The Auberge Sauvignon is an excellent place, excellent located, and with beautiful surroundings. The accommodations are simple but reliable, clean, and functional. My room was clean and comfortable, the showers worked well, and I had a space heater which did its job very well even during a weekend with a decent snowfall and temperatures that got down to 5 degrees F. The auberge enjoys two (I think? One seemed to be further away from the deck) outdoor jacuzzis/spas that were thankfully well maintained and cleaned. The staff are also immensely polite, and check-in and check-out is very flexible so long as you're able to sign your paperwork at some time during your stay, due to only needing a code for the keypads. There is a shuttle service for the ski village that I did not get the chance to take advantage of, but I did take note as something else that really enhances the bang-for-buck factor - this is on top of the Sauvignon being right by one of the free bus stops that cover the whole MT area. The included breakfast is some very basic self-serve with shrink-wrapped pastries and a selection of drinks. Very bare bones, but free and included Though I really sat down to ponder what might bump down my experience with the Sauvignon to even 4 stars, I cannot find anything truly worth that. Two small comments: signs indicated that towels would be available by the back door of the auberge for use of the spa, but these were either not available or not readily visible. Furthermore, the bedsheets seemed to have a lot of specks of fluff on them, giving them the appearance of being unclean - though further inspection satisfied me that it was just dryer lint. Merci, Auberge Sauvignon!

Plus, if they don't like you, they'll charge you for damage or smoking, anything they can. Book through a third party site so that they don't have your credit card information. I'll never stay here again. Not only is it more like a 30 minute walk to the village, but if you do stay here, it's noisy, small and you won't be treated well.

Each room has keypad entry. Bed very comfortable. Cozy game area and living room with real wood fireplace. Breakfast was tasty! My only "be awares": shower is small (at least in our room) so for taller people may be cramped. You take your shoes off when walking in the house. As someone who grew up culturally this way, I love it! For those that aren't use to it, may be strange. Very close to skiing and the Scandinavian spa (they have a discount with them, so ask them in advance) Owners Patrick and his wife are kind hosts. What could be more perfect after a day at the most amazing spa in the world and a cozy Italian dinner than a perfect bed and breakfast experience? Not much if you ask me.... Where to begin? The home is picture perfect and nestled in the woods surrounded by leaves upon glorious leaves. An inviting front porch appropriately decorated for the season and a backyard filled with hues of yellow and a hot tub! Perfection! The room was lovely. Immaculate and cozy. The most comfortable bed complete with crisp white linens and super plush pillows. Their signature feather (plume is feather in French) was found creatively dispersed in the details including a throw pillow and on the door to each room. I loved every thought out detail such as the maple leaves as a nod to Canada. We took advantage of the oversized tub and lovely smelling bath accessories. We loved the playful addition of the rubber duckies! The robes were perfectly folded and a treat to put on after our relaxing bath as we cozied up. The room has a CD player, DVD player and and a small flatscreen with satellite. We had a fantastic nights sleep in this space. The house was super cozy as well and filled with local artist as well as the owner's own artwork. All were of gorgeous local scenes. Amazing! They are all for sale also! The food was unreal! We were graciously handed a menu to fill out before bedtime with a place to select a time we would like to enjoy our meal. I was a tad confused as there were so many options. You each choose one from each category. So much food and it all sounded incredible! It absolutely was! The hosts take pride in their culinary skills and it surely shows. Each dish was created, plated and garnished with the upmost care. They also have a hydroponic garden in the basement so your meal is garden fresh. The menu was very creative, but didn't stray from the local surroundings. They will certainly cater to your dietary needs. The night before our stay was Canadian Thanksgiving and we were invited to join in for a full dinner. They even went out of their way to make me veg friendly plates! The hosts couldn't have been friendlier, kinder and more knowledgeable of the area. It was an absolute perfect night and up there with our favorite bed & breakfast experiences. We would love to return again and suggest you do when you're in the area. It was roughly 15 minutes from town. Thank you, thank you, thank you for a perfect experience. See you again soon!

Where it's missing the other 3 stars is the actual facilities. The walls/ceilings are paper thin, when someone closes a door above you the wall shakes etc. The studio "suites" are also misleading- it is a shared entry way with the room next door (not sure what purpose the entry way serves) but if you have unkind neighbors, the door slamming/people crowding in doorway will keep you up. We traveled with our one child who was kept up by the 3+ children next door going in and out of the shared doorway, as well as the children/family above us morning, noon and night. The family next door continued to prop the "suite" door open which made me feel weird that they decided who got access to our room etc. At one point the neighbor children were sitting in the entry way- I had to ask them to move so my family could walk out of the door. Again, I have a kid and understand it can be difficult but when I'm having to step over other people's to get out of my hotel room with no parents in sight it becomes really uncomfortable. Additionally, the 2 EV chargers it shows available were out of service. Just a heads up for my EV friends!
