One of our favorite places in Paris! Came here the first night we were in Paris, and man, did it set a standard for food. Came here with a 9PM reservation, and we arrived a bit earlier (walked from our hotel) at probably 8:30 or so. They were very accomodating and we were able to get sat pretty much right away. They had English menus for us, which was greatly appreciated since my French stops at "Bonjour". We got a truffle sausage app dish that came with wonderful bread as well as the "Bouef" (filet) and a mushroom pasta dish. Both dishes were amazing. The filet was so soft and tender and perfectly cooked. The mushroom pasta was perfectly creamy and flavorful. We were so stuffed from our food that we couldn't stomach dessert. We were surrounded by locals, which is always a good sign for me.

I visited here for my first time with my husband about 5 yrs ago and had such fond memories of the food, decor, and service, I brought my son here tonight on his first trip to Paris. We had another 5 star experience. The staff is friendly, attentive, and we're mindful of my son's allergies (all nuts). The menu has changed, but the food was just as divine. He wanted frog legs and a bacon cheeseburger, and I had truffle linguini. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Delicious. Quaint. Fast. Affordable. We were very hungry so just shared a nice bottle of wine and 3 appetizers. We had the beef tartare, ceviche and octopus. Everything was exceptional!! We finished with a chocolate caramel brownie with Berthillon ice cream. Heavenly!

Excellent service, hostess and staff speak enough English for us to feel comfortable with no French of our own. Intimate venue, we were well cared for. We made reservations through trip advisor and got a discount! When we arrived 20min before our reservation time, they took us right away. It got busy around 8:00pm, but we were never neglected. My husband for the steak tar tar and enjoyed it. I got the fish (not pictured) and had the best artichokes I've ever had in my life. We noticed that most of the other guests were locals, which is always a tip off that the food is authentic and high quality.

Such a charming experience! Delicious meal, warm ambiance, and excellent service. Hubby is vegetarian so had 2 starters as his meal: carrot and potato soup with crème fraiche first, then leeks with Parmesan crumble. The carrot soup was incredible; the leeks very good as well but not as incredible as the soup. I had the terrine (pork and fig) to start then the plat du jour: veal and mushroom stew over pasta. Oh my gosh, both were so delicious but the veal especially. The wait staff were very kind and spoke English which was helpful for us. Highly recommend. We hope to dine here again as we are staying just around the corner.

We accidentally ate here- and as I've learned through Yelp, accidental dining experiences turn out to the best ones. We had planned most of our meals in France, but this was completely random. We had been walking around all afternoon and forgotten about dinner. By the time we walked around Île Saint-Louis again, we realized we were starving. We didn't plan ANY stops along this route, and just randomly picked a place off Yelp without reading the reviews. First of all, this place is amazing. There decor is hilarious and cozy, and the hostess is friendly. Their menu (pre fixe) is in French, and then completely in English on the reverse. The prices are outrageously great for the tremendous quality you get for the food. At the time, we had no idea this was a Michelin rated restaurant (can't wait to tell the BF!) We have a crab salad starter, which was very light and refreshing, and packed full of flavor. The BF isn't huge on seafood but thoroughly enjoyed this one. I went with the Beef Carpaccio, which came drizzled lightly with a pesto sauce and sprinkled generously with parma cheese, and fresh greens and french fries on the side. This is a very meaty dish, but it was surprisingly not overwhelming. The BF had a steak that was cooked exactly to his request (which, if you eat steak out, is hit and miss because many times, it's overcooked). It also came with greens and fries. He enjoyed it very much (as did I!) We finished with a crème brûlée, which was perfection in a cute little ramekin. I think this was one of our favourite meals in Paris, and I'd definitely make it a point to eat here again the next time we visit.

Wonderful place on the island of Saint Louis. The menu only has 5-6 items for each starter, main, & dessert. and (I guess) the ingredients are fresh, seasonal and dishes well done. Given the quality, it's very reasonably priced at €22 for a main, €27 to add a starter or dessert or €33 for all three. Friendly knowledgeable staff and the customers were 75% French / 25% tourist. The roosters theme and "Crazy" name (from a movie I think) combined with the food and service makes it feel like a fancy but friendly place.

