We ordered a front load washer and dryer , we had picked it up ourselves with hired help. When it got back to us, it was cracked across the front door. When I asked what happened, they said the person who was helping them load it into our truck (Who was a younger teenager it seemed) loaded the units glass FACING the dolly, which ended up cracking it. Would not recommend. I have purchased two washing machines from this place and both broke within a year of purchasing (outside of their 90 day warranty of course). HIGHLY recommend going to a department store like Best Buy or Costco or Home Depot and checking their "open box" washers that come with a long enough warranty. We got our fridge here mid September. Everything worked perfectly on it until last Saturday, it just wasn't cold at all. I guess that was about 4 days after our warranty expired. I called and asked about if it was still in warranty and they informed us it was out of the warranty period but they would honor it because it was so close. The washing machine we bought from here broke within two weeks. We had to haul it back to the store ourselves, where they fixed it for free without any trouble. Its 1.5 - 2 years later and the thing is broken again, outside of warranty. They sell junk and they know it. The lady who ran the store was very knowledgeable and friendly, but she didn't seem to be the owner based on something she said. Where's the owner? I was extremely impressed with the price this place offers on appliances, I'd have a hard time considering purchasing used and buying a lemon but they offer 90 days satisfaction guaranteed. As with all major purchases, I shopped a washer/dryer set for quite a while before deciding on a set I found here to buy for my rental. Of course, the day I went to actually buy it, it was gone and I wound up having to choose another set. The service staff both times was very accommodating, allowing me the lengthy discussion I wanted to have as to brands and quality, etc. and I found what seemed to be an equally worthy comparable set for about the same money. The sales person I spoke to last gave me a very extensive and no-nonsense breakdown about why most machines fail (operator error, such as not cleaning lint traps, etc.) and what to avoid to get many years of dutiful and uninterrupted service. When it comes down to delivery, like other smaller businesses, weekend hours sometimes fluctuate wildly, depending on availability. I was down there on a Saturday to pay for the set and the owner himself, deciding, I believe that it was slow enough, closed down the place and personally delivered the set within an hour. Very hard to beat service like that and to this day, as good as David's word, though I have had to personally attend to some minor dis-assembly to perform some cleaning maintenance on the dryer, both have worked like troopers, unerringly, since the day I bought them. If you're going in for used or refurbed, it has to be with your eyes open. A $50 machine is not going to look or act like one $500+ and you really should be down there inspecting and choosing it yourself, so there are no surprises. With the proper due diligence, you can get a good appliance and save some bucks, but having a reasonable and realistic mindset is part of the game when you buy anything used. read more

If you'd like to go pick up an appliance that's guaranteed for 3 months and it dies in about 4 months this is the place. If your appliance does break down in the guarantee window you'll need to take it out of your house and put it back on the truck and take it back to them. After a few days they'll call you to come pick it back up and take it home. In the mean time you can keep all the stuff in your fridge and freezer in some insulated coolers. BEWARE!!!! read more

Honest business! This gentleman has been in business for a long time. Ten years ago, I bought a used dryer at Precision Appliance for $150. At exactly ten years, it stopped heating. I did research online & decided it wasn't worth the current upfront cost of trying to fix it. I went back to Precision & bought another used dryer for $170. Not bad! The delivery costs have increased a lot, understandably. However, if you can move an appliance yourself, it's a great deal. Even with the delivery charge, I paid about half the cost of a new dryer. I hope they can repair the old one, or at least recycle the metal. read more

