Yesterday, I stopped by the New Pal store to ask them to check my battery in anticipation of the coldest weather in years. I think this older man is either the owner or general manager He made it evident that he would rather 'not' be checking my battery. Then, he said he couldn't get a 'really good' reading and 'maybe' the connectors/posts needed to be cleaned. His little machine showed that a new battery was needed and 'maybe' there'd be some credit for this one. He could not have been less help or more rude...... Now, the rest of the story....the car had trouble starting this morning so I went to Walmart/Greenfield. They said I needed new battery so after 'investing' in a very expensive battery which I was told would last at least 4 years and probably closer to 7 years, I now have a $49 Walmart battery. I would recommend NEVER going to the New Pal NAPA... just terrible

At the register I was offered the opportunity to purchase, on sale 2/$5 fuel cleaners. I accepted and was very appreciative of the fact he recommended an item I will need for my vehicle and the benefit! Micheal went above and beyond to assist me with my vehicle outside by hooking up the monitor, checking my battery (which was located in the rear of the vehicle under a cover for the spare tire), the alternator, and even placed the air fresheners inside my car vents! I didn't know what to expect. If I had known that you could rent a golf cart to go in the yard instead of pushing a wheelbarrow around a 6 football field sized yard filled with 100's of cars I would have done so. Noted. But all the vehicle's were elevated so getting under them was easy. There were engine lifts out there i didn't have to use one so I don't know what or how someone would go about borrowing one. But they have them. The parts are very reasonable and if you are in the tires or batteries, pretty much anything else that you could want or need for a vehicle they have it.

Now I know it's in the name, but just know that you will have to take the part off the scrap vehicle out in the yard. So some basic wrenching knowledge is needed. I took my own tools, but it looked like they had some tools for use out there. Also, if you are looking to get a big part, or a bunch of parts, they have wheelbarrows you can use, or golf carts you can rent for $5/hr ($20 deposit). The $2 yard entry fee was interesting...not sure why they'd charge me to look, but it's only $2. Also if you sign up for their free vip program you get two free entries and $1 entries after that.
