My aunt was discharged from the hospital in mid December, after 10 days of being in A-fib. They recommend this doctor, so I called to make an appointment and they gave me an appointment in late January. I wasn't happy about it, but understood it was the Holidays. On the day of the appointment, we waited well over an hour to be called in, then waited for the doctor another good while after the diagnosis and vitals were done. Once he came in, he checked the diagnostics results, the hospital records, and told us she needed to go to an "electrphysiologist", that there were many in town, that there would be no charge for the visit. After 2- 2.5 hrs, we left with no referral and, turns out, not even ax récord we'd been there. So we had to go back to PCP and request a referral, and now she has an appointment with another cardiologist in March. My aunt ended up in the hospital again for the same thing. I really resent the fact that he did not bother to save her a little time with a referral. read more

I came to check out my heart and I am happy to report that in such a worrisome matter I was met with a very friendlily staff. The first time I met with the doctor he assured me to be in good hands and eased my mind. The day before my ECHO I receive a call Sunday afternoon by the doctor to verify my appointment and answer any questions I had which, was a very kind gesture. I loved that my technician walked me through the entire process she gave me a sense of peace, making it a positive experience. I was even scheduled for the ultrasound at 8:30 AM and the results at 9:15 AM on the same day so I didn't have to wait long for my results or have to return another day. Dr Aggarwal is not respectful of his patients. Today I waited 45 minutes to see him. He came in without any kind of apology for the wait -- his time is more important than mine. He changed my medication and then the office staff called it in to the wrong pharmacy. read more

Unfortunately, I experienced severe side effects, so I made another appointment to discuss switching it. I was told he wouldn't change the prescription without seeing me again, which I respected and followed through on. At the follow-up, I waited for over an hour. I was seen by an assistant who came off very cold and rushed. Her tone felt dismissive, and instead of focusing on how the medication was affecting me, she grilled me about why I left my previous cardiologist. It felt more like an interrogation than a medical consultation. I was told Dr. Aggarwal would be coming in shortly, but he never showed up. Instead, another doctor I'd never seen before walked in and briefly went over things without much context or care. What struck me most was how drastically the level of care shifted after my insurance changed to Medi-Cal. The entire visit felt impersonal, like I was being processed instead of treated. I was then told to go back to my primary care provider to adjust my heart medication--something that has never happened in my life. I've been seeing cardiologists since childhood due to a serious illness, and I've never once been redirected to a PCP for heart-related concerns. It makes no medical sense and feels like they just didn't want to deal with me anymore. This experience left me feeling disappointed and genuinely concerned. It seems like the quality of care here is directly tied to what kind of insurance you have. That's not just upsetting--it's dangerous. When a clinic appears more focused on billing and policy than patient safety and continuity of care, it makes you question whether your health is really their priority. read more

Dr. Aggarwal is very detail oriented. You will go through many tests and other staff (Nurse Practitioners, physician's assistants, etc) before finally meeting with him once all your tests are done. He has an awesome coffee machine in the lobby that makes all sorts of coffees ... delicious! read more

The waiting room was clean and efficient. I was called back within 15 minutes. This was a routine part of my drs physical. The staff was friendly. I found the dr to be personable and he asked questions and listened and gave (what I consider to be) a sound report. read more

My dads had a stroke and first visit went well and I liked the dr. Unfortunately my dad was prescribed a medication that his co-pay was over 300.00. I called to see if they could proscribe a different medication that was less expensive since he is on a fixed income. They said to call his primary dr for a referral to a Coumadin clinic even though they handle this in house. They refused to send a referral to the insurance. When I contacted the office for a different blood thinner they would not help at all. I thankfully got his primary to refer us to a different doctor and prescribe a blood thinner until we can get into the new dr. I was very disappointed with the lack of empathy or concern this dr office had. If you have medicare and are a fixed income I would strongly suggest you find a different drs office. read more

