George was amazing and very professional. He has a great attention to detail. He provided his advice and input on types of paint to colors at my request. He even recommended changes in light bulbs to help accent the new colors. His prep work was done quickly and he handle 1730 sq on his own. He covered everything and took extra care to clean up after he was done. George did a walkthrough of all of the property touching up things as he went. When it came for me to do the final walkthrough I found nothing to have him redo or fix. I will have him back to work on other properties in the future. It was badly faded and sun damaged, but Cheyne did an outstanding job stripping, cleaning, sealing, staining and applying multiple coats of a clear, UV retardant clear coat. He and the crew were thoroughly professional, courteous and meticulous about the job. He provided a written estimate and final invoice. Rise has full liability and worker's compensation coverage as well as the required bond. There been no action against the CCB license. I would definitely recommend Rise to anyone looking for a contractor to perform painting or wood refinishing work. Cheyney is the only one of three contractors who returned my call, which he did within 10 minutes. He is the ONLY contractor whom I could locate in Deschutes County who is willing to take on this type of project. The door looks better than when it was new! We were very disappointed with our experience overall. The project started with one estimate, but…read morecosts alsmost doubled without clear communication or advance approval, particularly with the electrical work, where only part of the originally discussed scope was completed despite much higher charges. We ended up removing items from the project just to stay closer to the original budget. We also had concerns with the quality of the patching and paint work after the electrical installation, which was left in poor condition, and we were then asked to pay extra to complete or correct it. Finally, after measuring our pantry, the contractor ordered approximately custom doors for $1200 that ultimately did not fit the opening and would have required modification during installation. After consulting another contractor, we learned there were much simpler and less expensive options available. Overall, communication, scope clarity, workmanship, and transparency around pricing and change orders were lacking.
