They auction state and county government vehicles ranging from passenger cars, AWD, 4x4, motorcycles, heavy commercial equipment, etc. I could see this as a great opportunity for a smaller commercial business. The items are put on their website in advance so you are able to determine what you are interested in before the day of the sale. You also have the ability to bid online as well. We arrived about 8 am and registered. The auction started promptly at 9 and seemed to run very efficiently. The items we were interested in ended up going for more than we were willing to pay but it was a good and interesting experience!

If you don't do your homework or preview the item then yes you run the risk of getting something that is broken or doesn't work. If you expect to just show up and bid without looking at the item, then its on you. If you won an item that you didn't want, then too bad it's your own fault. If you feel like you didn't get a fair introduction to the auction then again it is your own fault for not asking. Every time I have been to the auction, the staff has been extremely helpful and even over the top on occasion. My ONLY complaint is that the store is awful!! It either a) needs to be bigger or b) limit the number of people in their. It gets frustrating trying to look at items when you have a guy literally grab an item you are going for and tossing it on his cart so he can look at it later and decide if he wants it or not.... thankfully I don't go to Bulward for their store because it is kind of a madhouse and not well organized, well staffed, or well controlled. So I saw a car that Zarkelly Auctions was selling on KSL cars. I called one of the 2 guys there…read morethat have the authority to actually sell the cars. I told him what price I was willing to pay for the car and he said okay. I drove from Sandy to Ogden with my checkbook but neither guy was there and wouldn't be for a few days. I then spoke to THE main guy (Mike) and he also agreed on the price that his partner agreed on. He said he would deliver it within 2 days to Sandy so I wouldn't have to make another trip all the way to Ogden. We had a verbal contract. Then just before he delivered the car he got a better offer for it and told me he was breaking our deal. Despicable for a dealer to do something like that. With that big stack of Mormon books on his desk I was surprised that he would stoop so low. But then Utah is the fraud capital of the US isn't it.