Beware this business. Many years ago, they were pretty good with decent prices and customer service. But they have become too large and are dishonest. I bought a used refrigerator from them recently and bought it unseen for my house that was being rented. They described it pretty well in general and it all seemed good. But when I actually saw the refrigerator that was sold to me several months later, it had massive scratch marks down the side of the fridge, covering the whole side. It was exposed to the kitchen and was the side away from the wall. Unbelievable! There is also a big deep gash down the front of the fridge and some dents along the front left edge. When I called to complain that they did not tell me about the scratches and that I thought they were deeply dishonest, I was told that they sold me no such thing and clearly I 'didn't know them at all.' I said, you did sell me a horribly scratched up refrigerator and I think you did it because I was buying it sight unseen. My tenants were excellent and actually improved my house and so they certainly did not cause this damage - I know that. There was no resolution except that I was 'wrong' and I was 'mistaken' and I 'didn't know them. They would never do such a thing.' Well, I said - all I know is what you did, and so then yes, I do know you and you are dishonest. Considering they also took away my old fridge to refurbish with no credit given, and all it needed was a new part, I think they made out pretty well at the customer's expense. Buyer beware! I have been purchasing refurbished washer/dryer sets my entire adult life, but my first purchase of a washer/dryer set from Precision was in April 2018, and I had a mixed experience. While they were very knowledgeable and the washer worked great from the moment they delivered it, the dryer did not. It ran but didn't heat. After three different service calls over a month period the dryer finally works, but I wasn't always kept in the loop about service plans, which seemed to change often, and had to follow up quite a bit. I was even told at one point I'd have to bring the dryer back for a day of testing, which wasn't convenient or feasible. I am not certain I'll be purchasing from them again. read more

We bought a set. The lady at the store who assisted us was professional and sweet. We appreciate this kind of service. They delivered the set to our home and installed it for us. I really hate being the angry customer and were really excited to get our washer and dryer set for 250! My mom has been buying from them for so long as well. We recently bought a washer dryer set the washer works amazing!! But the dryer started squeaking real bad! We called and asked if they could come out and fix it they said they would call us back , never did! Called again today said it was going to be 75 dollars to come out and fix it WHEN ITS UNDER WARRANTY. The only way we can get it fixed for free if we bring the washer to them. Also the 75 was just to look at it! So it would cost us more .I don't have a car or a truck to bring it to them or else I would I am so disappointed! We are going to just deal with a squeaky dryer but I wish they were little better to their customers. :C read more

We have bought several things from the other store with good results. We took our old dryer in recently to this one to trade it in toward something new. Instead, the tech was able to tell us what the problem was and we fixed it easily for free. We will definitely be purchasing our appliances here in the future because they were so honest. I shouldn't be so disappointed, since I conciously chose to buy "gently used". I purchased a Maytag. It looked fairly new. Sans all the bells and whistles. I even overlooked being overcharged $60.00 from the original quote. Many touted the fridge to be one that would work for years. Within 32 days, I'm out a refrigerator. I've thrown $75.00 worth of food away. I bought it when I moved to Tooele County. $350.00 in the toilet. The only way for Precision Appliance to repair it, is to take time off work, rent a truck and drive it in to the shop (throwing good money after bad). I took the risk, but I'm hoping I can sway you the other way! DON'T RISK IT! Pay a little more, buy new to begin with. read more

I just moved to Murray and was in need of a washer and dryer and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I went to Precision Appliance and was welcomed with a warm, friendly staff. They were very knowledgeable and honest about all the washers and dryers I looked at. I ended up picking out a mismatched set and it was delivered for an extra $65.00 which worked out great! The washing machine works great! The dryer didn't heat up at all. I called the same day but they were closed and so I called the next day and was able to talk to a women who informed me to call back Monday. I called first thing Monday morning and a women answered and already knew who I was and what I was calling about! She sent out a repair man, "Rick", and he fixed the dryer, (heating element, which may have been damaged being hauled up my bumpy stairs). He was very quick! Now it works and runs great. Our oven from the 70s finally gave out on us so we were looking for a deal online for a flattop stove. Most of what we saw on KSL seemed a little iffy or too expensive. We wanted an oven hat didn't have any problems and was local for pick up. Precision Appliance had a few ovens listed on KSL that fit what we were looking for so we decided to go to their 1400 S 300 W location and take a look. When we got there, we easily found the oven we were looking at right away. The building was a little run down but the appliances were all thoroughly cleaned and fairly priced. We bought an oven and picked it up the next morning. They offer delivery but it would be a few days later and we needed our oven ASAP. We brought our old dead oven when we went to pick up the new one and they helped us get it out of the car and then loaded the new one in. Before we left they realized that the plug on our old oven was a 3 prong instead of the 4 prong that was on our new oven. They quickly switched it out free of charge! We have had no trouble with it and the price was amazing! We would definitely come back and recommend Precision Appliance to anyone looking for a good deal on any appliance. read more