WORST DOCTOR!!!!! July 2024 I asked if I will have a healthy pregnancy even in my condition. He told me my heart is fine and to change medication before pregnancy. November 2024.. 4 months later!!! I'm pregnant and didn't know. I'm at the early stages of pregnancy and Once I found out, I quickly called to schedule an appointment to change medications. Extremely unprofessional do not recommend. Because I had an emergency and had to take my daughter to the hospital and called the same day to let them know apparently thats a no-show and he refuses to see me as a patient because I had an emergency and had to take my daughter to the ER. I have never come across a doctor so rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. If you have an emergency on the day of your appointment be ready to have to switch doctors over missing ONE appointment. I also asked to speak with him to explain the situation and the front office staff was extremely rude and told me he will not speak with me and that I need to switch doctors. between a rude staff and a careless DR they could have killed me. went in as a refferal nurses aide tool vitals. during this she said oh my boyfriend is big too he needs to lose weight. nurse did a EKG on me while doing this she said you and I both have same problem we are both big and can stand losing weight. I didnt go to F ing Jenny craig. the Dr came in said hello and walked out. The nurse then said they needed me to do treadmill test, I said I will call back. I contacted my GP and told him I will die before going back, I got another referal for another DR the young DR took a look at me after mt EKG and asked how I felt I said good however he said the EKG looked good a physical oddity in my face he did not like. He said rather then put you on a treadmills and cause a caridac event he would rather do a angiogram. As it turned out had 4 major blockages went to surgery a few weeks later. He cancelled me as a patient. I was real bad sick for weeks and had to cancel my stress test as I just couldn't do it as well as other appts. When I called back to reschedule, I was told I've been referred back to my primary doctor and start all over. This review is for Dr.Aggarwal himself. His staff deserves 5 stars for their wonderful service, especially his nurse practitioner. I went in due to a recommendation from my family doctor. I wanted to make sure that my long term chest pains were not related to a more serious problem. For reference I am a little overweight, I could stand to lose 30 pounds and I let them know that I knew this. I am trying, but my issues were already worked up by my family doctor and weight was not a concern. However, his departing words for me were that I should just lose weight. I cannot stress how disheartening it is to be told that basically all my problems will be solved once I lose weight. I have had chest pain while overweight but most of my life when I was the perfect weight I had chest pain. He was not helpful and he was disrespectful and unprofessional. read more

Patient was sent to another dr for issues other than anything heart related. Atul was patients established patient for more than a number of years. Other dr sent a report to Atuls office who then declined to see patient out of ego issues claiming he cannot see two drs who do the same thing. He hadn't really done anything for his patient anyways. After speaking to my dad yesterday, I felt compelled to share his story. I hope this helps someone who truly needs help avoid this man at all costs and find help from a cardiologist that actually understands and practices the Hippocratic Oath. My dad's first encounter with Dr. Aggarwal happened after losing his job and changing from private insurance to medical. Medical no longer covered his amazing cardiologist, so he was referred to Dr. Aggarwal who refused to see my dad until he provided all his medical records, which in my experience is the doctors office job to obtain? I've never had to go to any new doctor and physically bring records with me- super strange! After making him wait over an hour the doctor didn't even end up seeing him. The visit was just to continue care for my dad's ongoing AFib so Medical would approve his medication. Somehow my dad was able to continue getting his meds so he didn't schedule any follow up. Fast forward a year later and my dad's insurance once again asked that he be seen by Dr. Aggarwal. This time the doctor was just plain mean, accused my dad of being DRUNK (at his 9am appointment!!!!), and turned my dad away without approving his meds while telling him that he was on the verge of a heart attack! What the actual hell?! I hope this doctor faces all the consequences possible before it's too late and he ends up causing the DEATH of his patients! Sickening is not a strong enough word. Dr. Aggarwal saved my dad's life. My dad is a "complicated" patient, and I can say this because I have been a nurse for over 20 years, 5 of them in cardiac care. My dad was not easy to treat medically, but he is alive and back at home enjoying his life because of the great care he received by Dr. Aggarwal and the staff at Adventist Health. I have known quite a few cardiologists in my time. They can have a reputation of arrogance, some might even say rude. Cardiologists are often called in emergently because patients are having a cardiac event. Obesity, smoking, poor diet, etc are often issues that must be discussed, and cardiologists are not always "nice" when telling patients that they must change their lifestyle choices. Dr. Aggarwal is different. Dr. Aggarwal is kind, compassionate, respectful. He listens. I think he understands family dynamics well. Follow up care has been excellent. The office staff are wonderful. His office is located on Stockdale Hwy across from CSUB. I will continue to bring my dad to Dr. Aggarwal's office for care. read more

