actually, the place was empty - the second I walked in, I was informed of all the Kerastase products - thanks but no thanks, I generally buy what I need and not something that is shoved down my throat from the get-go. Really - I am not here to help you purge your inventory. Can I get a smile instead? At reception, I tried to confirm that the cut would cost $135...ok, a little steep but let's go for it - the owner himself is cutting my hair :)!! Non - committal response from the lady at front....so....this going to end well? After a consult, David tried to get me to cut much shorter than I need so I had to curtail that. I love my long hair, it's me and I don't need a fad cut and I do not need bangs. Repeat, put the shears away, no bangs, that's final. But I always love the chat before the cut - phew. We are on the same page. After getting a shampoo, I sat with wet hair - while David dealt with his delivery for the salon...so sat and sat, then he was back for a little while. Then he was on the phone and speaking to his staff - who were like not help to him at all. Aren't you the owner? Have them get the delivery for you WHILE YOU ARE WITH A CLIENT. Please don't leave the client with wet hair. Once back, he proceeded to put in a treatment in my hair (mind you an opened treatment **not a brand new treatment bottle** and with no explanation to me - I found out later it was $55). Come on!! David blew my hair out while on the phone..... Found out at the end it was $200. That's it. Never again. Never again. I will go to Paris for Paris attitude and overpay for a sales pitch and decent cut. Caveat Emptor. read more

This place is amazing! I went to David off of a recommendation from a friend. I had just gotten my hair done at another salon in town and they had screwed it up... twice. I thought I'd check out Attitudes Paris Coiffure-Boutique and see what they'd say about the mess that was my hair. When I stepped into the salon, I was immediately impressed with David and his staff. He instantly made me feel at home and sat me down for a consultation. David asked me a number of questions and truly listened to my answers and preferences. He took into consideration my age, what I did for a living, my skin tone, facial features, etc. I have always wanted to a hair stylist to to do just this, and surprisingly, have NEVER had the experience. It felt great! He also pointed out just why the screwed-up cut and color were not right for me (besides the obvious), showing just how much knowledge and experience he has. They were able to get me in for an appointment within a few days (saving me from having to walk around with horrible hair). Jamie did the color and David did the cut and style. They truly understand color and it turned out GORGEOUS - the perfect tone for my skin. The cut is amazing too. I wasn't sure what to expect since it's a salon and not a Barber shop but Joanna the men's specialist at the salon was remarkable. I came in on break and they were able to help me right away. She was very nice and could tell really new about cutting MENS hair. I got my usual fade and it was anything but a usual haircut. At the end of the cut it looked amazing! He has been wanting me to go short for awhile and last Friday I said go for it. He gave me the most fabulous, flattering haircut I have ever had. I have said this many times after he has cut my hair but this time because I truly stepped out of the way I got the most incredible cut and style. I went into Attitudes Paris for the first time today after hearing about it for years and years. A few weeks ago when I finally decided to cut my long hair off, I knew I wanted THE RIGHT person to do it, so I asked my friend, whose short hair I admire, who does hers, and she said David, the owner of Attitudes Paris. It occurred to me that this had been the response I had gotten from others whose short hair I complimented in the past. Making an appointmnet was pretty easy since I have a flexible schedule, I was able to get in within a week and see David; he could tell I was nervous when I showed up, but sat me down in his chair and asked me what my thoughts were on the cut, patiently letting me talk and show him pictures. He listened intently and then confidently shared his thoughts and showed me some pictures he had that represented what he wanted to do that merged with what I was asking for. The fact that he spent probably 20 minutes just talking to me before we even shampooed was very pleasing!! I have not had a hairdresser do this since I can remember. We were pretty much on the same page with our thoughts on the cut, but he encouraged me to let him go a little shorter than I was initially wanting and explained why and the affects it would have on the look and the cut.....and I am so glad he did! He gave me a great thorough cut! I LOVE IT!!!! and so glad I cut it off! No quick 15 minute cut that was done too fast. He took his time, he talked but not too much, leaving me feeling like he was focused on the cut (we all know the hairdressers that talk so much during a cut you know it affects the cut) and what he was doing. Slow, not respectful of your time and expensive. I was looking for a new salon to get my hair done and ended up wasting my time and money at Attitudes Paris Coiffure-Boutique. I made an appointment for a Wednesday afternoon to get my hair highlighted and trimmed. Jaimie did my highlights and did a decent enough job. I was then passed off to the owner, David, to trim and style my hair. I have short straight hair with no layers so you'd think it would be a simple cut. He tried to cut and dry 3 women all at the same time going back and forth between us, it was incredibly frustrating and disrespectful. I had to be somewhere at 6pm so I ended up leaving with wet hair cause I didn't have enough time to wait for him to come back to me for the blow dry. 4.5 hours, $350 (not including tip), an average hair cut and highlight later I left the salon feeling swindled. read more