All the employees were very nice and helpful on the phone and in the store. I came in and purchase whirlpool washer for only $200 with $60 for delivery and installation. They delivered it in less than 24 hours and it works great. There is a 90 warranty so I'm not worried at all. They also took my old broken washer which was awesome. I will definitely be going here in the future! I have had some nightmares with used appliances stores but this is by far the best used appliance store I've been too. read more

Beware their 90-Day Parts and Labor "warranty". We manage a small apartment building in Salt Lake City and have had the practice of purchasing replacement appliances (stoves and refrigerators) from Precision Appliance and paying to have them delivered and installed. Recently after a couple of weeks we had a stove's burner blue arc and burn out. I phoned Precision to have someone come out and assess and/or repair the problem. I was told that the "warranty" was an in-store warranty and asked to bring in the stove. "No", obviously if I had the means, I wouldn't be paying extra to have the appliances delivered. I was then told that "in-store" was explained to me at the time of purchase - which it was not or I would have seen this as a big problem. Then I was told it was a glass-top stove, which it is not. If there is no problem with the refurbished appliance, everything is smooth. If the used appliance breaks within the 90 days, you better have the means to transport the large appliance back to the store. This was a bad and frustrating experience. read more

I bought a used refrigerator for my garage from them and have been happy with it, and the delivery was flawless. I felt (just close to when my warranty was about to expire) that it was not keeping temp cold enough. So made a trip out to my house free of charge and checked it out and the temp was in fact right on! We upped the temp on the below freezer to help bring down the temp. After buying a used top load washer we got it home and discovered it wasn't working correctly. After Karen first tried to blame me for poor handling during transportation and delivery, I finally convinced her to send out a tech to take a look. The technician found an issue with a bad timer. It was worn out and should have been replaced before being placed on the sales floor, by the techs own admission. They could not replace the timer because they said they did not have the part. So they agreed to replace the unit with a similar one. Ok great. Everything is good, they honored their agreement, cool. One week after the installation of the new machine I discover that it is leaking oil! So I figure they will send out another tech and honor their warranty. Instead I get yelled at and talked to like a child and told that we must be overloading and abusing these machines. I am told it is a bad transmission and the only way these go out is if the machines are overloaded (or if it was bad to begin with, right?). I had the machine for only a week and never overload. Just as a comparison, we had another used machine from a different store for over 5 years before this experience. So after 3 months, countless phone calls, time off work to meet their technicians, I now have the pleasure of having to return the leaking machine because they are unwilling to fix or pick up the broken washer. What a nightmare! I do give them a sliver of credit for replacing the orininal machine but only after I fought tooth and nail for them to do so. They don't want to accept any kind of responsability and look to put all the blame their customers. I honestly have no idea how they are still in business if this is their typical way of handling things. read more

I purchased I front load washer and dryer set from the downtown location in July. Through the last couple months I have had a few concerns. When calling Dianne, their "manager" she told me there was nothing wrong with them. Now here it is Oct and the washer has completely broken. I called her 10/18 scheduled an appt for yesterday, 10/21 the repair man never showed. I then called Dianne back to find out what had happened. Well after being brutally screamed at hung up on and called names. I called their other location, Murray. I spoke with a very kind sir, Richard who informed me that was not how business is handled. Took my # and had the REAL manager, Karen call me. She was prompt in returning my call, kind and even took care of the fees associated with the in home repair. After all was said and done I will recommend the Murray location any day. As far as downtown???? Not a chance. Unless that is Dianne was let go from the company. Then I may recommend. But as of now. OK, buying used appliances is pretty dicey to start with, but we needed a washer/dryer when we rented a place in Salt Lake. We shopped new appliances, but were quickly priced out. Precision was one of several outfits advertising refurbished appliances, so we checked them out, pros and cons, first with web reviews, then in person. Good, patient sales guy, who addressed our concerns. What if it breaks down?? Precision offers a 90 day warranty, although for in-home service the customer has to pay the service call fee. Fast forward: we bought the washer & dryer (delivery showed up as scheduled), and guess what? We needed warranty service when the washer got stuck on a cycle and the dryer made a lot of noise. I called Precision, and Dave the tech asked a lot of questions over the phone, and said it could be one of two things. He brought parts for both problems, replaced them under warranty, and we've been happy campers since. These were by no means cheap parts, and Precision didn't spare the expense. Long story short--used appliances are dicey, and it's tough to know exactly what you're getting into, but Precision stood behind their warranty promises and made good on everything.