Update: I received a call back from Office Manager "Sonali" on June 10, 2022, after posting this review. She was very helpful and apologetic. She was not made aware of the situation previously. She rescheduled my son's appointment with no problem and made it clear that my previous treatment was not acceptable and additional training was needed. My son had an appointment for a stress test today, June 10, 2022, at 2:30 pm. I called the office at 10:10 am to notify them he had be vomiting the night before so I needed to reschedule the appointment. The receptionist "Yvonne" explained that he would be considered a "no show." I explained that I did not want that to be a negative on him because their office will drop patients after a certain number of "no shows." Yvonne asked if he had been coughing I explained he had not, but I still didn't want to expose other patients if he was ill. Yvonne explained he will still receive the "no show." I asked to speak to the office manager and was placed on hold for a while. Yvonne got back on the phone stated the office manager "Sonali" was busy and I would need to reschedule my son's appointment and he would receive a "no show." To avoid being charged a fee and documented as a "no show." I would have to take my ill son to the appointment and expose other patients. I will be finding another cardiologist as this is not an office I'd like to do business with. read more

Basically chalked my symptoms up as anxiety went to get second opinion at UCLA sure enough I was treated and diagnosed correctly. Such a huge difference in care it's night and day. Tried to see Aggarwal again just to let him know what UCLA cardiologist said and he wouldn't even see me YES you've read that right would not see me told the receptionist that since I went to see another doctor he would not see me. So I guess you can't get a second opinion. If you really want amazing care and your insurance allows go to Valencia UCLA health care it's an hour away but so worth it. Wish I can give zero stars. Working in the healthcare myself, this place is a joke including the doctor. The doctor was more interested in finding out where my mom is from, despite the fact that the Dr himself has a very thick accent which made it nearly impossible to understand what he was saying. The Nurse practitioner was actually trying to make things better because my mom needed ultrasound done, but apparently they don't do same day ultrasounds. Pretty much a "money-making" place they get you in and out within minutes with million people waiting in the lines. read more

If there was a way to give stars in negative numbers, that's what I'd give. My husband and I had the worst experience of our lives yesterday. My husband was scheduled for a follow up visit after a hospital stay. He's been very sick, with a blood clot in his heart, high blood pressure and diabetes. He'd been treated by Dr. Aggerwal before, and had a good experience. It had been a couple of years since he'd been there. Dr. Aggerwal came in visibly angry, and basically told my husband that he'd been "non-compliant" (repeatedly) He was cruel during an extremely stressful time in our lives. He treated us like misbehaving children, and we were both stunned. I've worked in the healthcare arena for many years, and I've never seen anything even close to the condescending, judgmental treatment we received. After all of this, he made it clear that my husband find another doctor, a "special" doctor who could put up with my husband's "non-complianceMy husband and I are patient people. We believe in treating others with kindness and consideration and respect. We didn't go in there with negative attitudes, so this came out of nowhere. The staff are great, so they're not included in this, but this office won't see us if this doctor is the only doctor on the planet. read more

I knew cardiologists require more training than other doctors, but this doctor exceeded all of my expectations. I was impressed by how nice the office is. The waiting area is beautiful. I have had to take my mother to MANY doctors in Bakersfield. Dr. Aggarwal was referred to us and was great with her. The staff was very friendly and the doctor was kind and thorough. This doctor is a very kind man, who doesn't seem to have any problem answering one question right after another. I was referred to him for a pre-op cardiac stress test, that I felt was just stalling a surgery that I badly needed! I was not nice.. I was grumpy and obnoxious, but he kept his cool, explained what he could and refused to engage in an argument with me.. For which I respect him.. I had the stress test. Just moved here a year ago. Was referred to doctor Agarwal by my family doctor. Only saw him once where he confirmed what my GP thought, which was I needed open heart surgery. Had the surgery, and saw him for a follow-up. A few months later, my blood pressure went thru the roof...190/105. I made an appointment with him and for a week I charted my blood pressure. It was NEVER normal no matter when I took it. I waited over 2 hours in his waiting room, even though I had an appt. I took my BP with me to the appt. and he glanced at it and threw it in the trash saying I shouldn't be taking it more than once a day. He then told me I had missed an appt. I apologized and said I couldn't remember having an appt. with him. He grew very angry and said his office ALWAYS notifies patients regarding their appts so I should stop lying. I apologized again and said I didn't miss it on purpose. His angry attitude kept up thru the appt. He told me never to take my BP if I was in pain. I told him that since I have MS and have had back surgery, there was never a day that I was not in pain. He acted like he didn't hear me. He listened to my heart for about 5 seconds and told me to come back in a month. That was it. He called me a liar and dismissed me. This man is so arrogant, rude and compassionless I will NEVER set foot in his office again...even if it kills me. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH. It was obvious to my wife and I that he only cares about getting paid, not his patients. He was angry that I had missed an appt but it was alright for him to keep me waiting when I did have one.
