For my birthday my partner booked lunch at this little restaurant having read some good reviews We arrived outside...first reaction was really, here? This place? Its doesn't seem to be the most salubrious part of town, apologies to all. And the menu was very small. And did it even have enough choice? Was there something we could both enjoy? We went in anyway, and read on... The place itself has some fun decoration - apparently the loo is even better decorated! The waitress expected us and welcomed us warmly There were 2 couples at 2 other tables...we were able to choose anywhere, so we selected the table that seemed in the shape of an artist's palette, just by the door My partner had the scallops and risotto and I chose the Argentine steak...in the end, not having been before, I said well done rather than a point. Both were superb and my steak well done, so tender but crispy edged; but this good a piece of meat in future for me will be a point Cheese for me and for my partner a creme brulee. Both very good. The champagne delicious and the white and red (the Rasteau - bio) chosen both excellent too I would give another half star but for 2 things...the coffee was really second rate in our view, not nice. And the wines are incredibly expensive by the bottle; it needs something in between or a carafe...but you do get a nice large glass if you buy that way! After, just us 2 left, we chatted to the chef and waitress. They were both really nice. Apparently, they have music from time to time. They were going to close a couple of weeks to do some more works - not an issue in the end because the next day all restaurants would to be told to close because of the corona virus! The best food in Paris! The gazbacho was the freshest, most delicious treat. The salad I ordered for my main course, was made of fresh ingredients, presented beautifully, and seasoned to perfection. The Duck had amazing flavor and was prepared perfectly. The creame Brûlée was perfectly prepared and the chocolate sphere was a delicious peice of art. I can not say enough good things about this place. Best service, freindly to visitors, best food, best presentation, best music. Hidden gem! read more

Sitting in a train waiting to get to Reims to tour some champagne houses (because of course we are) so I guess it's time to make a dent in some reviews. This was our very first stop in Paris after dropping off our bags and it did not disappoint expectations. A smaller restaurant - we were one of only two tables. The server, who also appeared to be the bartender and maybe the owner or manager was wonderful and provided a warm welcome to Paris. Gave us the English menu without asking and we enjoyed a very pleasant conversation. This is definitely not a place to be nervous about coming to if you don't speak a lick of the language. When it comes to wine, we don't really know what to order even when in the states, but at least we know what grapes we like. Here, we didn't even know that. So we guessed and guessed right. Our wines were superb. For entrees, I got the duck. Couldn't tell you how it was prepared - which will be a common theme in these Paris reviews. When you go somewhere for a while and dont take detailed notes, you end up with notes like "duck, great. Wine, great, service great." Very helpful a week and 20 restaurants later. Anywho, best duck ever? Maybe. There was one duck dish at a French restaurant in NY that might have been better or at least, just as good. But I do want to head to the almost every French restaurant I've been to in the states and slap the chef with a cold wet spatula for betraying their country. I am rarely disappointed in any French meal I get in the US, but this put them all to shame. I could have come back here for every meal, but there were croissants to eat elsewhere. read more

(I just realized my review never posted from last year on Google!!! I'll try here on Yelp. Written December 2021. I am not one to write many reviews, but I felt compelled to write one for this restaurant. We spent two weeks in France for our honeymoon, and this was by far our favorite meal. Everything from the decor/ambiance, to the food (presentation and taste), to the staff - the owner, Selim, was a doll and shared many interesting stories with us. The entire experience was A+ and something we still talk about weeks later. Au P'tit Curieux will be our "go to" next time we are in Paris. read more

From the embroidered napkins on, this was a magical dining experience. Wonderful owner and staff, sumptuous food and amazing attention to detail. This cozy corner restaurant is great for a dinner for 2, a special celebration or a group. There's another room downstairs with a piano.Can't wait for my next visit. read more

Very accommodating to vegans. They prepared a vegan risotto with chives and green beans that was very tasty, and one of the salads they were able to leave the cheese on the side so my friends could try it. read more

We trusted online reviews and booked dinner not too far from where my girlfriends and I were staying in the 10th. Little did we know we would be enthusiastically greeted by the owner who carefully watched over us to make sure the food was to our liking and also to time each course at a leisurely pace to allow enough time for conversation. The food was truly excellent. My friend said the perfect egg was the most perfect egg she'd ever had and, we also enjoyed the salmon gravlax platter. The butternut squash soup is nothing like the chunky mash we have in the US. It was an artisanal dish with the soup poured tableside over the the other beautiful ingredients that added wonderful flavor and texture. The duck and lamb entrees were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. And, even though we had no room for dessert, the creme brulee was divine. Terrible service completely ruined the meal. We were 1 minute late and got shamed as soon as we walked through the door. The man then refused to service us for the first 15 minutes that we were sitting there. The rest of the meal he only said short things to us and did not fully ask us any questions. When my sisters steak came it did not have any flavor. She was not able to eat more than a bite so rather than sending it back we just waited for the table t one cleared. When he saw that the steak had not been eaten he proceeding to ask us lots of questions and stab at the meat telling us that we were wrong and that it was good. Overall would not recommend. There are hundreds of other restaurants in paris where you can get the same and better quality food for much better service and a better price. read more

I must start by saying we were excited to plan this restaurant as our final meal in Paris, but now wish we would have gone anywhere else instead. While 4 of the dishes we ordered were very well prepared, we struggled to get past the incredibly poor service from the moment we walked in. We were slightly delayed on getting to the restaurant, so we called (45 minutes in advance) to notify you that we would be 10-15 minutes late. We were told our reservation would be void if we were 1 minute past 15 minutes late (I understand the reason but the delivery was uncalled for). Further, once we got to the restaurant we were scolded and told that the family near us were able to make it with small children yet we were not and this was inexcusable (there was a train strike so our normal 25 minute journey was 1.5 hours). More- After the meal we were asked how everything was, when we responded that all but the steak was good the waiter took great offense and told us we were wrong by picking up a knife and cutting into the steak itself to try and show us that it was fine (it tasted bad, wasn't cooked badly). Our family has travelled around the world and eaten at some of the best restaurants in many countries. We were genuinely excited about our visit to this small bistro as we read so many good reviews. However, it was the worst experience of our time in Paris and I will definitely be recommending that none of our friends and co-workers waste their time on this visit. I hope we caught this restaurant on a bad night, but realistically we likely drove past hundreds of restaurants that would have provided as good of a meal and much better service. read more

This small restaurant is a gem. The food is excellent and the menu changes with availability. The menu is limited for that reason but you can't go wrong with the offerings. Gerant is attentive and makes you feel welcome. His suggestions for wine and food are excellent. The gazpacho is the best I have ever had. I ordered the prawns with ratatouille which was excellent. The desserts are outstanding. You need to leave time to relax and truly enjoy this experience. It is an evening of learning to appreciate the meaning of French cuisine both for taste and learning to savor each course. read more
