Two days before a trip to…read moreYosemite with the family, I completed a radiator replacement on my Landcruiser with 300,000 miles. I didn't do enough research to learn that the radiator has a transmission oil cooler circuit and when I disassembled everything I lost a little bit of ATF. 100 miles into our trip I kept smelling ATF and was worried that I had lost enough to break the cooling the circuit and thought maybe the transmission was over heating. I stopped into the Countryside Tire and Brake station and the store manager, Enrique, recommended I stop by and see if Omar and his team at Turlock Transmissions could help me. I spoke with Omar and he had two of his guys throw my truck (with all the gear and bikes) onto a lift to check the level and put me at ease. His team discovered that the transmission was perfectly full, but also that one of my power steering lines wasn't tightened and was leaking ATF (Toyota uses ATF in my truck's power steering) and that was burning off and causing the smell. They cleaned that up and set us back on our merry way. Highly recommend giving business to kind and courteous business operators like Omar and his team. Thank you again!

I recommend everyone STAY AWAY from this business. My sister called Car Pros 1 and she was told I…read morecould bring my car in to have the engine removed but that they wouldn't be able to get to it until after the weekend (I had my car towed to Car Pros 1 on a Friday). During the first two weeks they had my vehicle, I called them several times and left messages. Once when I called, Carl answered and told me he wasn't sure what was happening with my vehicle but that he would find out and call me back. My calls were not returned. After the third week, I finally reached Carl on the phone again. I asked Carl why they hadn't started working on my car, and he said in a sarcastic tone, "Oh, I don't know, maybe because we're busy!" They were supposed to take the engine out and deliver it to Modesto Engine-Renu, then reinstall it when Engine-Renu was done rebuilding it. They were very aware of this from the beginning but came up with a bunch of excuses. When asked why they didn't call me, why they didn't communicate with me, neither had a clear, sensible answer. The fiasco continued until finally, Car Pros delivered my engine to Modesto Engine Re-Nu, who rebuilt my engine in 2 weeks and returned it to Car Pros. Then the delays continued. My sister took over communication with Carl and/or Mishu, hoping they would do their job. Carl told my sister two different times that my engine would be ready on a certain date and that he would have the total cost ready for her. He never called her, and the delays continued. All in all, Car Pros had my vehicle for a total of 7 weeks! They billed for 17 hours labor which took them 7 weeks to complete, SEVEN WEEKS!!! Car Pros broke the hood prop rod retainer and the hood prop was just lying on the engine. An employee said he would "...get one from another car!" It didn't fit and the employee said Carl would have to order it (as if I would EVER take my car back to that crappy excuse of a garage). I called Car Pros to tell them my fog lights and cruise control weren't working (left a message on Mishu's voicemail). Car Pros never returned my call !!! To top it off, they charged substantially more than their estimate. If you take your vehicle to Car Pros 1 in Modesto for any reason, you are playing Russian Roulette with your car's repairs. Any response to this review from this business will be more garbage, I assure you, as this place is shifty and downright dishonest.