Trendy atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious meals. Bon appétit! This warm, romantically lit spot is mysteriously decorated with chickens- the product of an inside joke between the owners. Located on the Island of Saint Louis, Les Fous de L'lle, or 'The Crazy Guys of the Island', is a tempting lunch option for passersbys seeking a cool drink and break from the afternoon sun. My husband and I wandered in fifteen minutes prior to our reservation and were greeted warmly by Nicolas, who joked with us about our early arrival. It quickly became apparent that our French is 'très mauvais', so Nicolas graciously answered our questions in English. We were impressed with the menu, which is not large. This appealed to me as I've always been fond of menus which look more like love notes than manifestos. I decided to try the lunch special, three courses for 27€, and my husband selected dishes from the normal menu, 25€ for two dishes if memory serves. Our meals were delicious. I won't bore you with the specific items we had, because I don't believe you could make a bad choice. Everything was beautifully presented, flavourful, and prepared with care- everything we hope for when dining out. We sat up at the bar, where we enjoyed Nicolas's company when he wasn't busy helping others. I asked him to help us order in French, and he very kindly helped us with a few phrases. All in all, my husband and I felt very welcome, enjoyed the space, and sincerely enjoyed the food. Meeting new people and eating new things is our priority when traveling, and Les Fous de L'lle ticked both boxes. Day one of our twenty-day adventure in Paris is done, and I hope the next restaurants we encounter are just as lovely. x

This is an excellent restaurant, with wonderful food, and cheerful helpful staff! My wife and I just flew into Paris this morning, and after a long flight and immigration processing procedure we were ready for lunch. We scanned Yelp and found that this restaurant was close by our hotel and had great reviews. We saw the menu from the window but it was all in French. Knowing only a little French we decided to go in anyway. Having grown up hearing how "rude" the French are, I was somewhat intimidated. I only speak a few phrases. This was my wife's and my FIRST PARIS RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER. I asked the hostess, in French, if they speak English...you may wonder, are the French rude, snobbish??? And the answer... ...NO...!!! NOT AT ALL. The young lady smiled warmly and replied, "Yes, I speak English!" (in English). That was a wonderful beginning to our trip, instantly shattering years of rude French stereotype BS from our minds. They made our experience warm and enjoyable. They immediately got us seated and quicky brewed us a fresh double espresso for me, and a cappuccino for my wife; it was a Lavazza coffee which we love. For an appetizer we munched on a liver pate with a fresh baked baguette and some candied orange which was absolutely delicious. For the main course I indulged in a ham fillet mignon with mushrooms cooked with butter and garlic. These were the best mushrooms I have ever had in my life, having a texture that was almost crunchy when you bit into it, with a burst of flavour in your mouth. The meal was definitely one of the best I've ever had. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND PLAN ON RETURNING...!!!

This is a rooster themed restaurant I just came across on my way back to hotel from the Louvre. We were just wondering around the little streets and got super hungry. But again we don't like wasting our meal on just a random food so we looked around and saw that this place has been on Michelin star restaurant list for years. So we had to give it a try. It was late lunch so he place was slow. I ordered my usual Pinot Gris and then looked at the menu. It had different course options available. But since my stomach shrunk dramatically with small European portion sizes, I only ordered one thing which was main course. And my friend opted out for appetizer. We couldn't eat multiple dishes haha. Mine was pollack fish filet which was ok. I wasn't impressed since it just tasted very blend. It is have some mixture of vegetable underneath but it wasn't great. My friend ordered cold spinach soup with egg and she enjoyed it. They do offer English menu so it was easy to order. Our server was nice but slow since she was the only one serving. I wouldn't come back just because I wasn't so impressed. Not a bad experience just not a great one either.

I really wanted steak for lunch at a reasonable price. I spent about an hour looking for a good place to down and I finally came to this little spot. Their business deal looked pretty good so I went for it and I'm so happy I did! I didn't really enjoy the anchovy appetizer (but I don't think I like anchovies so much). But the Flank Steak was worth the whole experience. I got it rare and their french fries were McDonald style. And the Staff is very nice as well. I'm almost certain you wont regret it. Beer + Starter + Main = 23 Euro

We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.
